User Image Jean quietly opened the door of the library and left a few other freshlings through who were on the other side, giving them a small smile and a nod as they walked by. He then went in himself, intent on returning a couple of novels that he had borrowed and renting a couple more. He dropped them into the return bin and started to wander over to the shelves when he thought he spotted... someone familiar. He took a few steps back to be able to take a closer look and... it was Snowlily! The classmate that had managed to spill all of her art supplies on him! He hoped that she was a bit less clumsy now, or at least others weren't calling her that.

He walked over to say hi, but when he started to get closer, he could tell that she was most likely looking for something. He wondered if he could help her in some way. "Snowlily! Are you looking for something?" He asked when he finally got within speaking distance. He didn't want to yell at her across the library, he would have gotten in trouble for that. He did make sure to keep it at a lower volume though. He just hoped that he hadn't surprised her too much.

SnowLily was trying to find a book on art techniques for her age range and was having no luck. It seemed most of the books for more advanced students. Sighing she was about to give up when she heard a familiar voice.

Turning too quickly she stumbled and down she went. She laughed softly as she went down on her butt, she couldn't help it. This was all her fault not being clumsy as usual.

Looking up she saw that Red Beret and started laughing in earnest. She could not help it, she seemed to always act like a clumsy dolt in front of this freshling.

"I was looking for a book on art techniques but there are none in my age range she said trying to stop laughing.

"I'm sorry I can't help but to laugh, I am so clumsy! smiling to herself. "What brings you to the library? she asked as she pushed to her feet.

Jean could only shake his head and offer one of his slightly bigger hands out to her. Eventually they would become quite large like regular Sluagh hands, but for now they were only a bit bigger than the average Freshling's. "Let me help you up." He said, waiting for her to either accept or reject the offer.

"Did you look in the computer, I'm sure they have books for your age!" He would be surprised if they didn't. After all, practice makes perfect, especially when it's something so inspirational as art. One could have inspiration, but without having the talent to actually create it, well, everyone needed to start somewhere right?

"I'm here because I was wanting to check out a couple more detective novels. I finished the ones I had so now I want to read more. I was just heading over to that section. But, I can't leave someone who needs my help. I can help you look for a book! I'm sure there's one here. And hopefully someone hasn't checked it out already!" The unfortunate thing about libraries in general, but especially school libraries, were that they only had one copy of whatever novel or book they had in stock. Even the most popular series would only have one copy of each book at a time. A silly way to manage at least to Jean, but he wasn't the one in charge.

"Thank you I appreciate the help up, afraid I will trip over nothing again" with that said she giggled again.

Getting to her feet she noticed his hands were a bit larger than hers, curious she stared at them as her hands were in his. She suddenly realized that may be rude so she asked ""I like your hands, their big and strong, why?" with that she shuffled her feet a bit hoping she did not offend him by asking him that.

He seemed to really like detective novels, she tried to read one and got bored with it. Reading was not something she liked to do, only when necessary or if the book was on a subject she enjoyed such as art. She knew everyone was different and some preferred to read more than others, she just preferred to create art instead.

He was talking to her and she heard him offer to help her find a book on art techniques for her age range and she smiled. He was very helpful.

"I would love the help, in all honesty, I am not that familiar with the library. I do not like to read that much and only when necessary. I rather create art instead. That a bad thing?" she scrunched up her cheeks and nose as she asked the question. Most she asked that told her she needed to attend to her studies more than art, but art made her feel alive and free.

Jean grinned, feeling no offense. "I'm a Sluagh! My hands and arms are going to be a lot bigger when I get older!" He hoped that they wouldn't get in the way of his detective work. Perhaps he could have a partner that had smaller hands and who would be able to go into smaller places? He wasn't sure what the point of his race's large hands though. Sluagh were more agile and could run quite fast. Were the large hands supposed to help with balance since they didn't have tails?

He shook his head. "Of course not! We're all interested in different things, that's what makes all of us so unique. We can't all be interested in the same things. That would make it boring wouldn't it?" He answered with a smile. He appreciated artists. They made the world more lively and could bring to life only things that were in one's imagination. "It's quite amazing what artists can do. I'm quite envious. I would love to see some of your art one day." He said, before tugging on her hand a bit. "Come on, we can go to the computers to see if there's anything!"

When she heard the word "Slaugh" she was curious. She can not recall ever seeing one before and wanted to ask questions. He seemed to be friendly about himself so maybe he would answer a few if she asked him.

