 Solar Flare had finished some odd jobs and headed into the nearest town to buy some supplies. The sensible pony in him said the cheapest things that could last the longest. And then there was a candy shop, he stared at it for a moment before getting a sly look on his face. Oh he could just go buy one piece right? He headed into the store and hoped that he could be strong enough not to spend his entire budget on candy. And then the smell hit him of my great sugar high utopia!! He looked like a star struck pony lost in the door way of the shop. It had been so long since he last had a piece of candy.

 So far this pop up shop had been doing fairly well in the busier area, even if Samaar was deeply wishing that he was back at his little candy shop(Shack) back in the Whispering Willows where it was quiet and shadowy. Where there weren't so many ponies that might stare at him with wide eyes over the fact that he was a simple Ghoulie. But at least there had been quite a few thrilled customers who had been so excited about his candy that it had him nearly vibrating, which caused his tail to hum happily and almost purr. Thanks to selling quite so much he was switching out trays of little ornate treats, hand made with his sharp claws into various shapes of leaves and skulls and even flowers and things, when a customer that nearly startled him out of his skin walked in.
If they hadn't looked so... like fire... then he might not have ruffled up so much, all the hair on his tail standing on end as it swung around to look at the fire colored pony with... what exactly? Not look. Samaar pressed a paw to his chest a bit and pushed his mane back a little so it wasn't hanging just down in his eyes.
"More candy... soon." the tail rumbled as the Ghoulie went back to switching out the trays. "What like?" It was still looking at the fiery pony carefully even though how it was watching them was unknown.

Solar Flare seemed to take a guarded stance when the ghoulie got spooked. Probably his training kicking in more then anything quick movements and the like not startling him but just putting his guard up.
"I do apologize if I startled you." Solar Flare spoke but he worried that it was because of his bandages. Some ponies were fine with them, some showed concern and others were a little freaked out about the bandage covered face.
The pony seemed fascinated he had come across Ghoulies before in his travels but never really got to speak with one at length. " Oh...hmmm I'm not sure its been so long since I allowed myself a treat...and they all look so good." Solar came closer to get a better look at the candies that were being put out on the shelf. " What do you recommend? He asked curiously. "Oh how rude of me, my name is Solar Flare, its nice to meet you." He bowed his head a little in greeting.

One ear dropped at bit when the stallion slid into a guard, that hadn't at all been what Samaar had intended but he was just afraid of fire. Once the trays were all swapped out he reached a paw over and brushed the fur down on his tail until it laid flat and was no longer grumbling. One glowing eye glanced out past the long strands of hair that always hung in the Ghoulie's face out at the fire colored pony as he apologized needlessly and a bit of a blush settled over his features. This was all his fault and his tail wasn't as eloquent for these things even if he let it do most of the talking.
"It's okay, just my own fault for being startled by that fiery mane of yours." Despite his large size, Samaar's voice was soft and quiet, as if unused more often. "You don't have to apologize for my foolishness."
While it was very hard to look the other in the face when speaking, once he turned his attention to the candy completely he at least had a moment to relax. Given that he was already talking it wouldn't be too much of a stress to continue, so the Ghoulie sat his paws up on the counter and smiled, "You can call me Samaar. And... well, do you like fruit or chocolate more?" The sweets went from rather generic to ones that he hand crafted himself every morning, so he had to get an exact for the stallion so he could get a smile. Or at least make him happy, that was the goal after all!

"My mane?" Solar's own glowing green eye looked up at his hair. Dang he had never thought it looked like fire till now. He shook the feeling from himself that came with thinking about fire. "I never thought about it looking like fire before...I'm not a huge fan of fire..." He eyed his hair for a moment before looking back to the Ghoulie.
"That's a nice name, does it mean anything?" Solar asked he was the curious type always asking questions. "Oh most definitely fruit flavored things. Sometimes I like sour candies as well." Solar was more then happy to be talking about candy it was a very different conversation for this serious pony to have.

