Thanks for letting me join. smile I just joined Gaia a couple of days ago, and thought maybe I should join a guild, and went looking for a Bowie guild first-off. I was kind of sad to see that there is only one Bowie guild on Gaia, and even sadder to see that from what I read it's in need of new members. Unfortunately, I am sort of a solo Bowie fan...all of my friends smile and shake their heads when I rave about him. Why don't people see?? sad
Anyway, I hope to get to know you all a little better. I'm 30, married, live in Seattle, go to college. My favorite album is Low, but I love every one I have. I've been a fan since I watched Labyrinth the second time when I was fifteen (I liked him before that, but became obsessed at 15) and have been collecting his albums on CD ever since. (I'm not cool like those vinyl type people.) His music has been there for me for half my life and he's my God. cool

I totally know what you mean, its insane, if they only bothered to actually listen. Im 16 so its really hard to get my friends into his music i dont think it will ever happen which is a shame, but thats what places like this are for right? so we can show and join together in the Bowie-love.
Anyway, welcome and welcome a thousand times, its always great to have new fans around, any time you wanna chat feel free!! heart blaugh

*waves* It's good to be here! smile Try being sixteen and raving about David Bowie to all your friends. They do more than just smile and shake their heads. They're more like "We're going to have to take a trip to the Funny Farm in a couple of years, aren't we?" and backing away slowly.

Well...yeah. I was fifteen when I started loving him, so I did get a lot of that. rolleyes And growing up in a religious and high-control envioronment, I got a lot of people thinking I was a bad person and worrying about me too. xp

Now I control *my* environment! 3nodding wink I think the problem my friends have is the age gap. David Bowie is exactly 43 years and a day older than me... people think it's creepy. (:

I started liking him at thriteen but that was becuase my mom got me duran duran. one of my best friends loves bowie too and he keep strying to steal my labrynth soundtrack. all my other friends don't make fun of my music cause i have a higher level of learning and a larger vocabulary so whatever they said i could say a thousand times worse. it is fun beign the only chick in a group of guys. ah well i am listening to rebel rebel on repeat right now and i need to run, nice meeting you though bye.
