Already a fairly strong team, Shadowsong and Wildflower had to get stronger, together. Not just battle strength, but coordination and trust between the two was more important than ever.
Practice battles allowed for that, and a spot of fun! Never hesitating, the shecat struck first

Since the turn of things, their play was now, in many ways, exactly just that. Less rivalry, more bonding. Wildflower had a lot to learn and her paws were ready for it. She took the blow and let out a huff before trying to return strike.

Wildflower's first hit was more brushing than bruising, but that was perfectly okay. Happily hopping back from the hit, the shecat didn't relent. She pushed off from the hindleges she landed on and went righting back at Wildflower.
Few cats could go paw to paw with her like Wildflower and that made this battle particularly fun!

Shadowsong was really showing why she was about to be the next 'star of all the cats. Her blows were precise and hit hard. But that didn't stop Wildflower. She grinned, rounding on the she cat and lunging.

Her own last attack was a tad overkill, but Wildflower bounced back like the Warrior she was. Her return attack had a little more oomph to it, at least. Ackwnoledging the blow but staking the leg a little, she only gave that moment before leaping back into another attack

There was a bit of wisdom in these lighter hits. Learning how to fight and avoid blows wasn't all about getting hit hard rather learning where you are vulnerable. Like reminding Wildflower to watch her left flank by making a feint attack right to it!

Wildflower hissed but did her best to correct herself and prep to at least dodge the next attack while she struck.

There we go, she got the idea! That blow was felt and Shadowsong shifted her own form. Battling to teach made one forget to watch their own tail. Speaking of tails, might be a good time for a little light tail pounce. Little levity to shake the battle up

Shadowsong compliments Wildflower on her efforts, decides when the two have to fight side by side, she'll be careful to watch the other's flank. Learning each other's weak spots will make them more powerful together.
