She knew she had no business being out. Albireo knew that she was even a little afraid of being out still after what had happened the other night with the corrupts but…
But still. Her heart went out to them…and she hoped that the purple haired one wasn’t too unhappy still. She hadn’t heard what had been the problem but…
But it wasn’t her problem. She had almost died. And now here she was, back by the edge of that very same lake. Her lake. She liked this lake. Always had but…It was stupid to be here so soon.
Thankfully there wasn’t any chaotic auras that she could feel in the area and that put her at least a little at ease, and the soft feeling of another super senshi only served to relax her even more.
Albireo wasn’t one to go and force herself into other people’s business…not anymore. It didn’t help anyone to be an overeager brat who tried to insert themselves into other people’s patrols. No, she would sit here, soaking her sore feet once again…and if company came, she would be more than happy to talk. She wanted to talk.
…She was perhaps just a little gunshy.

It was only by chance that Acrucis had even spotted the other senshi. A glimmer of white against an otherwise black backdrop as moonlight illuminated her elegant form. Had her fuku been of a darker pallet, she would have simply left the girl to her own devices and headed home; mingling with chaos was a dangerous game to play especially this late at night. Yet curiosity lined with a healthy amount of concern is what ultimately drove her to power up for the first time in several months. Acrucis paused before finally stepping between two bushes. “Hello?” her voice was quiet, almost as if she were scared that if she spoke any louder it would break the tranquility that surrounded the lake.

When she heard the voice, Albireo couldn’t help but smile and she glanced over, seeing a pretty senshi dressed in blues and golds. “Hey there. Have you come to join me, because I wouldn’t mind that at all.”
Her feet were dangling in the water still and she leaned back, yawning as her attention moved to the star filled heavens above the both of them. Her star was up there. And perhaps…perhaps she would go and visit it again sometime.
Not now though. Not today.
Quietly she glanced back to the other senshi and patted the grass beside her. “When I say I wouldn’t mind…I actually mean that I was kind of really hoping you’d come over. I could use a friend. I’m Albireo, Senshi of Swans.”
She hoped that the other girl would come and sit with her. Maybe she could ask about homeworlds and starseeds. Corruption and purification. There was so much in Albireo’s mind that she just couldn’t find the words to say. She was always so careful about not saying too much around Tavi…he had forgotten everything about being in the Negaverse and she again forgot about being…Nina. Odette. Everyone she had been before.
But she was happier now. Olivia was happier.
“It’s nice to meet you.”

So many walls had been built up over the last few years that when Albireo asked her to take a seat, Acrucis nearly declined. Like a cold lance to the heart she actually felt numb by her instant response. How did things get so bad? She wondered to herself as the cold reaction melted and bled into that of guilt. Years ago, when she had been newly awakened, she would have been all too eager to meet someone new no matter their faction; but now… Acrucis was sure her reluctance showed. It was an unfair response to give someone who had been nothing but polite so far and so, with great hesitation, the Senshi of Prayer took a seat, just a few feet away, from Albiero. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt you. I was honestly just wanting to make sure you were ok, that you weren’t hurt.” No matter how badly her heart had been broken, that was one facet of her personality that couldn’t be broken; the genuine care and worry she felt towards others who who may be hurt or in need of help. It is why, despite not powering up for quite some time, she had chosen a career in the medical field. Just because she was a Senshi it didn’t mean she could rely on magic for everything. A hard pill to swallow but was something she had learned to accept a while ago. “My name is Acrucis.” she offered her name in kind with a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips but didn’t quite reach her eyes. “ I’m the Senshi of Prayer. Or rather healing…”

“You didn’t interrupt anything. I just…really enjoy this lake and it’s a nice place to soak my feet after dancing for most of the day.” Albireo tucked a lock of hair behind her ear and let her eyes move back across the lake for a moment before sighing and flopping backwards on the ground, arms spreading out from her sides. “I’m not hurt. But it means a lot that you were worried.”
Her eyes were back on the stars again and for one wild moment, it felt as though she would simply fall off of the earth and disappear into the sea of darkness and stars. Though…wasn’t that just the whole war? Darkness and stars…?
She glanced back towards the other senshi and gave a smile of her own. “The senshi of prayer? That’s an interesting sphere! You heal people? I just…”
For a moment, Albireo felt her cheeks going red. “…I just make a lot of noise. I’m quite useless, let me tell you.”

