Overview - Moment in time: Not too long after Unki's return to Arashi from the field and has wrapped up events. Mind you, Shiro has JUST turned up. Fresh after the battle, you might say. - Premise You see, this couple's time together (even its formation) became one shoved widely off scene due to rocky, unforeseen circumstance. Therefore much of Shiro and Unki's married life takes place in a timeskip stored separate from Gaia (i.e the opening of SR) so it's a wonder what exactly went on in between them in reference to the timeline before this guild's story starts as a whole. You could simply ask Unki herself about the last five years but maybe there are some details that are better said from Shiro's perspective? This thread is where some of those details might come to light. Better yet, this thread might just be where they blow some steam and learn a couple things. Shiro sat alone in the garden of his rather massive house. He always appreciated the Zen gardens serenity. The small river, the koi fish, the soft grass and the banzai trees. It was a place which truly brought the man peace in his times of need. At the mans feet was a pile of scrolls in the form of reports. Casualty numbers, combat reports, after action reviews, logistics reports. Most of them pertained to the recent battle, however there were a few which spoke of the waning power of his empire. They were strong to be sure, but their power was getting ground down steadily. The UHV war, the suppression of rebellions, now the battle against Kogarashi. Each had taken their tole on their military capacity and it was finally starting to show signs of fatigue. What he needed more than anything was to find a way to bring peace to his empire. Not just a year or two, but ten, fifteen years. He needed time to rebuild and recover. Truth be told he needed time to recover as well. The stress was starting to take its toll, lack of sleep, lack of appetite. All told from the battle, he had four hundred dead, six hundred maimed, among which were thirty lieutenants, six captains, two majors and one General of the Left. The final one would be the most annoying to address given that he was the leader of the Hyuuga clan. Motioning to his attendant he nodded,"Bring me a scroll, a sealed case, and a brush with ink." Once the attendant had returned he let out a sigh and began.
"Captain Kosei. It has been some time since we last had time to sit down and speak to each other despite the desire to the contrary. Before I continue please allow me to invite you to the palace at your pleasure. Though I wish the nature of this was simply to catch up with an old friend. Sadly politics has its play today. It is my solemn sadness and duty to inform you of the death of General of the Left Jiro Hyuuga's passing. While I was not with him at the time of his death, the reports indicate he died with honor and courage. Naturally he will receive a state funeral with full military honors befitting a General of his rank. However in the wake of his death the position of leader of the Hyuuga is vacant. To avoid a power struggle I am going to advocate that you claim it. If I were to, even if I cared about it, it would create a conflict of interest that I simply cant address at this time. I would like to urge you to attend the funeral and after the proper morning period announce your succession as leader of the hyuuga. When you find a free moment I need to speak with you about a rather important matter."
Taking the seal-able case and sliding the scroll in he placed the Imperial seal upon the clasp and sealed the case shut with wax. Facing his attendant he nodded,"See to it that this reaches Captain Kosei." With the attendant taking the scroll and bowing he was left alone once more. However it was the one thing he didnt want. Every time he was alone his thoughts always drifted back to the words he heard before. "Traded integrity for his throne" "Not unlike the UHV" "Full of snakes and monsters" He knew full well that his rise to power was highly out of the ordinary. He even risked treason for it. But its not like he did what he did for his own personal power. He did it to help the people of his village and the lands he protected. The power he gained was simply a side benefit right? It enabled him to do what he needed to do.

No one ever said becoming adjusted to a new place didn't have to come easy but at least something things managed to stay the same. Not many things were the same but enough that just enough that the newness wasn't all that bad to put up with. Battle wasn't new. Neither were the circumstances of battle since it all boiled down to someone being angry at someone else. The outcome of battle was the same too. Someone won and someone lost. The only victory is that the fighting stopped and the actual loss was the many casualties. A good fraction of the loss was just on the far below roads themselves. It was an understatement to just say how nice it was to be away from the turmoil. What was left of the Empire still partially counted on Unki, although to some extent. Thoughts about the someones out there grieving, potentially blaming her for not doing more, that kept her awake.
