That card is so AWESOME, lmao. Reminds me of Szadak.
Its cool though that the player loses life, not takes damage, for the simple fact that there are plenty things to deal with damage. Life loss is another story though.

Well, the card is from Alliances; a set that wouldn't surprise me if it was older than you. It is not type 2 legal, but outside of that set, there are no restrictions or bannings. You may notice that the discard can be a bit of a downer, but try to find a way to create some synergy with other card abilities, like Madness or flashback, or cards like like Squee, Goblin Nabob, or Glory, or anythingelsethathasagraveyardeffect.

in most decks that i might discard in, i usually play (i think it is called) library of reng. you can put the card on top of ur library instead of discarding them. much better than spellbook. (also gives infinite hand size)
