"I'm going for a walk mom!" Beatrice said as he quickly slipped out of the door before his mother could reply. Once the door was closed he rubbed his head a bit. The Valentine's party had become way too crazy which had made him leave. Unfortunately it seemed that his mother was once again struck with fertility and he came home with a baby half-sister who definitely wasn't an angel. Even his mother didn't know who the other parent was, all that they knew was she was caring for the baby for now, and he needed a break!

He walked along the road for a while until he finally reached the city. Though, he wasn't sure what he wanted to do in it. Maybe he would find some cafe or something that he could eat at and just hang out for a bit. And try to get rid of this headache.

He rubbed his head again, but unfortunately wasn't looking where he was going, trying to will the pain away, and bumped into someone else. He jumped back in surprise, wondering what he had hit, when he realized that he had hit another pae! "Sorry! I didn't mean to bump into you!" He said, flustered that such an embarrassing thing had happened to him.

Beatrice blushed as he looked at the girl that he had bumped into. She was quite pretty, and the ears and tail just made her look even cuter. He had to catch himself though, he didn't want it to look like he was staring. He had tried to help her off of the ground, but she had been too quick for him, and he had to quickly move his hand behind his head so that he didn't look like an idiot.

"Well that's uh... good." Beatrice said, trying to come up with words to say and not have them come out as a garbled mess. "Uh, I'm Beatrice! Can I ask what your name is?" He had been taught that it was polite to ask if someone was willing to give their name. His mother had taught him that sometimes people didn't like to do so, and he tried to keep that in mind when meeting anyone new.

"Do you live around here?" He asked, silently hoping that she did. Maybe he could bump into her again at some point if she didn't want to hang out tonight or she couldn't hang out tonight... he hoped it would be the latter. At least she wouldn't be rejecting friendship right away then.

His face became darker as Miriam repeated his name back to him, like she was questioning it. "I didn't choose it! My mom did!" Honestly, why had she chosen that name? She said it was for anyone, but he was embarrassed by it time and time again.

She seemed to be talking, but Beatrice's head was still filled with put-downs about his name until he heard her changing the subject, and immediately pounced on the opportunity. "Yes!" He said, voice cracking a bit as his vocal chords decided that they would waver a bit. He shook his head, and when he was done, hoped that his voice was a bit more steady. "I mean, yes! That sounds good!" He wanted to say interesting, but they were just errands. Would they really be that interesting?

Miriam was interesting, but the errands probably wouldn't be. Hopefully he could focus less on the errands and they could get to know each other more, even as just friends. "Would you uh, like to lead? Since I don't know where you need to go and all." He said, blushing a bit more. He needed to talk to others a bit more like his mom said. He really didn't like to think about her being right.