Awake. Unki hadn't really slept much since she filed through the borders of the Hidden Storm. No sleep, hardly a soul who called her Empress Unki (she felt the previous leaders were responsible for that) and busy buzzing with normal affairs (and not so normal affairs) which ultimately lead the Envoy astray from one reason for coming here. Unki was wide awake even (not to mention, too overwhelmed to even talk) when she was whisked away to this "HOUSE". This mutli-level behemoth wasn't a house. Equally the "house" in Kumo wasn't a house either since real houses were small, cute and compact with the necessities. This new building tried to rivial the palace in Kumo but the limt on space kept it down a couple pegs. Unki really couldn't make heads or tails of the exact age of this building since, frankly, she hadn't the time to explore the extent of the land the village occupied. tab At least any fancy house to she was asked to call a home felt far away enough from town this time. tab By now the fate of the strong man she assisted was in the hands of another. The young man who helped, phenominally, was surely off on his own too. Under the roof of her new home Unki's gauntlets, tonfa, sword, and all things sharp and pokey were shed not too long after arrival. She was tired but not tired enough that a hot bath was plenty to put her to sleep. Her new purple, cloudy clothes were set aside and exchanged for something temporary and airy. Instead Unki picked out a dress that was widely blue in color with long frilly white sleeves she ended up tying back since the next feat on her mind was cooking. Alone. Quietly. The only noisy things were her clanking spoons, personal cooking pots, and little bowls as she went about making pudding. tab That's how two hours went by for Unki. Three, if you count how long it took to bathe, get dressed, and deny herself a hair braid. tab Finding Shiro felt like a journey of its own and it made her wonder if she'd need to draw a makeshift map. In the end, Unki's pink pudding concoction was only enough to fit and fill two two cups she could fit in her palm. Tea cups. Little bowls. Her real bowls were pretty much "given away" to the shrimp donburi stuck in a time lock of magical goodness. Unki wordlessly hops over organized strips of pebble pathways, minding her pink puddings, and skitters her way to Shiro. The troubled pout on her face is contrary to her quiet landing. No whimpers, whines, or agitated sighs as she sits down. Her legs are hidden completely under her skirt. She sets one tea cup down in front of Shiro. Shakes out her ruffled sleeve, sets down the second cup in front of herself, and shakes out the second sleeve. Unki only had tiny spoons and those were revealed from her collar and one was delicately balanced on the rim of a tea cup. Skills.
Unki plucked her pudding off the green and stabbed her little spoon beside a cherry blossom garnish. The pout on her face only went away long enough to take a bite. "I made pudding."

Kenshin received Shiro's letter at his office at the CORE Compound shortly after his meeting with the Arashikage. That meeting was explosive with his own resolute resignation as an adviser. Of course he still maintained his status as the police captain and the CORE commander. Kenshin was determined to avoid the Spire and his secessionist leader and would only communicate with him by correspondence. He was still boiling from that discussion even two hours after getting back to work. Strangely, he did not see Ada in the office that day which was a shame because he was certain that is lieutenant could help him make sense of it all with her calm and rational outlook. When he received the letter from the courier he had no doubt that it was from the Emperor. As he sat at his desk he opened the case and then the parchment. He was informed of his uncle's death almost immediately after the battle while he was recovering in the hospital. He confided in Ada about this loss as well as his precarious status in the family and challenging personal history. He suspected that he might hear from Shiro about the matter as well so the letter's contents were far from surprising. He immediately left his office and the building with the letter in hand to heed the summons to his secondary palace in Arashigakure.

Kenshin found the luxurious palace in Arashigakure and was permitted entry by the royal guard. He stood alone in the grand entrance of the building and waited quietly. He waited for the emperor to be informed of his arrival. "So this is the secondary royal residence. I'm surprised Toso hasn't dishonored our emperor further by turning this into an imperial embassy." Kenshin thought resentfully as his sharp eyes scanned over his surroundings. He was still freshly resentful of the secession news but intended to avoid the topic altogether during their meeting.
