The tournament is taking place in the Castle in Negaspace, in a large room that has been designated towards the event. It is very spacious and there is a ring where the participants will fight, as well as seats around it for viewers. You are greeted by General Aurostibite and General Xenotime standing off to the side to monitor

The rules are simple: fight your opponent using whatever methods you have available to you - physical strength or magic - and whoever is left standing at the end is the winner! Aurostibite adds, in a tone of voice that doesn't quite indicate whether he's joking or not, to please try not to kill anyone.

Quote:
OOC RULES:

- Battles must be completed within 72 hours. If you are unable to do so, or something happens that prevents things or slows you down, you can just roll the dice without adding in RP to determine the outcome. However, please do your best to RP out the battle, this option is only for those situations where it becomes necessary to do so.

- Dice rolling is mandatory! I know it can be frustrating but this keeps everything fair and even.

- Anyone is free to pop into a battle RP, they are open to spectators, whether you are participating in the tournament or not! Any Negaverse agent or Corrupt or Corrupt Cat is free to view the battles, regardless of whether or not they were in signups.

- If you have any questions, please contact kuropeco or Beejoux through Discord or PM!

Quote:
THE MECHANICS

There will be 2d20 rolled in each intro post. The person with the higher number is the first to attack!

Lieutenant / Basics - 20 HP / 1d8-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
Captain / Super - 30 HP / 1d10-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
General / Eternal - 40 HP / 1d12-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)

( how it works: roll the dice - if you get a 4, subtract 2 = your attack is 2! and so on and so forth. If you get a 6, subtract 2 = your attack is 4! )

Roll dice -> RP out attack -> wait for opponent to attack back -> roll dice again until someone's HP is depleted first!

The person the higher HP at the end of the battle (or the one that does not reach 0) is the winner!

Quote:
DEFENSIVE / HEALING MAGIC

For healing magic: roll 1d4 (first stage), 1d6 (second stage), 1d8 (third stage); whatever number you roll is how much HP you gain back. This takes the place of your attack roll for your turn.

For defensive magic it must be rolled PRIOR to the next attack. Roll the same dice as above, and subtract that amount from the damage done by your opponent.

i.e. :

- Person A rolls a 6 instead of rolling for an attack
- Person B attacks with 7 damage
- Person A receives 1 damage (7-6)

All in all, Mali seemed unimpressed with his opponent. Nothing against them, of course. They were just another random Lieutenant in another random battle. Only this time, people were watching.

How strange it was, to be put on display like this. A tournament while people were meant to be ‘fighting’ the senshi and ‘defending Earth’ seemed a little confusing but... What did he care?

Ultimately, it didn’t matter.

Once in the ring, opponent assessed, he took a battle stance, and the moment they were told to begin, he charged forward.

For as little as he knew about his opponent, there would be clear differences between them in strength, such was the fate of the senshi, so rather than fight hard, he would have to fight smart.

The first hit was dealt, aimed for the other’s shoulder to try to knock them off balance, and after contact was made, Mali turned on his heel to try to get out of the way of any retaliation.

Quartz settled forward on his seat, elbows resting on his knees, and waited for the match to begin. In his experience, it was rare for the younger fighters in the tournament to demonstrate much that was useful for their files in the tournament. Whatever skills they possessed were too often fresh, unhoned; they'd learn to develop their real fighting style and instincts over time and with training. It was the advanced ranks that were most worth taking notes on, when they'd already settled into their style.

But in this case, the lieutenant facing off against the sailor soldier in the ring was his lieutenant. And while he'd trained Idrialite that his first priority should be avoiding combat and gathering intelligence, he'd also emphasized that violence was inevitable and that Idrialite needed to be prepared to avoid dying however possible.

Now to see how well these efforts had been put into practice.

Nubi

Of course Nubi was in the stands to cheer for her twin. He was up against an Agent, which meant he was at a little bit of a disadvantage. They were simply physically stronger, but if he could find a good chance to use his magic, he could tip the tides in his favor. Or, at the very least, seriously creep out everyone who was watching, herself included.

In her arms was their little poofball, Obie, so the little Mau could spectate the battle as well. When Mali managed to land a decent hit she smiled and debated being the embarrassing siblings that cheered in the stands. Maybe she shouldn't. That would probably distract him. Since he'd definitely shoot a glare in her direction. Instead she gave a dignified clap, as best as she could with arms full of kitten.

