Ugh... I'm having such an eating problem.
I'm sure most of you don't know that I have that eating disorder where you're constantly snacking because you're depressed/angry/stressed/bored/etc. I'm really wanting to get rid of it, because it's just not good for me. I'm at risk of diabetes because my blood sugar is so high and I have high cholesterol for someone my age. Plus, I wouldn't mind losing about 50 lbs in the future, and this eating problem REALLY isn't helping. X_X
I've tried chewing gum, drinking water instead of eating, drinking diet soda instead of eating, or trying to find healthier alternatives--- but after those run out, I'm back to my old ways or I find stuff to just pig out on.
I've been snacking a lot today, and I've felt like crap for hours. I really feel like I have no self control. sweatdrop

Aww. -hugs- I think I know how you feel, actually. I'm like that. I eat without even realising it.
I find that if I just keep myself busy, I don't eat so often. Not so much as actually going out and finding something to do, but if I sit and play a game, or colour, or do just about anything that requires a tiny amount of thought, then I don't eat.
.... of course, then I get to the point where I'll go a day or two without eating because I'm too locked on the game. sweatdrop

It makes me so sad. It's like... somewhere within the past two years, I suddenly started to be unable to keep myself from eating all the time. I remember back a few years ago, I used to go through out the entire day on just a bowl of cereal and a sandwich. Sure, that wasn't exactly much healthier than what I do now, but at least I wasn't taking in 1000+ calories that I didn't need. gonk

I used to do it without realizing, but I bitched myself out enough times that now I finally realize when I'm about to do it, and I'm able to stop myself.

Warm poptarts before school!" but something went horribly wrong... when i bit into it...the filling burned the skin off my bottum lip. crying Damn...evil poptarts. I eat like that sometimes. But more specifically I eat when I'm lonely. I know that started when I was little and left alone in the house with my grandmother who had a brain disease and would sleep 18 hours of the day and be groggy for the rest. As a treat my uncle and my mom would bring home snacks for me to eat...and let's just say it has only escalated from there. Doing something helps me not to feel lonely. Now I eat when someone is in the house with me and not when I'm alone. It helps...I don't bindge eat...often. sweatdrop

I'm sorry to hear that. =/
I'd suggest not to drink diet soda though. Even if it might not have sugar, it still will raise your blood pressure which won't be good. Maybe buy a large supply of gum and water and maybe little low fat food snacks around your house. And throw out any fatty foods that might not be healthy for you. I hope things get better for you! Sorry if I wasn't that much help... sweatdrop

aww *hugs* i use to be that way when i was 12. But now i have to eat more because i only eat dinner. Sure i lose alot of weight since i dont drink pop and drink tea and eat healthier (exp. for tonight i had 'Toco Hell' ghetto mexican food) But thats all i eat usually unless someone is putting tasty snack foods in m face then i give in ^^" Well how about instead of drinking pop drink tea with Sweet n low. And if snacking try an apple or oranges and such. For meals eat smaller portions and of course excersise (unless it makes you gain weight like it does me @.@) maybe that will help ^^"

Try not to cut down too much, I wrote my university thesis on binge eating and restricting your food intake too much makes it worse - it was found that individuals were more likely to binge eat after a period of dieting. Its been mentioned already but I reckon the best idea is, rather than cutting down your food intake so that you feel hungry, replace all the bad stuff with good stuff like fruit and veg. Thats what I'm attempting to do right now, everytime I feel the urge to snack, rather than going hungry I fill myself up on apples or raw carrots or strawberries, the trick is just not to let them run out! I'm exactly the same, if I've finished all the healthy snacks I will hunt the house til I find something to munch on.

I haven't cared about my diet in awhile, I've been too busy tending to the kiddies and keeping the house clean, but I really do need to get back on track if I want to meet my goal of being 140-150 pounds. I need to increase my water intake and get veggies and prepare them the night before that way if I get the munchies I have something already made...I'm the kind of person that if it's too much fuss to make something, I'll go for convience and that usually not the best thing, heh sweatdrop Mmmm...poptarts

I would have to agree. In the battle of the bulge good intentions are just that good i n t e n t i o n s. I always wake up with a plan to loose weight but I always give up on it. Who has the time to prepare veggies and fruit dishes all the time? Besides my boys always beat me to the healthy snacks. I hate most veggies so it's especialy hard for me to eat healthy. However I am about to start a whole new life style that should help the cause. One of the major changes I have made is that I have began a card night atleast once or twice a week. If I have company I eat less because I tend to eat out of boardom . Yes I am an emotional eater. redface There I said it.

something I've found I'm able to do is buy fat free chips like Lay's WOW! brand. But don't have twice the amount of chips as you would regular ones if that's something you snack on, have the same amount. then GRADUALLY cut down

I'm not a big pop-tart fan myself. However I can list the foods I love that do not love me back:
Big Fluffy Fruist Filled Pastrys: Aka Pie, Turnovers, Croissants Cakes: Especially Black Forrest, Red Velvet, Chocolate and Cheesecake Cheese: Just about any kind Hot Dogs, beef kind preferably covered in chili, cheese, onions and mustard Pepperoni or BBQ Pizza Mexican Food, especially Chimicangas
Yeah, those are my favorites. I hate pasta and I'm not a big rice fan. Usually if it's fattening, I like it. I eat when I'm bored, or upset a lot of the time. I also overeat when I like something because I eat it too fast sad
I've been trying to keep on hand fruits because their sweet. Like right now in the fridge is fruit salad, watermelon, cantalope, blue berries and I believe honeydew and cherries, all fresh and thrown together.