Personal Attributes • Piercing Accuracy | The clansman is more proficient than his fellow clan members at striking tenketsu. One's gentle fist application allows them to reduce 1.5 times the amount of chakra spent in a jyuken strike instead of 1.25. For example, if one spends 100 chakra on a gentle fist technique, the attack robs the target of 150 instead of the 125 normal clansmen would reduce. • Purest Lineage | The clansman's thoroughbred lineage allows them access to the Byakugan without the use of a hand seal, chakra cost, or activation. In addition, should they unlock the Tenseigan, they may have 50% less reserves to maintain it than other clan members and may also activate the Tenseigan without the use of a hand seal, chakra cost, or activation. • Physical Prowess | The Hyuuga gains a slight increase to reflex OR speed per body rank. This totals in a supreme increase for one or a moderate increase for both at S-Rank. In addition, the user gains a single custom slot to be used exclusively for the gentle fist style and one taijutsu slot. • Armory of Justice | Kenshin receives one free custom weapon. • Thundering Justice | Lightning based techniques used by the Hatake are granted a concussive blast in the form of a sonic boom upon impact. This concussive blast has a range of five feet per rank of the parent technique. Those within the area of the blast have a knock-back effect applied if their body rank is lower than the parent technique. In addition, deafness is applied upon impact for two posts.
Nuibari Attributes • Infinite Needles | While Nuibari functions perfectly fine as a long, thin blade that sits between a Jian and a Foil. It's comprised of infinite, instantly replenishing needles. If an opponent is stabbed, the blade will leave several needles inside of the opponent. It also never runs out of string either, with one at the base of the weapon, and one attached to each needle. Similarly, unhindered, the weapon always comes back when thrown for the techniques below, and can be pulled to the user free of activation via its wire so long as the nigh-invisible string is not cut. • Thread the Needle | This skill increases the speed of the wielder moderately while Nuibari is wielded.

Additionally, you may create a "keystone" technique; this technique is essentially a Bloodline ninja's signature move, with power and versatility similar to a technique such as Kamui. This technique must be submitted as a custom jutsu and approved. It cannot be used to provide stats or reductions. It also does not take a custom jutsu slot. • Specialization | If this class is taken as the first and second class, you may pick 2 of its disciplines. Additionally, bloodline cast by this specialization are cheaper in cost as determined by the users body rank. At body rank D and C costs are reduced by five[5]. At body rank B and A, costs are reduced by ten[10]. Finally at body rank S and S+ costs are reduced by fifteen[15] These reductions DO NOT stack and override their previous totals. The Art of the Gentle Fist can also be utilized through Purity for a ten post duration after putting a D-Rank amount of chakra into the blade. These do not consume activations. • Touché | By spending five chakra Purity is able to completely trade physical damage to instead seal tenketsu points and inflict severe pain in the area struck. This simulates the feeling of being pierced with the blade. Slashing attacks can still take effect. This does not consume an activation.
Letting out a rather heavy sigh, Shiro flopped onto his back. The pile of work he had to deal with never, ever got smaller. It just seemed to add more whenever he completed one task or another. It proved for precious few moments that he could relax. When a cup of pudding appeared before him in the form of delivery by his beloved he sat up and took the cup. Though the look upon her face already answered his next question before he even gave it voice. Taking a bite he smiled and savored its taste. He had to admit, as far as cooking went she had developed far far faster and farther than he had. Taking another bite he let the creamy substance rest upon his tongue for a moment before swallowing. After a moment he nodded,"Thank you, its delicious. I'm very glad to have a break from the work honestly." How would he being? Hell even he didnt know. Though that had never stopped him in the past and it damn sure wasn't gonna stop him now. Setting the empty cup to his side he began,"I ..want to apologize. I've not been a very good husband to you these years weve been married. Ive not been able to spend even a fraction of the time I wanted to with you. Politics these days dominates my life in ways I dont like. Even having you fight without me was a political move to display in the grandest way possible, to those in Arashi, specifically Toso, just how strong you have become and to display your leadership ability. I.. apologize.. for that. I've never been good at that sort of thing. I've started seeing things as a sort of endless shogi game. Everything is a move to a ending I cant see. I can see the results of actions and anticipate things but I have no idea what lies at the end of this match with the world. Its turning me into someone I dont want to be. I'm becoming manipulative, distrustful, and fed up with the political games. Honestly if doing so didn't put countless thousands of lives in danger I would fracture the Empire myself into city states and give my power over to a successor. So that I could give you all of my time." It wasn't perfect or beautifully said but it expressed everything he needed to say and get off his chest.
