The thought had been itching at the back of his mind for almost a year now. It felt like an itch he couldn't remember, one that set his nerves on edge. There was something he had to do, somewhere he had to go, and it hung on him like a rain cloud. Siegfried found himself staring at the night sky with longing in his chest.

The other knights had said each of them - even he - had a place out in the universe that was solely theirs. A wonder, of sorts.

It tempted him - it called too him - and that pull scared him. It reminded all too well of a different kind of pull that he could only remember physically. A pull and yank against his will, and his appearance at Olympus on Mars was that same pull. It made him question, made him fear, made him curl in on himself. What if his place was destroyed and broken and corrupted? He knew just enough of his old life to know that he had not been order for his entire existence. Had his time on the other side affected his wonder? Would he even be welcomed?

The itch was stronger now, almost demanding, and Sieg found himself unable to ignore it now. He couldn't keep fearing something he'd never seen, right?

"... Thank you for doing this with me, love," he said, glancing over to the Senshi of Swans. He smiled at him, tugging at his sleeves nervously. Having her with him gave him far more courage than he had on his own.

Albireo gave a soft smile, reaching out and taking his hand in her smaller one. “Of course, Siegfried. Why wouldn’t I do this with you…”

Despite the fact that she was still afraid. Still afraid of the very idea of their worlds. Their wonders. Their pasts.

It had been one of the driving factors to push her into the cold arms of chaos before and she was more than a little apprehensive that this trip wouldn’t set her back on the path to making the very same mistake but…

But she wasn’t going up to her own home. She was going to Siegfried…and she knew that her love, her soulmate, her very heart would never let anything happen to her in his own domain. It was a foolish thought, she knew, and she hid her worries behind a benign smile, squeezing the cerulean haired knight’s hand tightly. “I’m ready when you are. Lead the way. Let’s do this.”

The super senshi hoped that things would be alive. Hoped that perhaps the universe would be kinder to her beloved. Hoped that he wouldn’t enter the area and see nothing but destruction and devastation as she had seen on her own world.

Their faults.

The soft, honeyed words of Zinkenite still played through her head, more so now that she had once again met up with him.

If she could just remind herself that it wasn’t her personal fault…than she would be much better off…but. As it stood.

It was a difficult thing to believe.

Siegfried took a breath, holding Albireo's hand in his, and looked towards the stars. The words came to him like he'd always known them, as though he'd said them a thousand times.

"I pledge my life and loyalty to Neptune, and to the Siegfried.
I humbly request your aid, so that in return I may give you mine.
"

There was a pause, a held breath, and then they were gone.

---

Siegfried blinked as the sensation of space travel faded from him and looked around. Palm trees and tropical plants fluttered around them, a breeze tossing their fronds against each other. The breeze brought a smell of salt and the ocean, and he took a deep breath. This was... familiar. So very familiar. It wasn't that he simply recognized the smell. He'd been here before. On this island. How did he know it was an island?

He smiled reassuringly to Albireo, stroking her hair. "We're here, love," said the knight, kissing her temple. She'd been reluctant, he knew, but she'd come anyway. It meant more than she knew. He took her hand and pointed through the trees to his left.

"This way... I think. How do I know that?" he said with a soft chuckle, a confused and amused expression on his face. Giving another smile to his love, he gently tugged her through the trees.

Towards the giant beached ship in the distance that he instinctually knew was there.

Albireo looked around, her green eyes widening in surprise and a small smile gracing her lips as her Siegfried stroked her hair for a moment. That combined with the gentle breeze that made her fuku flutter gave her a sudden feeling of hope.

Perhaps his world…his wonder wasn’t dead. Perhaps…this wouldn’t go bad for him at all. “We are here…and from what I’m seeing…it’s outstanding, Sieg.” She walked with him, enjoying the warmth of his hand holding hers and felt her heart growing lighter with each step.

They were going to be okay. He was enjoying this, and so could she.
“I don’t know. I suppose this place is just a part of you…and when you spend more time here…maybe you’ll remember a lot of things.” Albireo was speaking from knowledge that she didn’t quite believe…but she couldn’t say anything that would spoil this. Not today. Not for him.

“It’s really beautiful here. I’ll follow you anywhere.” And she did, still holding his hand, careful not to trip over any stray roots or rocks that might work to cause her to fall.

“The breeze feels amazing.” Her eyes landed on the ship, and she sighed slightly at the first sign of wreckage at this place. “…What do you think that is?”

That, Albireo referenced, was a small town nestled around a lagoon bordered by a sandbar and a giant beached sailing ship on the far side. It was a frigate, Siegfried knew upon looking at it, and he saw written on the side "The Siegfried, Pride of the Royal Neptune Navy". The town itself was built out of the used boards of old ships, probably tens to hundreds of old ships and scooners. White washed boards stood alone against the sand in the sunlight. The fact it was empty and devoid of people brought a frown to his lips, but did not discourage him. He stepped through the trees and onto the planks that marked the start of the town.

"This is... Port Siegfried," he said softly, looking around. Images flickered across the town as he moved his gaze, the ghostly images of a time long since past. One moment the town was alive with activity, the next they were alone. Every time he tried to focus on an image, it fluttered away from his sight. How odd. Maybe it was haunted. Somehow that didn't phase him, either.

He guided Albireo through the silent town, pausing here and there as the visions grew stronger. "I can... see things. People, objects, but they don't stay. They're not real, but I know they happened. Like I know this building here housed the tavern, and that one over there with the wheel above it's door was the Shipwright's Guild." He looked at her for a ment and smiled, musing her hair again. He pressed a kiss to the orange locks.

