Deanna was kneeling in front of the toilet at home, her face as pale as a sheet. She had been throwing up for the past five minutes, her hands clinging lightly to the bowl. Eilam and Paian were stationed outside the door, making sure the woman was alright. They both knew why she was throwing up, but Noah still needed to be told.
"Dea, you know he is going to come in here asking,"Paian reminded, when she got a moment to come up for air.
"Yeah, I know,"she nodded. Knowing her husband, he would be thinking she was ill.

Noah had been thinking exactly that. Dea was ill. Dea had a stomach bug, so he’d hurried to the nearest store and purchased plain crackers, sprite, bread, and easily digestible foods. He worried about her. He’d made french toast, eggs and sausage for breakfast that morning and she’d run for the bathroom.
He went to the bathroom, fretting. “Dea, I got you some sprite. It’ll be easier on your stomach than water.” Was she Alright? He didn’t think this was her condition flaring up...
He looked to Paian. “What’s wrong with my wife?” He asked.

As soon as Noah came over, Paian looked to Dea with an 'I told you so look,' his trainer rolling her eyes. Of course Noah had run to the store to get things for an upset stomach, it wasn't like any of them were surprised. When Paian heard the question about what was wrong with Dea, he knew this was not his conversation.
"That is something that Dea needs to tell you, not me,"he spoke.
"Umm..dear..."she began, rubbing the back of her head.

It was so bad that Paian refused to tell him? Noah couldn’t remember a time when that had been the case. Dea’s condition could make her very ill. Her immune system had never been the best, he’d had to be careful when he’d wanted to see her after being sick as a child.
Predictably, Paian’s words had him nervous.
“Are you okay, love?” He was gearing up to fret again.

"I am fine, dear, just a little..well. Honey, this is not the first time I have been kneeling before the toilet getting sick before. It has happened before, a few years ago,"she assured. Hopefully he would put two and two together, but she had a feeling she might have to explain more.

Noah wasn’t reassured. A few years ago this had happened before? Anything could have happened within that time. Stomach flus, certainly. Listeria maybe, but he couldn’t remember Dea ever getting listeria. He fretted. “Don’t worry. I’ve got you sprite, crackers and things that will help. I couldn’t find any anti-nausea pills but I’m sure that’s a thing I can buy...”
Nope. Noah was completely oblivious and extremely worried.

"Honey, think of all those that came since you have been gone. Like some little ones of the family,"she suggested. Maybe that would help him figure out what she was talking about. If not, she might have to be a little more obvious with having Paian get the twins or something.

That didn’t help Noah put things together. He thought of Teddy, he thought of Krissy, the twins... THE TWINS! His eyes went wide and he stiffened. He’d always wanted a family but when he’d been rescued he’d been plunged into a huge one. A baby hasn’t been in his plans, but those plans could be revised! Dea was going to have his baby!
“Really?” He asked.

Dea watched carefully, ready to have Paian go give her some help, if needed. Thankfully, she saw realization strike her husband and she nodded her head with a soft smile.
"Yes, really. We have a little baby coming, my dear,"she said gently.

It was real. They were really going to be parents! Not that they weren’t already. Noah had had no complaints about taking the twins as his own. Nor the others, the children who had once been Pokémon. Including his own! Sometimes he still had trouble thinking of Sunny as his solgaleo. He was an energetic child—Noah wondered what he’d say about having a younger sibling?
“How do I help you feel better?” He asked.

"Well, usually when my stomach gets like this, Eilam gets me something to soothe my stomach. Usually some kind of seven up, though it only lasts briefly before I am doing it all over again tomorrow morning,"she explained to him.

“I got you some stomach stuff,” Noah offered. Sprite was the same as seven up wasn’t it? He fretted then. She’d be sick every morning? He supposed it was called morning sickness for a reason.
“There’s nothing that helps it for good?”

"No, it is here until the second or third trimester. And good, I think some stuff for my stomach will help for now. Don't worry, I have been through this once before, I will be fine,"she tried to assure him. He hadn't been here when she was pregnant with the twins.

Till the second or third trimester?! Each trimester was three months, he hated to think of his wife as miserable for several months. He bit his lip in thought. There was really nothing they could do?
Don’t worry? How could he not? He had two people to worry about now! His wife and unborn child. He was sure that Paian would do the best he could to ensure their health and safety, but they’d need to visit a hospital at some point.
“I’ll try not to.”

"Just know that Eilam and Paian know what to do, if they need to. Everything will go well, we will make sure of it,"she told him, reaching for his hand to bring him closer.