At the gate, an attendant came forth with a smile and a bow,"Lord Kosei, His majesty will receive you in the library shortly. Hes with the Empress at the moment. Would you like me to have anything prepared for you? Tea, something to eat perhaps?" Gesturing for him to follow her, the attendant started inwards guiding the man to the library. Which, oddly enough, was quite extensive. It was filled with books and scrolls covering all manner of topics from martial strategy, industrial efforts, medical research, chakra theory, even a few of his own creation though their number was small. In the center of the room was a pair of large couches facing each other one of which was clearly well used and worn but still in good condition."Please make yourself comfortable, His Majesty will be with you shortly."

The wear and tare of politics only pressed itself on her every now and then, less than it did Shiro, apparently. At first, Unki's bites of pink pudding were small and lasting in light of not knowing what to say. She just let Shiro speak. The more he spoke the more the little pout on her face began to shrink. At times she could feel her lower lip quiver specifically when he felt like he had to apologize for being not able to be with her and when how he wanted to have the world see her leadership abilities.
Leadership abilities came and went for Unki when they could be found within the couple's time together. Usually other people were her "go-to" or a little like support beams to build up whatever it was she wanted to accomplish. Unki returns her empty tea cup the green grass and went to hug her knees. There were things he was saying that were undeniably true. The Shiro and Unki marriage wasn't a peachy pudding party that a dreamy eyed tenderfoot to love might dream for. What was a union supposed to be anyway? All Unki had to reference any union between two people was her own parents and their relationship wasn't a fairy-tale.
How was her own better? It wasn't like communication lines were cut and buried between them but at times when they couldn't be used is a different story. Unki had been able to bide her time with establishing projects to forward the well being of residents of the Capital, neighboring villages, towns, and gradually into provinces of the Empire; all but Arashi which seemed capable out reach of her hands. "You got my hopes up." Her first comment came about his strategic lie. "I got over it down there, at least. Unki wasn't happy but she wasn't crying or fussing. She carry a sort of a somber note in her voice, however. "Maybe they'll have a reason to look at me now. I had one boy choose to put that loftly ol' label on me out of the many I've spoke with. I don't think even Toso dropped that weary old title on me. Jay didn't. Jeon probably wouldn't have unless you were staring dead in the eyes at her."
Unki knew well that Shiro would take both time and slap his crown on the head of any someone who fit the bill but only in a perfect world. There weren't enough "someone"'s to fill the void Shiro's reshaped frame of mind wouldn't accept to grant him that option. No one seemed to just faithfully fit the bill to the Emperor's fancy. Hesitation always follows with giving up something one's heart went into. Heart is where the Empire came from, right? Heart to mend the world from mechanical tyranny is why Unki kept herself in Shiro's company.
