 "AH! No, come back!" Parfait had been out playing with some of her familiars, when suddenly, her fennekit perked her ears up, then took off like a shot. "Noooo!" Parfait jumped up and started racing after her, her little wings flapping as she tried to chase down the familiar, who was just too fast. Suddenly, the grass decided it wanted to play and grabbed Parfait's foot, and she tumbled head first into the grass with an unceremonious "Oomphf!" The sound did make her fennekit stop and look over at her, tail twitching playfully.

Caraway was sitting in the grass reading a book about fairy tales, she was at the part about an imp with very long hair being kept prisoner by an evil geist who wanted her for her magical hair. When she heard someone crash near her, she looked up and saw the hallowed on the ground. She got up sitting her book aside on the blanket she had been sitting on. "Are you alright?" She asked going over to the other freshling. She held her hand out offering to help them up. "I'm Caraway." She said by way of introduction. She looked around trying to figure out what the other freshling had been trying to do.

Oh, someone saw that. She looked up, her black eyes settling on the other freshling. At least it wasn't Eun or Sebastian. She would die from embarrassment otherwise. "Oh, yeah I-" Her eyes went wide and she sat back and reached into her dress, pulling out a rock. "Butterscotch! Are you ok? I'm so sorry I fell on you!" It was most likely she had gotten hurt more from landing on the rock then the rock had. But the small rock familiar slowly opened it's eyes and looked at Parfait, then at the newcomer and blinked slowly. "Ah, that's a relief..." She set the rock in the grass before looking at the strange freshling. "I'm Parfait." She took the girl's hand and stood. "You haven't seen a very purple fennekit with long ears run through here, have you?" She leaned down and scooped up the rock again. "We were playing, and suddenly she took off..."

Caraway wasn't sure what was going on or who Buttercup was, it seemed that the freshling was talking to a rock which was strange since rocks didn't talk back normally, well except for fairy tales, but this wasn't a fairy tale, right? "Hi Parfait, who is Buttercup?" She looked around "Is that your fennekit?" She looked around confused about what was going on. "No I was reading a book and didn't see anything, I only noticed you when I heard the crash so I looked up to see what was going on." She paused a moment "I'll help you find your familiar if you like." She said softly.

"Huh? Oh, no, this is Butterscotch." She held up the gray rock. It slowly opened it's eyes again and blinked at Caraway a couple times, then looked back and forth between the two girls. My fennikit... We were sitting down and I was trying to see what names she liked best, so I was saying some and seeing how she reacted, but then she took off running and I tripped." She rubbed her pet rock before tucking it back into her dress. A few feet away, there was a soft cooing. A long-eared purple fennekit was rolling around on Caraway's blanket.

Caraway looked at the rock familiar blinking at her and blinked back she had never seen a familiar like this before, she didn't have any familiars. "Oh I didn't know there was a rock familiar, I don't have any familiars." She said "Are you alright? You aren't hurt?" She turned and then looked at the hallowed familiar rolling around on her blanket near her book. "Hey, careful." She said distressed. She didn't want her book ruined. She ran towards the familiar not really thinking about anything but saving her book. She rushed over grabbing for the book, grabbing the familiar by mistake. "You shouldn't roll on books." She said gently.

"I'm fine. I've fallen lots of times before. My tail sometimes catches the wind and makes me fall." She waggled her wing-like tail as Caraway turned to her familiar on the blanket. "Oh! There she is!" That was her fennekit. Caraway was faster, and made a dive for her book, but scooped up the familiar instead, and the fluffy thing squealed in surprise, squirming a little before turning her face to Caraway and started licking her repeatedly. "I think she likes you." Parfait hurried over to try and take her familiar back. "You're being so naughty!"

Caraway waved her little demon tail about and then looked at Parfaits little winged tail. Caraway fluttered her fey wings and then looked at Parfait's chimera wings. She blinked her heart-shaped pupils at Parfait they weren't so different, though perhaps Parfait's hallowed nature was easier to see then Caraway's was. "Oh." She said softly Caraway laughed when the fennekit started to lick her. "Your familiar is very sweet, as long as they do not roll around on books." She said on another laugh. She sat the familiar down and moved her book. Then gestured to space on the blanket. "So what were you going to name them?"

Parfait scooped the familiar into her arms. "Well... I tried names like violet and lilac, cause she is purple." The fennekit gave a disapproving snort. "And then we tried art names like glitter." Hearing the name, the familiar stuck her tongue out. "So I tried calling her cupcake, and she ran off." Parfait sighed, then took the offer to sit and settled on the blanket. She sighed, petting the familuar's purple fur. "...so you are reading?" She decided she should learn more about this girl. Even if she didn't name her familiar, she could make a friend.

Caraway considered and then said "Perhaps your familiar wants a name that has more meaning than those names." She brightened up and then said "I am reading a book called Rapunzel, It's about this imp that has really long magical hair and an evil geist keeping her prisoner in a tower." Caraway smiled and then she continued on telling little bits about the summery. "Do you like books?" She asked. She looked around the area they were sitting in it was very much like a grassy park. She liked it since it was normally quiet but this interruption wasn't bad.

"More meaning...?" She didn't know what that meant, but maybe she could find something her familiar liked. "Oh!" When Caraway started talking about the book, Parfait listened intently. "I think I've heard that story before." She smiled. "And a prince climbs her hair to save her, right?" Her smile widened. "Oh, but don't you think that would hurt? Having people climb up your hair sounds hard." She flopped onto her side, bringing her familiar with her. "I like books well enough. Sometimes if I can't fall asleep right away, I'll try to read one without the caretakers knowing I'm still awake."

Caraway nodded and then said "Maybe a name that means purple or flower would be better than a name literally meaning purple or flower. " She smiled and said "Yea that's the story." She touched her own short hair "I can't even imagine having hair that long." She wrinkled her nose. Caraway nodded and then laughed "I live in the dormrooms too my sibling and I don't get along much so I decided to live in the dormrooms instead of trying to live with my sibling who doesn't like me reading." She said with a sigh "I hide under the blankets to read late at night." She said softly.

"Huh. A name that means flower... or purple... I guess I can look into some of those." She looked down at her familiar who was settling into her lap for a nap. Looks like she'd be here a while. "Oooh, really long hair would be so hard!" She couldn't imagine it either. "And you have siblings? I bet they'd pull on your hair if it was too long!" She didn't have any siblings, so she didn't really know how they'd behave. But when Caraway mentioned hiding under the blankets to read, Parfait giggled and nodded. "I'll have to try and get better at that. I think people see the light through the sheets and that's how I keep getting caught."

Caraway smiled she liked Parfait they were really nice. "Yes I have one sibling they don't like me very much because I like reading more than playing the games they like." She made a face. She laughed and then said "I double layer the blankets reading is very important to me it's my favorite thing, what about you? What's your favorite thing?" She didn't think that no siblings meant that Parfait didn't have a family at all that hadn't occurred to her.

Parfait listened. That was a really good idea! "Double blankets..." As long as it didn't get too hot, she figured that she should be fine and nodded. "I like reading, but I like playing with my familiars more. I take Butterscotch with me everywhere and we learn about all kinds of neat things together." She really just liked talking to the rock because it helped her retain the things she learned better.
She scooted closer to Caraway to look at the book she was reading. She wasn't familiar with the story, but maybe spending the rest of the day reading with her new friend would be a fine way to end the afternoon.
