Crocoite stood over the two fallen teenagers with a bland expression on his face. He hadn't killed them, knowing that leaving too many bodies behind was an unwise decision in his line of work, but he'd drained them for as much as he could get away with before it became dire. Maybe they would still die, if left alone and not found, but he rather hoped not.
What a waste of two perfectly good starseeds, if so. And here he was, going through all the trouble of not pulling them for himself.
He sighed, rolling his shoulders back and looking at the orbs of energy in his palm. It seemed so insignificant, but he had to keep believing that his dutiful harvesting of energy from all these pathetic beings would eventually lead to his gaining more power. That was all he wanted, all he ever really wanted.
The power to do what he wanted, when he wanted. Was it really so much to ask for?
He pocked the orbs of energy and looked down at the two teens. They were on a date, he assumed, though it did not appear to be going well by the time he crashed it and dragged them into this alley. The girl was not interested in her companion in the slightest, and even in the face of danger she stood a little distance from him, as if not trusting him to be able to protect her.
She'd been right.

Paeonia was getting the hang of partoling. Although she hasn't seen anything unusual or have found any bad guys yet. She just loved the fact that when she power up she had the most beautiful outfit ever. She twirled around in her outfit. She always felt beautiful when she putted it on. No one really have her any art is looks. They probably thought sh was one cosplayong or dressing up. But it seemed to be quite a regular thing. She slipped her way down the sidewalk. She stopped when she felt a strange give. A bad feeling. She followed the bad vibe and saw a guy standing over two bodies. "Is everything alright?" She approached with caution. There was something about the guy that made her tilt her head. ((130))

Crocoite sighed at the question, tapping his finger against the cane he was holding idly in one hand. The other was still in his pocket, suddenly protective of the energy he stored there. He glanced over his shoulder, only barely able to see her in his peripheral. It worked well enough, as her aura told him where she was, and what she was.
Behind him, and a problem, respectively.
"Oh, everything is just fine," he said, not moving from over the two fallen teenagers. They were not moving, and probably did not look particularly fine, but he supposed if she wanted to ask silly questions he could play along. "They seem to simply be sleeping off a long night. Let's not disturb them, hm?"
He turned, looking his new opponent over thoughtfully. He did not recognize her, not knowing he'd met her before, not too long ago. Such was the power of their Glamour, the same courtesy bestowed on him when he was in and out of uniform. He rested both hands on the head of the crocodile cane now, holding it in front of him and leaning on it slightly.
"Run along home now, and leave them to me, hm?"

Paeonia tilted her head. She tried to see behind the guy to see the couple on the floor. She didn't believe him one bit about them being ok. Something was off. She wanted to take a little time to think and make any decisions. But she can't just do that she was in a situation where she had to make quick decisions. The couple needed that. She needed to stop being nice and gullible. This was her real encounter with someone who could be a bad person. Could be from the Negaverse. She took a step towards him. "I don't believe you and I am not going anywhere. How about you run off and leave. You did something to them. I know you did."

"You know, if you ask a question and receive an answer, then you should be content with that. You keep pushing, and sometimes you can get into some serious trouble."
He only pretended to sound concerned, grinning at her by the end of his little chiding speech. He tossed his cane up slightly so he could catch it by the staff rather than hold it by the head. It was easier to swing that way, after all, and the head was a more effective weapon than the spindly end of the cane's staff.
That was more suited for stabbing and causing pain with pressure points.
"If you thought I did something, why did you ask me? Now it seems as though you don't believe me and, what's more, never intended to. That's just mean spirited, assuming the worst of someone. And just because I'm a Lieutenant."
He feigned hurt, shaking his head woefully. The grin returned quickly, though, and he lunged toward her without another word or hint. He pulled his cane back, aiming to swing for her midsection.
He had given her plenty of warning already.