She'd said this place was a part of him, and he would remember things. Maybe that was what the visions were. Regardless, Siegfried wouldn't let the lack of people here bring his spirits down. He had a place - in SPACE mind you - that was his.

He wasn't named after that ship though, and that confused him. If not the ship... the town? The island? He wasn't sure.

She watched him with a soft smile, as though he were a child getting outside into snow for the first time. Or seeing something shiny like the first time. It was…really…really cute. It made her adore him all the more, that was for sure.

When he kissed the top of her head, she flushed lightly and moved to rest against him, nodding. “Well…that’s still really neat that you’re remembering anything at all. I like it here. It doesn’t feel…dead. Not with you here…it feels…like it could very easily come alive again. That it could very easily…I don’t know.”

Albireo tucked some hair back behind her ear as the breeze decided it was a good time to mess up her hair. “It feels like it could very easily become a home.”

If only her own homeworld could be like that someday…it would be nice. It would be very nice, honestly…but.

“…Sieg…would you maybe. When I get the courage. Would you come up to Albireo with me sometime? I gave it a chance once but…I didn’t like what I saw so…I left.” The words held a much deeper meaning than she felt like elaborating, but she hoped he’d understand.

“…I kind of…have the desire to go up again now though. After seeing this place. After seeing you so happy.”

Siegfried smiled down at her and kissed her forehead. It could become a home... it had been a home, a long time ago. Though he hadn't always lived here, he knew. He'd been elsewhere in the galaxy, courting a lovely woman of the swans. For a moment, Albireo's form shifted and he stared at a raven haired girl. Then his favorite orange locks were back.

At her request, he clasped both of her hands in his, and beamed at her. "Yes of course I will come to Albireo with you," he said with such a sweet and bright smile, he wasn't even sure he'd had that much happiness in his chest before this moment.

"Let's see the old Siegfried, shall we? I wonder if it has any information as to what this whole place is.." he said, gently guiding her towards the giant ship beached on the shore.

Her face lit up and she nodded, leaning forward and kissing his nose lightly before nodding and following him, still looking around excitedly. “I didn’t…realize I was going to want to go back, you know.”

Albireo said softly, holding his hand as they walked towards the ship, which seemed so much bigger the closer that they got. “But…I don’t know. This place has given me hope, I guess. Hope that…I don’t know.” She laughed and ducked her head. “I know that sounds stupid. I feel stupid saying it too…but.”

Shrugging, she looked up again. “I just love you. I guess that’s all. But yes, let’s see the old Siegfried. I…Maybe we’ll find treasure! Or maybe you can just act like you found treasure and it’s me.” She winked and looked away again, face reddening. Sometimes…sometimes it was easy to feel happy, just like sometimes it was easy to fall into the depression that was just a few inches away…but.

Thankfully today was a good day.

"That's not silly at all. Love, we're in space on a planet that shouldn't even be inhabitable, as magical super heroes. It's okay to be scared." He mused her hair and walked up to the giant frigate. The ship towered above him, and was almost an entire ship, save the middle near the main mast that had been turned into a stair case. Siegfried saw flashes of images and people again, and started up the stairs quietly.

The deck was in remarkable condition. Covered in dust and leaves, and some barnacles here and there but the wood was strong and firm beneath their feet. Half a football field in length, the front of the ship pointed due north, while the rear sank gracefully into the ocean beyond. He walked to the wheel and placed a hand on it.

"Move it, ya bilge rats! Time's a wastin 'n'we're due on the other side of Neptune in the mornin'!" cried the captain, and Knight of Neptune. Knight was... More of a forgotten title these days. Davos looked more like a pirate than a knight, and his ship, well...

The ship had become something so much more that day he beached onto the Isle. The Isle had been a myth, a phantom among the waves, one with out a keeper for ages. Yet now, Siegfried rose again, this time in the body of Davos.

How did one sail a beached ship? When he sailed the island it was on.

"Capt! Merchant ship on the horizon. Flyin' Neptune colors!" called the boy from the crows nest far above him. Davos looked up, silver eyes bright.

"Ya heard 'im boys! Hard to port, let's hunt us a merchant!"

He flashed a grin as the island moved, hand loose on the wheel. Time to hunt some merchant ships.

Siegfried swayed and blinked several times. What was... Who was Davos?

"... The last knight of Siegfried was... A pirate," he said quietly as he looked up at Albireo.

Albireo took a moment to fix her hair, an amused expression on her face as she followed him, mind buzzing with different thoughts. He was right about that. They were in space. They were somewhere that was dead. Was supposed to be dead…

She was so lost in thought that she almost didn’t realize that Siegfried was swaying where he stood, clearly distracted by…by something.

Quietly she reached out to support him, brows furrowed in worry and whatever calm she had collected about being up here nearly shattering in an instant.

Perhaps her first thought had been right. There was no good living in the past. No good visiting worlds that were long dead…all it could do would be cause you to lose your mind…

His words made her pause and look at him, frown deepening. “…A…pirate? W-well. That’s not such a difficult thing to imagine. When you were with the Negaverse…Jarosite looked just like a pirate too, in the end. I…suppose that piracy suits you.” For more reasons that one. Quietly she reached up and stroked some hair behind his ear. “…You look pale…perhaps we should go home for the night? You almost fell too…I was worried…”

And she wanted to be home. It suddenly felt as though the island were beginning to smother her, her fears creeping over her mind faster than she could dispel them.
