Whimsical Blue

Sinistra felt like she was ready to try and go to her home planet. Tonight MIGHT be the night, if she could just find a moment of peace to really get her nerves up. It might have worked, if there was not a really distracting aura pressing down on her. It was unlike anything she felt before, and she was unsure she wanted to go near it or not.

Of course, if she felt it, whoever owned it most likely felt her as well. There was really no point running away now, unless they were too busy to really care about what she was up to.

She was a Super Senshi, though: her duties were more serious, were they not? She had a duty to follow any Chaos lead she felt, and this aura was certainly screaming at her to investigate, even if she was scared. Nothing good came from leaving Chaos to do whatever they wanted, as far as she knew. Sighing, she knew she just lost an argument with herself about running away.

No, she had to get closer.

She went quickly to close the distance, but slowed once she could tell she was very close. She was terrified, and she hardly knew what was causing it. Just what was this aura?

Just as the order soldier could feel him, Fafnir could feel them, and he wasn't real happy about it. It felt stronger than he was, and that didn't bode well for him, did it?

It was a vain hope that they hadn't taken notice of him and he'd pressed on with his energy gathering, one ear to the wind, so to speak. He couldn't be sure at first, if the signature was coming or going. It was just... large and formless, more of a direction than anything else. It wasn't until some time had passed that he could really tell that it was, indeed, getting closer.

He compared the strength of it to when he had first sensed it and swore softly to himself. The man in his hands slumped back against the dirty wall of the side of the liquour store with a groan and something mumbled that he couldn't make out. Fafnir didn't pay him much mind. Drunks slumped on the sidewalk were common place, really. No one would think twice about him here, and the corrupt had more to worry about.

Fleeing probably wasn't going to do a lot. If they were stronger, they were also faster... and being caught in the open wasn't a good way to face off against them. He needed somewhere he could secret himself... maybe covered enough to power down, even. The alley beside the store didn't offer much cover, but there was a truck out back by the loading dock that stood dark for the night, and a pile of stacked pallets... it was as good a place as any.

Fafnir tucked himself around behind the truck, sliding into its shadow and the dubious protection of the stack of pallets to wait for whomever it was that rushed this way.

Whimsical Blue

Sinistra was not one to barrel headlong into danger, but she had to do what was necessary in the name of the White Moon. At least, that was what she had learned so far, in her journey as a sailor scout. The Senshi of Brooms might have somehow made it to Super, but she still felt like a stranger in a strange land.

A total newbie.

She followed the aura toward an ally, frowning at the darkness and not particularly wanting to keep going into what might be a trap.

"I know you're in there, agent of Chaos!" she called, with false bravado she in no way felt. She took a breath and a few steps forward, noting the pallets and thinking that the likely hiding spot. "Come on out! It's time to... to clean up! In the name of... of... Uhm."

She was still not great at the introduction part sounding tough and serious. It was not that she forgot the name of her planet, but she suddenly considered the problems with just randomly telling someone on the opposite side of the war her name. Especially since she did not... really know what it was.

It also did not occur to her that she was talking to the wrong hiding place.

Fafnir pressed his back against the truck, feeling the cold seep from the metal into his body. Not comfortable, but he had other things to worry about right now than some discomfort.

The signature got closer and then he heard footsteps, scraping the cement towards where he hid.

Of course they had known where he was. He gave off as much of a signature as they did, though a weaker variety. Maybe not an exact pinpoint, just as he only knew where they were because he heard them, but enough.

The intruder sounded like a girl when she shouted at him. Fafnir sighed inwardly and pressed a fingertip between his pinched eyebrows. Okay, so it looked like he was dealing with one of the more aggressive members of Order today. She at least didn't sound super sure about it, which might be a note in his favor.

"I'm not sure why you think I'd be inclined to come out and make myself vulnerable just because you say to." He called back in a level voice, in what he hoped was a reasonable tone. "Particularly to... 'clean up'. What exactly does that entail? Because I may just prefer not to come out, thank you all the same."

Whimsical Blue

"Oh... well... I suppose you... yes, that's a... a good point."

Sinistra paused thoughtfully, clearing her throat. She was not a threatening sort. What was more than that, she had no intention of ever really being one: she was happy sorting through problems without having to fight, if she could get away with it. But she had to assume every chaos aura, especially one like this, was wicked and had to be treated with caution.

The last thing she wanted was to let them know she was not the best at her job, and give them a reason to attack her. Acting tough was really her only option, to stay safe. That was what Merlinite urged her to do, anyway, though Camelot thought it was more about wits and patience than intimidation.

"I was just... ah, well, I was just making sure you weren't up to any trouble. I don't know what you're doing out here, or if you're aiming on hurting anyone: I have to be sure you're not. Though I... I feel a little strange... talking to shadows... shall I come over there...?"

Nervously, she brushed her hands over her skirt, evening out the fabric over the broom-like straw as best she could. It was just a way to keep her hands busy, and distract herself from how anxious she was feeling.

"Probably better if you don't!" Fafnir called back quickly, feeling a thrum of unease at the idea of her getting closer. He rose less quickly, sliding out from behind the truck.

He kept the pallets between them, though he stood head and shoulders taller than they were. Pretending more confidence than he felt, he casually laid an elbow on it, sliding his fingers through his hair.