Obie

Obie was a little nervous when she heard the twins would be taking place in the Tournament. Did she really want to watch them get hurt? It wasn't like they were out on patrol. She could step in there, here she could only watch. It was at least her duty to sit in and watch though, cheer them on from the sidelines.

Of course Mali was able to strike first. She knew he would play this smart, even if he wasn't exactly a heavy hitter. Honestly, she expected him to do better than Nubi at least. She was more likely to treat this like a game, where he would be more level headed about it.

Seeing as Nubi didn't outright cheer, she supposed that would have to be her job. "You can do it Mali!" Her small voice carried out from the stands.

Lieutenant Idrialite
HP: 16
DMG: 6

Idrialite considered his opponent. Tall, though just a few inches shorter than Idrialite himself, and built more like a runner than a fighter. Physically fit, and at the very least, presumably confident in his fighting ability, if he had entered int he tournament.

Also unarmed, by nature of being a Senshi. Idrialite's sense of fair play cried to get rid of his weapon, but that was stupid, and if the Negaverse had taught him one thing, it was that fair play was for suckers who wanted to get dead.

Speaking of that particular lesson, his eyes briefly scanned the crowd for the one who had done his best to impart it. Quartz was present--which made the need to break his first-round losing streak all the more potent.

His opponent was quick, and unhesitating. Impressive. The almost immediately delivered strike to his shoulder made Idrialite hiss in pain, but he shifted quickly to respond, taking advantage of his long reach and long weapon to aim for the Senshi's back as he retreated with the butt of his musket. A hard strike from behind could give him a pressable advantage, going forward.

The hit was solid, but before he could recover, his opponent landed a nice hit right on his spine, causing him to lose balance and stumble forward. Pain shot up his back, and he fell to his knees for just a moment before rolling back around to glare coldly at the Lieutenant.

Mali could hear his little kitten calling out to him, cheering him on, but even he knew he needed a moment to catch his breath.

“Zube’s Game.” So very softly he called his attack, summoning his little automaton and winding it up just a tad before tossing it to Idrialite’s feet. It didn’t need to hit him directly, no. The attack would take over his movements, then explode, allowing the senshi just enough time to rise to his feet and realign that sore spot in his back.

Sailor Scout Attack: Zube's Game
Mali Summons a Small Automaton named Zube and winds him up and places it on the ground. The Automaton is not activated until an opponent sees it, and can be picked up and placed elsewhere by Mali or another of his allies. Once someone looks at the doll, they are forced to approach it and follow Zube's Pre-installed Movements which goes as follows

"Three steps to the Left, Three steps to the right, Spin in Place, Raise right hand, left hand behind back, and Bow"

This action preoccupies the user for 5 seconds, and at the end of the 'performance', Zube explodes. The explosion is is minor, and is only strong enough send the opponent back a few feet, but no other damage is sustained

Cavansite wandered into the stands to watch ‘Mali’s fight as well. It was only fair that she support all of her lot, even if this one in particular didn’t…quite like her.

Honestly, she was quite convinced that he didn’t like her at all.

But, it didn’t matter. She wanted to be here for him. Wanted him to know that he was supported by his General. She didn’t want there to be any doubts of what she thought of him.

She eased herself into a seat next to ‘Nubi and wrapped an arm around the senshi’s shoulders. “How is he doing? He seems to be holding his own so far. I’m proud of him. Proud of you both.”

Her eyes moved down to the kitten in ‘Nubi’s lap. “And who is this little cutie? You didn’t tell me that you found yourselves a mauvian! You will always be full of surprises, won’t you?”

Senshi magic. Idrialite absolutely hated it. He glanced down at his opponent, which was clearly a mistake, because it meant he also spotted the tiny little thing--and instantly found himself following its bizarre, automatic movement patterns.

Reduced to a toy soldier, which, in the end, was all he ever was. This was, he figured, something of a metaphor for his entire existence within the Negaverse; a toy, repeating predetermined movements, to no end--or no good end.

Whent he little toy exploded, he went stumbling back, and had no chance to even attempt to strike out at his opponent. Damn. A perfect opportunity utterly wasted.

Despite the success of his attack, whatever nerve his opponent had hit was worse off than he thought. A brief moment of honesty crossed his face, a deep scowl that had him muttering curses as he tried to stand again.

