Chambersite stretched his arms out, and then relaxed them once again. How long had it been since he had gone out? Not too long, but long enough that it felt... weird. Like he had been missing so much. But he knew he hadn't been missing much. Nothing seemed to have happened in the time that he had been gone. Except for some tournament he heard about. He would have entered himself, but had forgotten to sign up for it. Hopefully it would be available next year though.

Tonight though he was out hunting for some energy to gather. He still refused to get starseeds. That one time in December had been... enough for quite a while. He still couldn't understand the reasoning behind going after the seeds versus energy. He supposed some people just lived for hurting others though.

When he landed on one of the rooftops near downtown though, he felt the chaotic aura of another individual nearby, one he hadn't felt before. He was sure that it wasn't a Dark Mirror this time and thank goodness for that, but it didn't feel like and agent either. Could it be a corrupt? He went to go have a look.

Aletheia was bored. Like, watching paint dry while during a blizzard level bored. She'd gone out tonight for the sole purpose of finding something to do... And because some higher up had gotten on her case. On some level she could understand, it was hard for her to hear that she'd fallen behind, but would it have killed someone to let her know what was expected? She wasn't exactly new, yeah, but she needed more information. She could have easily added it to her planner. Hell, she could have made a brand new planner for this. Now it felt like a moot point.

All grumbling aside, tonight was shaping up to be a bad night for target hunting. Or maybe she was just terrible at looking for them. She kept coming up with excuses, too. Can't disrupt anything that would make it hard for her to get baking supplies. Her favorite arts and crafts store was strictly off limits, EVEN if they'd refused to reserve all that pink glitter for her that one time. Wasn't there someone just itching to get messed with? Some unfortunate goon out for a late night jog? There had to be something.

As she mulled over her choices from her perch upon an apartment building, the familiar sense of another chaos officer grabbed her attention. Crap. Had someone been sent to make sure she was doing what she was told? She paused, considered her situation, and moved to crouch behind a brick structure on top of the apartment. She could check to see who they were from this position and decide if she wanted to engage. If they looked too high of a rank, though, she'd have to come up with something very convincing if they found her.

No worries! Hopefully this is alright, LOL. She's such a noob.

Chambersite was about to move onto the next rooftop when he thought he saw movement. He took a few steps forward and called out, "I saw you! Who's there?" They seemed to be pretty new, or at least their aura didn't feel that strong. "I'm not here to yell at you or anything." He said, making sure that they knew he wasn't here to punish them.

Because when one was in the Negaverse, sometimes there were those who were more than... happy to dispense pain of sorts.

Really though, he was just curious as to who it was. He had obviously never met them. He wasn't sure how much he could trust his fellow agents in all of this, but he wanted to make more connections. As "structured" as the Negaverse was, it was still quite fragmented in his opinion.

Aletheia stood on her tip toes and squinted at Chambersite. Huh. He didn't look that threatening or intimidating. He'd even said that he wasn't here to punish her... But then again, how would he know she was trying to avoid being yelled at? He could have been sent by someone higher up to trick her. Very suspicious.

Then again, if he'd been sent specifically to find her, why had he questioned who was there? He would have had to know if he'd been trailing her, right? She furrowed her brows, sighed, and leaned out from her hiding place.

"Hi." She greeted, checking left and right before fully leaving her post. "Sorry about that. I uh-"

She paused, glancing away as she thought of an excuse. She couldn't say she was hiding from him in case he was a higher up, that would be embarrassing and likely come back to bite her. Still, there wasn't much else she could say... She swallowed her pride.

"- Thought I sensed someone too strong for me to fight on my own and thought it would be best if I hid and waited for backup." She lied. Not very convincing, but maybe it would make her look less stupid in the long run? Maybe.

One of Chambersite's eyebrows rose on it's own as he tried to understand what was going on right now. It was a corrupt, who had, not very well, tried to hide herself from him by hiding behind some sort of brick structure on the building. He also hadn't felt any other auras in the area, so clearly she had either felt the aura and it was now gone, or she was lying to him to make the situation a little less embarrassing for her.

He sighed, shaking his head at the entire thing. "Right. You know you aren't going to be able to hide from your fellow agents right? Only Chaos Guardian Cats can do that." Or so he had read. He hadn't actually had a conversation with one yet. "I'm not sure why you were hiding but it doesn't really matter. I also don't blame you though." He admitted. After all, there were quite a few agents who... didn't seem to care who they hurt. He only hoped that by reporting them that they were getting punished like they should.

"I'm Chambersite." It was about time he introduced himself anyway. "I was just looking for some people to drain energy from. Didn't expect to meet up with a corrupt tonight though. But that's not a bad thing." He hadn't really talked to one before at least.

"What are you doing out here anyway? You having trouble draining people?" Sometimes he wondered why certain people were recruited into the Negaverse. Perhaps more were forced into it than he realized.

