Wisdom from the Outside Username: MiddyGlow Lioness Name: Dia Muerta Did she change her name when she arrived or has she always had this name? It is the name she was given when she was born
Where did she come from? Dia Muerta came from a small pride in an arid area it was always warm and dry in her homeland and finding water was a daily struggle. They lived in small caves in family groups, Dia lived with her mother, father, grandmother and many other family members in a very squished home. They have special alters set up to honor their dead on special days to bring good luck in finding water each day. Her home still means a great deal to her, but she needed something else in her life so she is seeking a new home where she can have a little more room to breathe. There are very few plants around her home and not many prey animals to hunt, which also caused hunger issues and has not allowed for the pride to expand in many years since the pride is unable to support more than 15 lions at a time. Dia's pride is also very short on handsome males that would be suitable for mating with and breedings are strictly controlled due to the water and food problems. The elders would never leave their homeland even as the young members beg them to give up this land of death. There is nothing else left for them in her homeland but the elders are to blind to see the truth of the situation.
What led her to the N'ezi? Dia is seeking a new home where she hopes she will find more food, water, and potential mates.
Where did her idea come from, is it part of her old pride? Yes her idea is part of traditions of her pride. What is her idea? Dia Muerta has suggested holding a festival to honor the spirits of the dead, setting up altars with gifts for the spirits of the dead, flowers, meat and food. Shiny stones, shells, songs to honor the dead. When she discovered the N'ezi pride and saw the spirits floating around she thought it was no wonder that the spirits were restless there seemed to be but joy or honoring going to the dead, everyone seemed a little on edge. She is unsure why everyone in the area is so uncomfortable, but she has always thought more about the dead then she did the living well except for herself since she wanted a life for herself with a little more breathing room, where she could perhaps raise cubs. With the way her home has been structured for many years if things do not change it won't be much longer before her family line dies out with no fresh blood being added to the line. She also suggests either painting the faces of the living to honor the dead or making masks to honor the dead. Brite colors to make things fun and exciting for the spirits so they can feel that the living care about them and honor the lives they once led. Garlands strung above each cave brighten this pride up and give both the living and the dead something to feel happy about.

Wisdom from the Outside Username: AstoriaFallen Lioness Name: Ubasti Did she change her name when she arrived or has she always had this name? Always had this name
Where did she come from? Much like my character Bast who joined the Outlands, Ubasti had been apart of the same pride as she had been. Their lands torn apart by the suns blazing heat she came from a pride that lived deep in the heart of a desolate wasteland. Despite it's appearance there was life hidden deep in the caves that littered the nearby hills. The lions that lived there were tough, cunning and occasionally quite mean spirited but they had a wealth of knowledge for their lands didn't always use to look like such. Once they had been lush and full of life and mystery, knowledge of all sorts to be passed on to those that wanted it. A fateful day came when someone crossed the wrong 'lion' and the lands were cursed to become empty and void of anything livable but their knowledge still remained. With nothing left to offer them, the remaining members of the pride decided to relocate themselves.
What led her to the N'ezi? The strange events from the God's Haven had caused the path before her to change drastically. Initially she had set out to find Bast, one who had been in the same pride as her, but the strange events led her on a different route, one in which she believed was 'fate'. Decided to follow the lights in the sky and it had brought her to the pride and she believed her outside knowledge may be of some help in the future for them.
Where did her idea come from, is it part of her old pride? It came from past pride knowledge. What is her idea? Ubasti had come from a pride that had once taken pride in collecting information of all kinds, that even included calming restless spirits. While the spirits within the Nezi were far different from the one's they believed they were calming, she was certain her idea may prove useful.
Stepping forward she expressed her idea proudly. "I am uncertain as to the 'type' of spirits that are dwelling within the lands and I know this might seem a bit strange but sometimes we used to offer up prayers towards them in hopes to calming their restlessness. If they are indeed past loved one's they may just be disrupted from the afterlife." While it hadn't been such a crazy sounding idea when she had been in her pride, it may sound completely unorthodox here. Insuring they had her attention she continued on, "If there is any type of salt within the pride, be it from the water or even a rock bed that can be used as a cleansing to help the spirits dissipate. I am aware that there are also new members within the pride, including myself and that has caused some negative thoughts among some of the other members within the lands. I can not say for sure if that's a cause at all, but sometimes negative energy can also cause such things to happen so if we are all able to find peace within ourselves and let go of the negativity any of us may be holding onto, that may also be enough to help them find peace and move on from this world." That had worked for her pride in the past, before it had been wiped clean of this world from famine.