It didn't work until he gave his back a rather loud and solid crack that was only muffled by the sound of the toy exploding. No attacking just yet, just some pitiful display of a young Senshi weaker than any other Lieutenant out there.

How he loathed them.

Idrialite almost felt guilty, advancing on the Senshi who was still clearly injured, but he needed to make sure that he did well. This time, he aimed for the front, swinging the front end of the toy at the Senshi's stomach. He put force behind it--but it still wouldn't be near as brutal a blow as the butt.

Mali did not appreciate the attack while he was still working in recovery, it making contact directly to his thinly covered belly and serving to push him back further again.

This time though, he braces himself, grabbing the end of that toy and pulling it forward, past him, and aiming an elbow to the Lieutenant's chin once he came close enough.

Lieutenant Idrialite
HP: 8
DMG: 1

Idrialite was fairly certain that when most people referred to "taking something on the chin," it was metaphorical. Here, though, it was literal; no time to get out of the Senshi's way, and only another weak smack with the toy musket in response. All the little hits were beginning to add up, and Idrialite had to admit, he was less than pleased. Still.

"That was a good strike." No reason to be impolite, after all.

Fighting up close was not something Mali was used to at all. His powers, his mind, it all focused on being stealthy, attacking those who who were less than a little unaware of their situation.

Being up close, giving minor, petty attacks at each round was annoying as hell. Whether or not it was an elbow to the chin or a little whack to the side with a toy, it wasn't the damage he'd like to deal when fighting, and to him, quite embarrassing, especially knowing that his sister, or worse, Vivre could see him.

Having had enough, he put his foot against the Lieutenant's thigh, shoving him away and placing some proper distance between themselves, maybe digging his heel in just a bit harder to do some sort of damage.

While he did want to respond to the compliment, 'Mali knew his mouth was locked shut for now. There were no compliments in a fight, he wasn't that sort of kind-spirited person, no, he wanted to see this man in the dirt and go back to the stands to see the next person fight. All he could manage was a little "Hm." in acknowledgement as he prepared for the next attack.

Engage. Distract. Multi-task.

Idrialite was doing what he was taught. There were a dozen ways to catch people off-guard, to get them to lose their focus, and that usually resulted in a net positive: either they'd make a mistake in their actions or in their words, something that would cost them. The human mind was powerfully skilled at many things -- but splitting a person's focus could always lead to opportunities, if you pressed at the right moment. Idrialite was doing his best to shift the tide of the conflict into something he could work with. That was good. Quartz was pleased.

Nubi was a little bit surprised by how friendly Cavansite was being. Mali was always telling her to act proper in front of other Generals and inside Negaspace. It made her happy that her General wasn't some stiff, looking out to bark orders and expect them to fear her. Fear didn't work for her. So a smile lit up her face as her General placed and arm around her, and she leaned into it.

"He's doing great. As expected. Mali's smart, so I expect him to do well despite the physical difference." And he was doing just that. She did wince a bit when it seemed like the Lieutenants weapon did a number on his back.

"Shake it off Mali!" Not that he had time to worry about it, but when the Agent went for another swing, this time Mali used it to his advantage. Earning another round of claps from his twin.

When Cavansite asked about Obie she smiled and gave the little mauv a scratch behind her ears. "This here is Obscura, we call her Obie for short. Mali was actually the one who named her."

------------------------------

Obie was watching the battle intently, she had only noticed the presence of the General when Nubi shifted to be more comfortable. She glanced over for a moment and knew who she had to be from the way the twins had described their General. So this was the person who had saved them that night. She knew the story, mostly from Nubi.

She was keeping her eyes on the battle for now though, a little concerned that Mali's back injury might be something serious seeing as he took his time to sort himself out again before going back on the offensive. She was very proud of him for using the Agent's weapon against him. It reminded her that her was the smart twin after all. Nubi might never give up and give the Negaverse her all, But Mali would always be cautious and smart about everything he did.

She tuned back into the conversation between Nubi and her General when she heard her name and she looked over toward brightly colored General. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I've heard nothing but good things." Mostly from Nubi, Mali didn't seem to have much of an opinion about her. Other then the fact he had been corrupted on his sister's whim. It was something he was still struggling with, she knew that from her time with Mali. Still, it was good to see her here, showing support for the both of them.
