Kes had been about to remark to Wren she was avoiding the entire reason she'd invited her to meet at Hubert's, but one, she was scarfing her burger. For two, there was a scream outside. Chewing rapidly, the woman scarfed down what she could before rising, Wren emulating behind her as they left the cash for dinner on the table and charged oiutside. The sight was plain -- a youma rresembling a wolf was tearing down the street, four eyes flickering between all of the delicious preys and meats and oh the starseeds, and it was moving in on a young woman -- the scream. Without a thought, Kes dove into the secluded space near Hubert's, hand flying out to call her weapon in the space -- and was surprised by seeing Wren dive in out the corner of her eye, missing seeing her to... Pull a pen. In one instant, neither were Kestrel DeLacey or Emily Wren Wiley. In but one moment, they were Cordoba, Squire of Mercury, and Eternal Sailor Elpis. And they realized the other had powered at the exact same time. Cordoba acted first, pointing.
"Alriught. Seriously. Now this must be why you were a hidey s**t." She scoilded. Elpis groaned.
"Yeah well for all I knew you were chaos. But in fairness, Dad is a knight so..."
"And the twinses??" Kes scolded. Elpis winced.
"Newly awakened senshi? I hid a youma attack?"
Cordoba rolled her eyes.
"And work's kept me from powering. I feel bad. Problems talked for now let's go bite off this thing's face."
"Agreed." Elpis flashed a deliciously wild grin. Cordoba blinked, deciding not to ask, and moved, glancing to Elpis as they moved to counter the youma.
"Soooo... Plans, of ye of many skirts?" Cordoba asked.
"Once awesome skirt. I should be able to kill it, but that lady's too close. Feel up to some dramatics?"
"I am a showman. You watch." Cordoba retorted, and threw a mock salute as she lunged, hurling her weapon for the beast's face, the youma's voice flanging many voices as it roared. Cordoba lunged in that moment, scooping the terrified, screaming woman up in her arms, and kept moving for safety, the terrified civilian shrieking. Cordoba just winked.
"Sup, friendo." She crooned. The woman cried in panic as Cordoba spun on her high heel, putting the woman down and watching the youma as it snarled at them, the squire beaming.
"Relax, lady. We got this abomination." She flashed her winning grin, winking warmly at the terrified lady. and nodded to Elpis.
The wolf was charging for Cordobna, affording Elpis time to cast her magic.
The spell was not her ideal, but effective as the eternal spell went off, metal raining down hard on the youma as it pierced the magic form. And the youma screamed and howled, writhed, twisted, and struggled as it melted into dust, and Elpis approched slowly.
"Ae you alright? Is she alriught?" Elpis frowned. The woman yelped, and bolted, the squire making a face.
"Yeeeaaahhh looks fine, buuut...."
"Yep. Po-po. Your place?" The senshi drawled. Cordoba nodded, the pair moving off rapidly. There was yet talking to do, but for now? Now was time to escape before police grabbed them -- and there was work to do discussing contact.
Besides.
Kes still wanted Wren's advice now on how to juggle this but somehow... She had a feeling she could, and have help covering besides... And covering Cordoba from the immediate family made all the difference.