Shiro's emptied tea cup was collected and set beside her own. The little spoons clank inside each cup. Her sigh was a tad on the shaky side but she was able to keep herself together. "I know we hadn't been apart for too long. I did do some things. Not too much." Only saved a business. Burned a house. Little things here and there. Unki started to play with the frilly lace on her one of her sleeves before she opted to furrow her brows and suddenly sway her sleeves around. "You didn't bring the frilly pink one the ruffled but you brought the stupid lacy collar that goes it with!" With her clothing complaint filed Unki flapped her sleeves one more time before hurling herself into Shiro's ribs. Her next complaint came through, muffled, in the fabric of his clothes. "It wvas nice-e that you-u set clothes out for me but i can't sleep if i don't know where to sleep! I can sleep outside!" One state of emotion was dropped and swapped like a snap of her fingers was enough to shove out her sadness. Unki had totally no issue imposing her weight on his person. "Where is my bed even at? This place is too big!" Her face was mushing into Shiro's shoulder. I don't know what colors you picked out for EVERYTHING and nothing I have to sleep on better turn out to be drabby and dull like that one comforter you brought home! " Unki topped off her whine with one big, warm sigh into the fabric of her husband's sleeve.

Shiro could only listen and, when impacted by his wife hold her in his arms with a smile. Stroking her hair he smiled when she brought up the comforter,"Ill give you some money tomorrow, or hell tonight if you want. To go with a couple of the assistants and buy new fittings and clothes should you like. This place is our home now and I want you to be comfortable in it. Hell I already had my library moved and everything." Sliding his arms up under Unki he smiled and easily stood, his strength turning her weight into nothingness,"We have a guest to entertain." He could not only sense it, but he could see the attendant out of their place.
Carrying Unki princess style he absently made his way through the house until he reached the library. Setting her down he took her hand in his and entered the room to see.. His friend. Not the guest he had anticipated so quickly, but one he appreciated greatly none the less. Giving his friend a wave in the form of a raised hand he smiled and dipped his head,"Kenshin, I didnt expect you for a few days at the earliest. Everything alright?" Taking a seat on the worn couch opposite of the new one he made a space for Unki to join him. At this point, he was close enough to Kenshin to throw formality far out of the window. Even without the mans knowing he wasn't too far down the succession line after all.

The thought of rdecorating all over again felt good just a few moments before the headache she remembered the first time around with planning each room. "Th-this is home now?" Home? He decided to just get up and move everything just like that? A fairly defeated look appeared on her face as Shiro scooped her up in his arms. Unki let her body go limp like cooked noodles briefly, after Shiro had her form secure in his arms, as she tried to take in how sudden these changes were unfolding. I thought this was like a summer house.
As he whisked her inside, Unki ceased her noodleness and waited out being carried. No objections. A squirm here and there because her hair was being pulled in the wedge between her back and Shiro's arm. He ended up taking her through to "new" places in the house which Unki hadn't found yet, the library included on the tour. Simple commentary came and went with Shiro's path. "I don't like this room." and simple comments of approval came with delighted kicking motions when they passed through another room. Ooh! I like this one!" After Shiro set Unki back down, she let him pass first as she looked around and checked out the arrangment. Sticking her tongue out some as she caught eye of a completely good empty space on the wall. "Needs a thingy there. She perked up as Shiro greeted Kenshin. What little blip of tongue she stuck up suddenly zipped back behind her lips and she chose to skitter her way to Shiro's side. Before she sat down she took the second to fix her hair with a somewhat dramatic fluffing gesture and smoothed out her dress before practically falling backwards into the worn couch. She had no shoes on.
This was not the Unki that Kenshin might have last seen. Despite her childlike behavior Unki still sought to give Kenshin the same befitting amount of attention one should an important guest.

