One of her assignments in a class was to write an essay in regards to what career was the goal of each student upon graduation.
Cuileann already knew her answer before the teacher even broached the subject of an essay. Books, anything to do with books but specifically she wanted to be a librarian. Books represented knowledge, a bridge to your imagination and an escape from a very trying day. Many times a book provided her an escape from the world for a little while and have her mind filled with adventure, intrigue and romance.
Her essay was 3 pages long she knew it was excessive but her love of books was something she loved to discuss. Most of those who knew her gifted her books they either bought, had or found. Some books she had so many copies of but she did not care she loved them all!
In all honesty, she loved the way books smelled, the feel of the binding and covers, the way the pages sometimes smudged or stuck together and the fact you could have your favorite author sign your copy of their book. There was nothing else better to her then standing in line at the local book store and waiting her turn to have a author sign her book and discuss for a few moments the impact the book has had on her. She always looked forward to these events and had each one marked on her calendars at home and in her locker at school. She did not like it when they were scheduled during class and usually she could not go but every now and then she will ask if she can be excused and why. Most of her teachers allowed this due to the fact she was to discuss books with someone.
She could go on and on all day about books, authors and the like but she knew not everyone wanted to discuss this subject.