"What sort of trouble did you think I might be up to? I'm honestly not the type to go around hurting people for no reason. Its a lot safer to stay out of trouble, especially when there are other senshi and knights like you running around. Jumping people." Fafnir said conversationally, or as best as he could manage. He had a smooth, customer service voice and face and he used it now. "Who put you in charge of policing people, anyway? I never heard the White Moon had leaders, but I am a bit new I suppose. Not exactly well aquainted with people on your side, I'm afraid, so I may have missed the memo."

If she was willing to talk, then maybe he could manage to get out of this without something unpleasant happening, particularly to him. Maybe he'd even find out something he hadn't known before. That was something of the carrot to go with the stick she represented.

Whimsical Blue

Sinistra hesitated, wanting to believe him but also knowing that the Chaos side of things could say anything to try and get away with their devious dealings. She had been gullible in the past, and it only ever led to bad things. And that was before she had ever been super powered, so she imagined things were even more dangerous now.

She watched him as he poked up over the pallets and leaned on them, noting his confidence. Or at least, what she thought was confidence. She swallowed down some fear and kept her stance ready, in case he attacked. Merlinite always said that Chaos could attack from any side at any time, and she had to be ready for anything.

"Well... that's good to hear, though hard to believe. The Negaverse are always out hurting people, whether they want to or not. You... are with the negaverse, aren't you?" She did not like to think that she was the one who would jump someone without a reason. All she was trying to do was keep the streets safe for civilians.

"I don't need a leader to tell me what's right and wrong," though she did train with Camelot and he basically was a leader to her, "but I don't want to hurt anyone that doesn't deserve it. If you're not doing anything wrong then... I guess... I apologize for my rude entrance earlier. Uhm. But. What are you doing back there, anyway?"

Fafnir watched her with interest.

"I am a Corrupted Senshi, as they say." He replied, laying the other elbow on the pallets now. They poked at his bare elbows, but he ignored it. "I'm part of the Negaverse, but I never had a choice in the matter. I do what I'm told, because if I don't..."

He let it trail off and his eyes darken, the corners of his mouth pulling down.

"Its not pleasant. But I'm not being forced to hurt anyone right now, something I think we can both appreciate. I'm back here because I felt you coming, and unlike my superiors, I don't have the ability to just teleport away. If you'd wanted to hurt me, and believe me, plenty have, I wouldn't have had a very good chance of fending you off. You're stronger than I am. So I hid. As much as I could, obviously."

It hadn't been good hiding, but all of that was the truth. She was stronger than him, and he couldn't have outrun her if she'd wanted to hurt him. The apology was interesting though. He hadn't had someone apologize for being rude before.

"Well. I apologize for skulking around like I was up to no good." He said. "My name is Fafnir."

Whimsical Blue

A corrupt senshi... that filled her with sadness instead of the intense feeling of general ickiness that his aura was filling her with. That was not his fault, technically, as she had the same kind of reaction to most chaos. This was just... more than she was used to. Was a corrupt senshi just that much darker than a negaverse soldier? Why did he feel so... so very twisted?

And yet he was being very calm and polite with her, despite how she was rude to him before. She frowned at her feet, wishing things were a little more black and white. It would be easier to fight a war if the bad guys... were bad.

"I'm sorry I scared you enough to make you hide," she said, looking mortified. The idea that anyone would be scared of her was laughable at first, but then a little upsetting. Then a lot upsetting. She was just out here to help, not hurt. He had been hurt by senshi before? Of course that made sense, they were enemies, but so far she actually had not encountered that many aggressive Chaos soldiers, and her battle experience was still fairly limited despite being a Super.

Maybe she was just lucky.

Smiling warmly, if not incredibly bashfully, Sinistra waved at him from their current distance. "My name is Sinistra. It's a pleasure to meet you, Fafnir. Oh, my, you have such lovely hair!"

He considered her for a bit, lacing his fingers together thoughtfully.

She could be having him on... Her innocent act could be an act in truth, but what did she have to gain by it? Indeed, if she had wanted to hurt him, she could have. Easily. A bunch of pallets wouldn't have really stopped her. Chances were good that she truly was upset about scaring him, as little as he would have expected that from the other side.

Well, regardless, he was not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, so to speak. Fafnir's posture relaxed as he dropped his arms and stepped back to make his way around the pallets. His gloved fingers trailed along the rough wood and he tilted his head as he considered the senshi he'd run in to today. Sinistra. Not a name he knew anything about, beyond how it hinted at meanings. She seemed young. Younger than him, anyway. Less experienced, to an extent, in this war than he was... or maybe just less jaded. He put a shy-seeming smile of his own on as she complimented his hair, reaching up to run his fingers through it till a long strand fell before his shoulder.

"Thank you. Its not normally this long. Its a bit of a challenge, especially when I'm trying to move quickly. Yours looks far more functional. The dress too." He said as he flicked his fingers at her fuku. "Is... is that straw though? Or just cloth made to look like it?"

She had a witchy vibe to her, in a costume way. Did it point at her sphere? Sometimes, outfits did. Other times, they seemed to say something else, like his own. It was a curious thing to make study of, with his own background in fashion. Who designed these outfits? Was there a method to it?