__ Kenshin's eyes wandered over the impressive library but felt uncomfortable by it. He was not inclined toward reading not only because of his poor early childhood education but also because absorbing eclectic knowledge was a form of rebellious anticonformity in his view. When he heard footsteps from the hallway he stood in anticipation. Once they entered he took a knee until they sat on the sofa and then he responded in kind by returning to his seat. "I wasn't going to make you wait that long, your majesty." This was a truthful statement but he did omit the information regarding his contentious resignation from the Arashikage's advisory. He was able to continue his duties as the police force captain with Ada as his lieutenant which was all that truly mattered to him as far as work was concerned. He unintentionally avoided eye contact with the empress because truthfully he was always uncomfortable around women. He was only truly at ease with female officers in the APD who he knew well like Ada and Selina. He was also at a loss regarding how to address them as it was quite different from the bluntness he was accustomed to with other men. "To answer the substance of your summons, I'm unable to help you. My uncle and his sons died in battle so my grandfather is likely continuing his reign. I'm sure he has other relatives he'd choose before me to succeed him. My father was delegitimized when he went rogue from Kumo and when I arrived at Lord Hyuuga's doorstep he granted me access to the village but refused to legitimize me. That's why I chose the last name Kosei and why I'm not Kenshin Hyuuga." Kenshin's past was dark and complex but he tried to speak as plainly and succinctly as possible. Shiro took his time listening to Kenshin and analyzing what he was saying. It wasnt wrong in the slightest. After all traditionally such a birth would never inherit. Yet, here he was getting ready to play the political game once more. Leaning forward he pulled a small shogi board from under the table and arranged the pieces into two three sections. "I am not good at wording things so try to bare with me." Pointing to each group in turn he continued,"Here we have you and those who support you. There we have those who support the legitimate heir, whoever that may be at this point. Finally we have those who are undecided and are therefor an unknown variable. By siding with neither they dont technically support either of you but are not against either of you. They will kind of go wherever they are told to go. In the future you will come to understand that most people in this world fall into this third category." Taking a seat next to Unki he wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close in a sideways embrace. "Kenshin I am going to endorse your succession as leader of the Hyuuga. I am even willing to make you a noble. Cant give you anything major like Marquee or the like, but I can find something for you. More than a couple of the nobility died in the battle. Those lanes will need to be filled for things to function smoothly. If you are concerned about complaints from the rest of the nobility then give them results the cannot argue with. Your a good vangaurd leader and a good officer. But nobility means politics and requires a great deal of foresight. Something I will help you work on if you would like."

__ Kenshin looked at the game board and understood the general idea despite never having played shogi before. He watched the pieces move about in the demonstration and it was clear that there were opportunities for new alliances. He stood and followed him and nodded in confirmation that he could read the religious passage to him. When the Emperor mentioned what it took to get to his position Kenshin nearly shook his head. He knew that Shiro was the rightful Raikage and chose to follow him. It was the hardest choice he ever made, his Kage or his Lord Daimyo. The Daimyo ruled by right of all the laws in the land but he had a deeper law of loyalty to follow his Kage who appointed him. The difference in Kenshin's mind between Shiro and Toso was that Shiro was forging a new nation from a position of strength. War was not a matter of law after all. Toso, on the other hand, decided to secede from his nation for isolationism and to pretend that a village was a nation which it was clearly not.
When the men sat across each other again he was forced to nod in agreement. "I accept." It was clear that his sovereign needed his help to keep the nobility in line. This was now his duty to uphold because he intended to keep his citizenship status to the empire and the village intact. What Kenshin wanted was to stay at his police post until the end of his days but his desires were completely immaterial compared to his new obligations. When foresight was mentioned as the most important element of their strategy he stroked his chin and thought quietly for a couple of minutes. "I wouldn't want some fancy palace to die in, your majesty. I'd want a post in the mountain range at the western end of the Lightning Country, right at the neck. It's rugged and untouched by the noble class from what I understand. Maybe an imperial stronghold of some sort with a town. You could garrison your soldiers there to protect the road through the mountains." He stared at the large map of the empire framed on the wall. Such a situation would give him plenty to do besides only pointlessly sitting around holding court and squabbling over borders or minor glories with other nobles. Becoming a sentinel of the western Lightning Country would allow him and the rest of the clan to be the first line of defense against land invaders. He could protect the empire and the sanctioned lands of the Storm village at the same time. It would also allow him to be far away from the nonsense of the Spire. As for other strategies, he spent more time quietly considering. "As you know, it's too early to press my claim. They haven't even buried Jiro and his sons yet. But my grandfather is a very old man with few apparent options for an heir. With your influence, directly or indirectly, he might be forced to legitimize me himself. If that doesn't happen within the next few years then we'll have to be forceful, but that's the most troublesome outcome." He fell silent as he looked at Shiro and waited to hear his own thoughts. The idea of him leaving the police force behind was an uncomfortable one but he needed to at least consider the opportunity that he was being presented with to contribute to not only the Empire but Arashigakure at the same time.