Slowly, really quietly, Samaar gave a chuckle at the pony's question about their own mane, but there was a smile in the tone all the same. "At least as living embodiment's of fire go... you aren't nearly as terrifying. I'm not such a fan myself." Not something that he often admitted when he was in the presence of others, but then he was already talking when he didn't really do that either, so the thought of it wasn't too bad. His tail could talk for him but it wasn't so good at anything other than grunts and short statements. None of that would help right now.
Plus this pony was...
"Unfortunately it doesn't mean much. Or if it does, mother didn't share it with me." Samaar offered with a chuckle, knowing she hadn't had the time before her fate. That wasn't something to dwell on in the present though as it was far back in the past. Very far. Both of his ears perked up and faced forward when he mentioned fruit candy and the Ghoulie turned his eyes towards the candy he'd just put up, pulling the tray out smoothly. "There are lots of options for fruit, depending on your favorite. These I made before coming here, so they're really fresh." Spread out on the tray were intricate little designed treats, some shaped like specific things and others simple squares with twists and fancies on top. A few were leaves with the edges clearly cut with claws, others were little round balls of pink with a leaf twisted around it, some were designed after owlgriffs and others after the little nomnoms that grew around Samaar's house.
"They all have different flavors, the leaves are apple, the little leaf wrapped cherries taste exactly like that, the owlgriffs are strawberry and the nomnoms are blueberry, grape, and strawberry depending on what color their petals are." Samaar swallowed shyly showing off the different things he'd made in such detail.

Solar supposed it was good that at least he wasn't that terrifying and yet he oddly felt self conscious about his looks which wasn't a normal thing for him. "I know the feeling." He pointed a hoof at his bandages. "Burn scars that don't do well exposed plus they aren't nice to look at anyways..." He sighed a little bit.
"Well it doesn't have to mean anything to be a nice name." Solar commented with a nod of his head.
Solar couldn't help but smile under his bandages, Samaar had a great passion for his candies and Solar admired that. He didn't understand what it was like to have a passion about something but he could see it in others and envied it a bit. "You make them all sound good." He pulled out two bits which was about all he could afford worth. "Why don't you pick me out what ever you think I will like the best." He laid the bits out hoping it was enough for a piece or two he wasn't sure how much the candy was. "I might have another bit to spare if that's not enough, your candy looks so fancy...they are clearly a work of passion." Solar was eager to get to try something even if it was something a little less fancy.

Both of Samaar's ears snapped forward once more when Solar Flare mentioned his burn scars, memories of his mother's cautionary words and what had happened to her as well mulling around in his head as he looked soberly at the bandages. Had... did ponies... do that to one another, as well? The ghoulie swallowed hard and his eyebrows pulled together gently. "Fire can be terrifying for certain, but nothing about you screams 'not nice to look at'." he offered gently, not realizing at first what he'd even said.
A blush settled over his face with realization a moment later, but he hid it a bit by coughing and pretending it was because of the compliment he'd been given. "Well thank you, most don't find it much more than... creepy. But I don't really talk to others either." Samaar had to take a hint of amusement that he was doing so much of that suddenly with this pony but he was very nice to talk to for some reason. Easy to be comfortable.
Peering down at the two bits in front of him, glowing eyes blinking slowly as he debated something for a short moment, one clawed foot reached up to take them and placed them in the register before he picked out five of the best looking of the candies on the tray, two different berry nomnoms, two cherries and a leaf, making certain to lay them out on a clean piece of wax paper before sliding them towards him. "Two bits is perfect, let me know what you think. I love to make candy and treats, but it's much better to watch them be enjoyed." With that statement he placed the tray back in, trying to look busy to hide his nervousness in the hopes that Solar would actually enjoy those candies. "I... I might have some chocolate ones as well, if you wanted to try them too."
Offering up a variety of flavors often made customers happier, or so he'd found. But Solar had asked for fruit so...
