- So you want to grow your Nightmare, but the colorist who originally made your nightmare has retired. That's okay - we've got you covered! If you have completed the growth requirements (listed below for your convenience), we can get started.
Rules for Retired Colorist Growths
- You may only post a form here if the colorist who originally made your pet is no longer an active colorist on staff. These colorists are:

Please note that this list does not include Embi-lamb, who would prefer to take care of all of jyr own growths. If you need a pet grown that was colored by Embi-lamb, please post in the regular Growth Application thread
When applying for a Retired Colorist Growth, all growth requirements are the same, and are listed below.
Colorists may choose to opt in and out of growing Retired Colorist kids as is convenient to them. They will be going through this thread regularly and picking up growths in the chronological order they were posted. When a colorist claims a growth, they will spoiler the entire contents of the post and make a note of who made the claim.
Colorists reserve the right to skip over a post under extenuating circumstances, such as triggers, etc. If this is the case, the colorist in question will notify staff in private so the form is not missed.
You may not indicate a preference toward which colorist takes your form, nor may you quote any specific colorists in your growth posts in this thread. If you wish for a specific colorist to grow your kid, we recommend attempting to bribe or custom a growth in their specific customs thread.

Freshling to Junior:
- 2 finished roleplays* that have at least ten posts per roleplay (five posts per person, min of 100 words per post).
1 roleplay that shows what the freshling wants to be when they grow up, or a life changing event. This can be a solo. (Solo rps must be 250 words minimum!)
Have passed all core classes except Life Skills for academy - Freshlings do not take the Life Skills class. Found here.
It has been one month since the freshling stage was dropped off.
Junior to Senior:
- 2 finished roleplays* with at least ten posts per roleplay (five posts per person, min of 100 words per post).
1 roleplay that shows how they've matured (or lack of maturity), or a life changing event. This can be a solo. (Solo rps must be 250 words minimum!)
Have passed all core classes at the Junior level and two electives. Found here.
It has been one month since the junior stage was dropped off.
*Event ORPs threads do not count towards growth requirements, as they are shop hosted RPs. Privately hosted ORPs are exempt from this. NOTE: META events DO count for growths, as they are world changing events. You may use them for your character's life changing event RP or as a general RP requirement.
Customization for Growths
- If your Nightmare or Daydream was a premade (this includes breeding kids) or a franken, you may choose the base they grow into! You may also offer suggestions on their clothing and hair style as well. Colorists have the right to tweak designs as they see fit, or as their personal abilities will allow.
If your Nightmare or Daydream was a custom (Gold, RLC, or otherwise - semicustom counts here as well), you get to dictate their appearance in the next stage, minus anything that would break lore or break consistency (i.e., you cannot change body parts, like going from an imp tail to a demon tail).
** NEW You may not request dyed hair, coloured contacts, additional markings, or heavy body edits (such as shaved imp or grimm tails) to your NMs/DDs upon growth. This is primarily to avoid confusion for artists when it comes to future breedings. This will help prevent race mix-ups, and keep inherited colors and markings from being confused with IC body mods.
**NEW You may request tattoos on growths from Junior to Senior
but please bear in mind that it is up to the colorist growing your NM/DD to actually do the tattoo--
if you are requesting something highly intricate, the colorist has the right to refuse or alter the design as they see fit. Body modifications CAN be IC, even if they are not on the official art.
