He’d been abusing his role as teacher at the elementary school, taking advantage of the spring concert they had planned for his handful of music classes. He’d composed a simple song (as simple was necessary when dealing with children, of course) with a certain Beautiful lady in mind when it came to the lyrics but the loving parents of all of the performers would think it was in dedication to themselves. Perfect, really.
It was subtle but it still brought a smile to his face every time the little choir of angels sang the words he’d written for them to repeat.
And even if Aurora didn’t find the time to visit the concert, he’d taken a short recording of the song to show her on the special day itself, along with the variety of presents he’d accumulated over the past couple of months.
She always made a large fuss over him spending money on her, frugal little thing that she was. He couldn’t exactly blame her for feeling that way, not when she’d been forced to grow up counting pennies and planning meals. She’d been raised to be sensitive to money but it didn’t frustrate him any less to see her frown when he was hoping to see an excited face, every time he gave her something he’d qualify as a half-decent present.
This time, though, he’d gone with practical over extravagant. With the upcoming trip to Japan planned, he’d made sure that all of his presents had something to do with the future adventure. He had a feeling that Aurora hadn’t traveled muched, thanks to the household’s monetary concerns, so he took it upon himself to buy her a luggage set, a pretty powder blue color that made him wistfully think of snow. He’d found it on sale shortly after the holiday season so she couldn’t be too mad at him… especially not with the cute little seal he’d tucked away in the largest suitcase for her to find once she opened it.
He wasn’t sure where her affinity for seals had come from but selfishly, he enjoyed it very thoroughly. It was like an inside joke between the two of them, only she was unaware of even being in on said joke. If only she had an inkling that her boyfriend wasn’t as ordinary a goof as she thought he was…
But, speaking of his alter ego -- Seal’s Eye wasn’t one to neglect the loved ones in his life either, come the month of February. While Akio had purchased a flower that had reminded him of his beautiful beloved, the Elysion Guardian had made a point to purchase two flowers for his dear girls.
One for the fair Lady Hydra, left on the fountain where she’d hopefully wander back to.
And one to the Little Princess, who was hopefully behaving herself and not staying up too late in hopes of her Seal Prince visiting again. He needed to return to the mansion and peek in on the little blonde angel -- he put it on his mental list to do later, when time managed to free itself up for him.
Akio wanted to do much more for his girlfriend but he restrained himself, justifying that dinner out, a flower and the luggage set would be more than enough to make his beautiful girl happy… even if he really wanted to spoil her rotten.
Maybe one day she’d be less apprehensive. Until that day, however, he’d behave.
At least, mostly.