She felt a tug on her hand as he spoke of uniqueness and not all interested in the same thing then something about computers. She followed behind him as he leads the way.

As they were walking she asked him "I have never seen a Slaugh before or if I have I can not remember, do your hands have a purpose? I am asking from an artistic point of view, your hands makes me want to create some art. I want to use that as inspiration!" her voice got sharp and a little loud at the end and she winced.

"Sorry, I get very excited about art." looking around hoping she did not bother anyone in the immediate area. She hated being the center of attention, it really made her feel uncomfortable.

She thought she saw the librarian out of the corner of her eye so she quickly put her head down and watched her feet. She concentrated hard on her steps so she did not trip, fall or bump into anyone or anything. The librarian did not seem to like her very much as it is and did not want to get her angry.

Jean shrugged. "I'm not sure exactly. I know that my race can adapt pretty easily to living just about everywhere, but I'm not sure where the arms come into place. We're pretty agile, so I think it's more of a balance to make sure that we don't trip and fall while running or something. Sort of like Nekos and other races having tails that they can use to balance. But that's all I've thought of." He wasn't sure if even if his elders knew. They were so used to being with the cherub, he wondered sometimes if they really knew what their appearance was for.

"It's okay! It's good to be excited about something. It's hard when you don't know what to do and don't have any strong interests." He had seen it before, seniors who didn't know what they wanted to do, and some who didn't get the chance to try new things out to even see if they really liked it. It was king of sad really.

He lead them over to the computers, put his card information into one of them, and then headed over to the search. There was a search function, and he used the filter "Freshling" to narrow down the search, and art as the main word.

And with that, a few books popped up. Not many, but at least 3. Two of them had been checked out however, so he showed her the one that was still supposedly available. "Do you think you'd be interested in that one?"

She listened as he explained what he knew about his race as they made their way through the library towards the computers.

She had only used the computers once so she was unsure which ones they should use so she was thankful to follow his lead, he seemed so sure of himself as he quickly entered his information to log in.

As he was typing she thought about what he said in regards to his race. "Agile? I wish I was I trip over my own feet and things that are invisible" she grimaced at the memories of doing just that. She shook her head she did not want to get upset, she knew she was clumsy. Sometimes she laughed about it other times she wanted to cry. Depended on the day for her.

As she was waiting for him to finish with the computer to do the search she looked around the room. There were a few other students at the other computer desks but not that many. They seemed to be engrossed in whatever they were searching for. She turned her attention back to the screen and she saw a few books pop up on the screen. He clicked on something and only one book remained.

He asked her if she would be interested in that book so she leaned closer to read the description and nodded before saying "Yes I would that book is perfect!"[/ii]with a huge smile on her face.

She looked back to find the reference number to help her locate the book and asked him if he would help her look for it since she was unsure of where exactly to go.

"I'd be happy to help!" He said, writing down the number and logging off the computer to make sure that no one else could use it logged in as him. They had been told way too many times about the dangers of that. It was funny though that he was so familiar with the computer. If he went back and talked to the older Sluagh's about what he had been using, they would have thought he was making it all up or something!

He was quite a bit unlike the rest of his race. He wasn't wary of anyone that wasn't a Sluagh or Cherub, and was more interested in getting to know others. He had often been chastised for it, but he couldn't help it. He felt like he didn't belong with the others and where they stayed. He wanted to go out and help others, not be stuck being fearful of them the rest of his life. He knew that his profession was more dangerous too, but he wanted to take that risk.

With the two of them, they went over to the right section and went to look, but it wasn't before long that they both spotted it at the same time. "Looks like it's here! Go ahead and grab it!" Jean said, doing a quick look around to make sure that no one else was heading towards the precious book.

He seemed happy to help her find that book. It was a relief to her that he knew his way around the library. She watched as he logged himself out of the computer. She remembered the librarian was strict about that she understood why but knowing her she would forget and get yelled at for it. One of the reasons she rarely was in here to begin with.

Following behind him as he walked it did not take long to come upon the correct row of books then the hunting began. Scanning the titles and numbers which she still did not understand fully she thought she saw the name of the book she was looking for. She turned to ask him if that was the right one when he said that it was here and to grab it! She turned back and reached for the book. IIt slid off the shelf easily and she was happy.

She turned to him and said "Thank you! I appreciate your help. I hope we can be friends that play together." with that she turned to walk off towards the table to sit down and read over the book. She was to excited to wait to check it out.