Aletheia winced. Oof, talk about a swing and a miss! Lying wouldn't seem to help her here, no matter how convincing she tried to be. Begrudgingly, it looked like facing embarrassment was the better option here. She took a breath and nervously cleared her throat.

"You caught me there, I'll give you that." She admitted, moving to fold her arms before he introduced himself. She offered him a manicured hand to shake. "I'm Aletheia. I've been sent out here to fulfill some quota that I didn't even know I had. Would it kill someone to set up a reminder system or something?"

She laughed nervously and immediately made a face at herself. Okay, enough trying to play it off. This guy was looking for energy too and she'd come up with every excuse there was in the book not to get any on her own. Maybe he'd be willing to help her out if she asked? She rubbed the back of her neck.

"Look, in all honesty, I'm afraid to ruin what good things I've got going when I'm not doing this, if you know what I mean." She explained, waving a hand around as she thought. She was pretty sure she sounded like a moron. "But, like, if I don't get something done tonight I think I'm going to get a metaphorical axe to the head. I want to find people to drain that aren't important to me in other ways so I can please the higher ups without ruining everything else I love, but I can't seem to find anyone like that tonight. Do you mind helping me out, since we're both doing the same thing?"

Chambersite nodded. He knew that he also avoided people he knew, that he liked at least. Those that he didn't he was sure to drain them if he ever saw them. "That's understandable. And it can be hard sometimes. It's easier to go after criminals you know? But sometimes they just don't want to show themselves." He said, taking a quick look around.

When he turned back to the corrupt he offered his help. "I can help you tonight if you want, and even share some energy if you need it. And I understand feeling a bit lost. If you don't have someone to report you to tell you these things, then how are you supposed to know?" Why they didn't get some sort of handbook or something when they were recruited he didn't know. He would have thought that there was at least some reading material that they could have when one was new.

"Though we might not be able to find any 'bad' guys. If they aren't around, then usually I go after people who are already out and it wouldn't be a surprise to find them sleeping on a bench or something." He said, motioning for her to follow him. "I know a small park near here where there should be at least a few people with weather this nice." He took a few steps forward, before looking back behind him to see if the corrupt was following him.

Oh thank God he was willing to help. Aletheia felt every muscle she'd been tensing out of fear relax and, frankly, felt a little less alone in this. He understood how she was feeling and how difficult it was to deal with having little to no direction. Finally, someone she might be able to talk to and connect with. She took a deep, cleansing, breath.

"Thank you. You have no idea how much of a relief this is to me." She said, following his lead as he motioned her forward. "I thought everyone else was a-okay with reckless destruction and carelessness except for me. I mean, we are chaos and that's awesome, but I think a little bit of social organization might do us some good? Like, would it be so much trouble to give each new recruit a trainer? Heh-heh..."

Okay, now she was rambling. She had to pull herself back.

"Anyway, the park sounds like a good start." She agreed, tenting her fingers. "I'll follow your lead."

Chambersite let out a sigh. "It's silly, but even though the Negaverse is supposed to have a "military-like" structure-" Chambersite said, putting the words in air quotes, "We seem to be very disorganized about it all." He admitted, before motioning for the corrupt to follow him as he jumped across the building.

He was quiet until they made their way to the park, and he landed on the ground, waiting for the Corrupt. When she arrived he nodded to her and telling her that they needed to be quiet for a bit. Luckily he hadn't sensed any Order characters or any Dark Mirrors around, so they should have had the park to themselves.

As he went into the trees to look at the path, the stayed in the darkness, looking around and noticing that there was a man near one of the benches, and if he was hearing correctly, there was someone else coming. When Chambersite was finally able to see the two of them, he watched them for a bit and grinned, turning back to the corrupt. "Seems like a drug deal going down. You want to take one and I'll take the other? It'll be easy to catch them off guard." He whispered to her, but making sure that she could still hear him. After all, even if they didn't have the teleportation abilities of higher-ranking agents, they still had the speed.

Aletheia blinked twice. Yeah, if this were some kind of military force, shouldn't the higher ups be more vigilant about keeping people together and conformed? ... Well, maybe she shouldn't be complaining about it so much. She didn't want someone breathing down her neck twenty four seven and checking up on her. There had to be room for balance somewhere.

She kept close to Chambersite as they landed in the park and breathed a sigh of relief. No other strong energies nearby. It seemed like this would be relatively easy for them if they didn't, somehow, mess it up. She let her gaze drift around the area slowly and jumped a bit as Chambersite pointed out the men in the distance. She grinned deviously.

"Sure, it'll be fun to see the looks on their faces." She agreed, motioning him forward. "Take your pick and I'll grab the other!"

Well now, this is a change. He thought, grinning at her. At first he had even wondered why the corrupt had been brought into the Negaverse in the first place, but she seemed eager to drain these two. He wouldn't have to be dragging someone who was nervous about this behind him and having to do all of the work!

"I'll take the one on the left. You can take the right." He replied, and then started to make his way over to the two, making sure that he still couldn't be seen right away.