“I wouldn’t say that’s useless. Going out alone might make things difficult but I do think your abilities may be more suited for a group or team.” Unlike Sidouer who could handle herself flying solo with offensive magic, there were others, like herself, who did not fare well when patrolling alone. “I’ll admit, my healing really isn’t something to be envious about. I find that it’s never as strong as I need it to be.” Turning her head to look out across the lake, Acrucis’ gaze became distant if not sad. “It is only really helpful towards moderate injuries but useless against ailments.” Which is why she had been gathering pearlescent beads from her homeworld. So far she had collected two but planned to search for more when time allowed. "I'll continue to do what I can though." The smile on her lips fell short of reaching her oceanic colored eyes that looked near black had it not of been for the reflection of the moon of the surface of the lake. Her expression spoke of turbulent times that have not been forgotten, a heavy weight on her frail shoulders and yet, somehow, here she was still standing.

“I am better suited for a team, but I always find myself too shy to ever…look for one. The last time I did a group activity…” She shrugged. “I can’t even really remember ever doing one. But…” Albireo glanced at the other senshi and sighed. “I suppose the not remembering is my own fault.”
She watched Acrucis for a long moment and then moved closer, hesitating a moment before putting a gentle arm across her shoulders and feeling a slight twinge of worry.
Hadn’t she been so bogged down with cares when she had gone and allowed herself to be corrupted? Hadn’t she worn expressions like that before she made a terrible mistake that did nothing to help her feel better?
“…Do you want to talk about whatever’s on your mind? I’m so sorry if this is forward…but you really look as though you could use a friend right now…and I would be happy to fill that role. Because I could really use one too.” She debated just telling her story, but bit it back. Telling a perfectly random stranger that you had not only given yourself up to chaos once and then gotten tired of the life you were brought into…wasn’t the best of ways to make a friend. It didn’t really speak of her loyalty at all.
“I’ve only really got my um…husband? I think we’re married.” She had taken his last name when they had come back…but…there had been no ceremony. There was no ring. But…that didn’t really matter too much.

Acrucis blinked back in surprise, but after a moment's hesitation, allowed herself to lean into Albero’s gentle embrace. How long had it been since someone other than her family actually gave her a hug or a partial one at that, she wondered. Too long, she realized, with how foreign it felt. “Whatever your relationship is with him.” The Senshi of Prayer’s soft-spoken voice broke the pregnant silence after some time had passed. “Keep him close, and keep each other safe. This war… it is heedless in the way it tends to destroy what is most important to us.” “You know that better than most though, don’t you?” She didn’t miss the way Albiero took the blame for her own memory loss. Though Acrucis had never actually spoken to someone who had switched sides, she was aware of one of the consequences of doing so. Despite only being a super senshi, you don’t survive this long without learning a few things along the way.

She didn’t move away from the other senshi, only sighed and hugged her a little more tightly. “Yeah. I do. Don’t listen when the darkness calls to you. It speaks such sweet lies. Family. Friendship. The ability to begin to erase whatever mistakes you made in the past.”
Albireo hadn’t meant to say it. Hadn’t meant to give this girl her life story but…her words gave her the courage to keep talking. To share what was on her mind. In her heart.
“But all I got from their lies was a life that I couldn’t remember with a boyfriend who yearned for who I had been…I had never felt so isolated…of course I came back and now he has forgotten the entire war, and again I think…he yearns for who I was…though I don’t remember that either. I’m trying so hard now though. I want us to make it. I want to give us whatever fighting chance we can have…”
She gave a wry, almost bitter smile. “He’s stronger than me now. I suppose my punishment for changing my mind again was now I am a super senshi once again…I don’t think I really mind though. It doesn’t…make me that much of a target.”
Finally Albireo shut her mouth and gave a soft sigh. “Wow. And now I think I understand why I have no friends. I apologize for running on like that…you didn’t want to know my life story…ah…” The cloud of depression that was always just on the edge of things seemed to come back and settle on her shoulders once again. It was getting old and she tried to shove it off, though all she really did was remove her arm from Acrucis’ shoulders.
“I’m sorry.”