We'll need to see what fate has in store as well." There was always the possibility that this would not work the way he and Shiro wanted because of unpredictable elements in politics. "I'll take my leave unless you have more to discuss." Kenshin would wait a few moments before leaving unless Shiro had any further business.

Mr. Kenshin was very militant, if that was the appropriate word and careful in the way of going to great lengths to devote his whole being to focus on the attention of one person and one subject. No room for dilly dallying and no room for error. His lack of eye-contact to her, even being smack-dab against Shiro’s person, was reminiscent to her previous complaint about not being taken seriously enough by Arashi bound forces. When one isn’t around long enough it’s easy to be forgotten, right? Although, really, Unki found Kenshin to be one too mannerly to just blow her off heartlessly. The lack of eye contact and formalities were together a concern best set aside and she courteously listened to the two until the end.
He made his leaving not too long and with good timing. Shiro’s affectionate petting of her hair was kicking up again and Unki was beginning to feel her shoulders tense in front of a brand new guest. She could bet a subtle uneasy look was on track of working its way onto her face if the police chief was needed to stick around.
Unki was feeling free enough to wiggle away but she didn’t. They were alone again meaning she could instead roll about off her beloved’s shoulder and plant her head on the top of his thigh and look up at him (and the ceiling). But her attention was teetering between Shiro and the room itself with shelving lining the wall. Around them was the book collection which multiplied over a short span of time. If this was the same library as before, in the Cloud, what else was the same as before? How empty was their old home now if this place was going to be their new home? Was a seasonal home not good enough?
”Why on earth did you decide to come all the way out here and bother moving all of this stuff? I totally get they we're talking about our stuff but I'm walking into this from out of the blue. What all did you bring if this is supposedly our home now?” Her question came with an active observation of her limited view from Shiro’s leg with her neck turning one way to the next, arms flailing one way and another, and reached her own conclusion to boot before she’d hear any answers out of him. ”That’s almost a whole floor to empty out back home. A whole floor, that is, if you did all what I think you could have! ” The ‘whole floor’ being referenced was the space devoted to their ordinary living spaces. She wasn’t tallying in the possible truth that new furniture could have been brought in to the picture lieu of familiar pieces. But aside from furniture there were surely little things like matching delicate dinnerware in need of transportation, her favorite cast iron pan; the custom salt and pepper shakers, and her jewelry box. Oh, may some otherworldly force preserve Shiro from Unki's wrath should he have forgotten the jewelry box! Forget the ornate tea room furniture set, away with the monogrammed towel with the little hole in the corner, damn the one-of-a-kind room divider with the ocean wave paintings! The jewelry box was the one material object she couldn't take on her journey without worry of the worn, antiquated little box falling apart on her. Actually leaving Shiro's lap to go looking around to answer her materialistic wonders was an option but one she felt more interested in hearing a sneak-preview about what was in store for her.
”Maybe I overreacted earlier. Maybe you did bring the pink ruffle dress and I just missed it.” These were little thoughts making their way to her voice before she could completely process them into questions. Thinking out loud. Flailing her lacy sleeves gently with a stretching reach to the ceiling. ”If your clothes were packed that means my clothes were packed. That's a lot of junk to pack. And not junk.” Apparently clothes now fall under the "junk" category having lost grace from the "stuff" category. Then with hands still high above her face, Unki began tapping her finger tips together as if she were quietly counting something before coming to a sudden stop and clasping her hands together.
Her hands fall to her chest as she finally looks back up at Shiro, battering her eyelashes, to wait for an answer. The first of one of many questions.