When he was close enough, he rushed to the left one, and tapped the man on his shoulder. Just as the drug-dealer was going to cuss him out and turning around, Chambersite punched him. Tiny flying packets of white stuff flew in the air a bit, and Chambersite couldn't stop the disgusted face that he made when he saw them.

He bent down to the unconscious dealer and he started to drain the dealer, not worrying about the other man who seemed to be in too much shock from what was happening.

Aletheia noted the grin on Chambersite's face and echoed it with a sneaky, and somewhat adorable, smile of her own. She wasn't entirely sure why they were sharing this little moment, but given the context of the situation, they were probably both happy to find people worth draining. For her, it meant she'd be able to wake up tomorrow and go to the store without trouble and start to fill that quota the higher ups were so eager for her to get to. That alone took a huge weight off her chest.

She nodded toward him as he made his way across and made a dash for her target when he punched his. She hopped over the bench and landed a nice, swift kick against her target's side. Once he was on the ground, she moved to stand over him and smirked.

"Sorry, not sorry." She laughed, thrusting another kick into his head. Then, she knelt to start draining him, but not before looking back to Chambersite with a grin. "Pretty easy. Don't know what I was so worked up about before. Thanks for the confidence boost!"

When Chambersite was almost done draining he looked up at Aletheia and nodded. "Yeah, if you're going up against civilians, it's usually easy, at least if there aren't any Order characters around. Though it can be nerve-wracking if you're not sure where to find them. After all, you don't want to be seen while doing it. And..." He trailed off for a bit, not sure if he should say what he was going to next, but decided he needed to in the end.

"Sometimes Agents don't want to drain people that they know are innocent. A lot of them do, but others, it can be hard to work yourself up to going after people who you know aren't going to go and rob a store or trying to shoot someone." It hadn't been too hard for him at least. But when he was pressured into killing those carolers for their starseeds... it had been a step too far, even if he had done it quite easily.

He stood up and pocketed the energy that he had drained. ""I'm glad that I could help though. I don't know why they just like to thrust lieutenants out in the world with no training, so it can be intimidating at times."

Well, of course civilians were easy to kick around, but when it came to draining the life out of people you knew weren't terrible to begin with... That's where she struggled the most. Actually, to be more blunt, it was difficult for her to drain people who she knew were useful to her as a civilian. After all, if your favorite supply store closed because you killed off the owner it made it made getting your projects done insanely difficult. She supposed that she could simply drain the energy from people who competed with her for products, but that seemed a little unfair and cruel.

Maybe, though, she had to stop thinking about that so much and just get down to business. A benefit to her should outweigh her conscience, right? Her lips twisted in thought.

"I think they think we're like baby birds or something." She reasoned, tossing a lock of hair over her shoulder as she continued to drain her target. The hue of purple that the energy was pretty... There was some inspiration in even the most grim of ideas, she supposed. "They just shove us out of the nest and hope we fly. Then, later if we can't, they punch us? I dunno. Seems counterproductive."

She pulled the last of the energy toward herself and admired it for a moment, then she pushed it into the roses on her skirt. It took some focus until she felt like it would stay put and she took a deep breath in through her nose and let it out. Then, she turned back to Chambersite.

"I guess we just... Leave them here?" She said, nudging the lifeless body of her target with her foot. "I'd offer to try to hide them, but they look gross and I'd like to... Not get corpse smell on me."

Chambersite was agreeing with her until she mentioned corpse smell. His eyes widened, and he looked at the lifeless body of the two victims that they had now used.

His mouth opened, and closed, and then opened again. And then he let out a laugh. He laughed and laughed and laughed so hard that he felt his sides starting to hurt. Once he could finally speak again, he was still trying to fight back his laughter as he said, "You" giggle "you actually killed him!" Another one escaped. "You killed him just draining him!" He said, getting a few more laughs out.

Then he stood up, no longer laughing like he was, but still couldn't keep himself from giggling. He moved to wipe a tear from his eye that had formed from the uncontrollable laughter. "Woah. You must have really needed that energy. Most people, if they go for the kill, go for the starseed. I have never seen someone kill someone else just by draining them too much!" He let out a big, entertained sigh. "That, that was a first. An entertaining first though. I'll move my guy so he's not next to a dead person. As much as I hate drug dealers, and I'm sure he's seen a few corpses, I certainly wouldn't want to be next to the smell either." He said, grabbing his victim by the shoulders and moving him behind a tree, before going back to the corrupt. "You surprised me. I suggest next time going for the starseed if you want to kill someone. It's a lot more powerful than energy. Though I guess he can reincarnate still now. You gave him that at least." He couldn't help but let out a few giggles remembering it.

"You can leave him here. I'm sure they'll just say he died of an overdose or something. Or a heart attack." She surprised him! But it was a first. He wondered if it was harder for basic corrupt to drain people without killing them. Still, it made for an entertaining night!

He 100% isn't making fun of her. He thinks it's both awesome/hilarious.