The Senshi of Prayer turned to look at Sailor Albireo, her head tilted to the side with her brows furrowed in a confused fashion. “Don’t be sorry.” Her tone was lightly scolding but almost in a motherly kind of way, which was probably odd given that they were around the same age. “Those people weren’t really good friends to you if they weren’t willing to take time and listed. Especially during these difficult times as you’re trying to figure things out.” Then again, she knew full well that not everyone was equipt with the patience to allow someone to unburden themselves; and those that did often found it difficult to not take on that weight as their own. “It’s poisonous to your health to keep these things inside.” “At least you don’t have to carry the weight of keeping secrets from your loved one as many of us often have to do.” How many times had she nearly let her own parents in on who she was or what she could do? Same with Tristan; three years they had been going strong but separation due to school had inevitably been what had caused them to part ways. Thankfully there was Delilah, for a time at least. But as all good things often do, that too came to an abrupt end. In a single moment, their paths diverged in opposite directions. Both fighting on the same side but their values and opinions strongly differed from one another, and that had been the wedge that ripped them apart. It had left a hollow spot in her already broken heart, a place that had yet to be filled. "Just be yourself. No one can fault you for that." Acrucis offered her a soft smile then reached over to give her hand a gentle squeeze to reassure Albireo that she truly meant what she had said.

No, she didn’t have to keep any secrets for she had no family any longer. All she had was Tavi. Quietly, Albireo closed her eyes and let out a soft sigh, nodding. “That’s true. I don’t have to keep any secrets any longer but.” Again she looked at the senshi and managed a smile. “It’s hard to be myself when I don’t know who I was. Twice I’ve lost who…whoever I was. I only remember the war. I only remember being a traitor…twice. I remember Jarosite. I remember corrupting…kind of. I remember being miserable and lonely but…”
She shrugged and looked down at their hands, squeezing back gently.
“I want to be happy. I want more memories that I can look back on. I want something that will help me smile…would you…maybe want to go and do something in…ah. Real life? I have no idea what. Maybe we can do something strange like…ice skating or bowling! I’d like to go bowling!”
Her mind was beginning to churn out new images. Eating lunch with a friend. Laughing as she made a fool out of herself while doing whatever activity that they planned on…
Albireo wanted it. Badly.
“We can do lunch too, make a day of it…what…what do you say, Acrucis?” There was hope rising in her eyes and she looked at the other senshi imploringly.

"I'd like that," Acrucis smiled warmly at the other senshi then powered down beside her. Her aura vanished instantly and in place of the blue and white fuku was nothing more than a simple pair of jeans, a dark grey coat and a comfortable pair of black Sketchers. "My name is Hannah," reaching into her purse she pulled out her phone. "We can swap numbers if you would like."

Albireo watched and gave a happy smile, her green eyes growing as bright as springtime as she let her own glamour fade. “I’m Olivia. I would absolutely love to exchange numbers.”
She was in a pair of loose jeans as well, with an open windbreaker over a leotard. “When are you free, Hannah?” It gave Olivia a thrill of excitement to be making plans with someone. To have made a friend.
Quietly, the redhead opened up the contacts list on her phone and passed it over. “Here you go.” She tugged her jacked a little closer as a chill breeze blew up around the two. “I’m…really excited. I don’t think…that I had any friends before. When I was with the Negaverse, I mean. Though, I won’t lie I don’t remember much. I didn’t power up often, I guess…”
She was beginning to ramble and quickly snapped her mouth shut. “…I’m just a little nervous too, I guess…”

“No worries,” Hannah entered her contact information into Olivia’s cell phone and handed it back to her. “I’ve been picking up extra hours at work, so as long as we plan something a few weeks ahead of time I can make sure to leave the day open.” One of the downsides of working in a hospital and a clinic is that they both seem to always unexplainably be short staffed. Not that she minded the over time since it kept her mind busy and filled the void of loneliness.

Olivia nodded and hugged her phone eagerly, texting a smile face and a sort message that this was indeed her to Hannah’s phone in return.
“Then…it’s all set! I’ll find a good date and a good place…and I’ll text you!”
Most likely often…she wanted to text her often. About stupid things. About everything.
Well. Maybe eventually.
Quietly, the redhead stood up and stretched, holding her hands out to help Hanna up as well. “…Guess we should be getting home. It’s pretty late. I…I’ll text you soon. I promise.” And it was a promise that she fully intended to keep. From the bottom of her heart.
