Waiting had been one of the hardest things Seirath had ever experienced in her short life. For her sister who's flight had come on explosively fast, for golds to clutch at another Weyr so attention was on herself(Yes, she was a vain thing at times and would like all the attention on herself), and then she'd found her rider utterly obtuse about the entire thing. Truth was that the two of them shared one Room in a mind and she could see the apprehension that existed in her beautiful Lady's heart, memories of what had befallen her own mother and the mystery behind her own existence that didn't fully bother her but there was always a niggling.

So she had waited even longer than she meant to do, even as the fizzling in the back of her mind and in her heart and all through her began to make her nearly glow. Days passed, weeks even as she fought it off and shifted about in discomfort but the time was finally upon her and she was ready. Foreheads pressed together, one with eyes closed and the other with eyes swirling reds and purples, Amra held Seirath's head gently as she picked apart the feelings rushing through them both. "If you must?"

You know well what you see. came the response instantly.

"Then rise as you will, but don't wear yourself out. Don't get hurt or fall alone." Amra whispered, afraid that something might happen as always, but she hid that feeling deep in her heart, in their hearts. For Seirath knew that at least one would follow, though she would demand many.

Head suddenly released, the small green inclined it before her beloved rider before turning and hopping into the air. Seirath didn't need to blood a herdbeast, that would only slow her down and she needed to be fast. Needed to be swifter than them all as the glow took over her and a song burst through the evening sky over Western Weyr. It rose and fell, danced and twisted as her body did through the air, calling to them all fiercely, demanding their attention as she played with the notes until the entire sky was full of her song.

Come to me! Rise into the evening light so that once the sun sets we may fall as the stars rise. All of you. Any of you that wish for a wonderful dance this night. She may not have been the dancer that her lady was but Seirath could twist on the wind all the same. Far below her Amra took a deep breath in and turned her attention towards the ocean not far from her hut with intense eyes.

--------------Heed the Call--------------

About Seirath: Flirtatious, needy, musical and prone to just a bit of jealousy is the lay of this green's life. She'll sing you a song and take you for a sweet little flight but only those with green to their hide will share her wallow by the sea the next morning.

About Amra: A curious spy that holds her information close to her chest and spends her free time dancing by the ocean. Having never been in a situation quite like what this flight will bring she's likely to either hole up or grab the first that comes to her.

(Stolen from Drani and Pach 8D )

Enoith didn’t usually chase, much to W’res’s relief. It took a special sort of dragon and a lot of thinking to get him in the air, and the choice will have been made to chase long before the green begins to glow. That is how it was with this lovely Seirath. W’res wasn’t caught too off guard as a result when Enoith informed him it was time. W’res simply turned back out of his weyr he had just walked into and headed down towards the beach where he knew the rider’s hut was.

Lovely Seirath! You deserve all the stars in the sky to chase you. I hope that one humble blue can prove just as worthy.

Who was this pretty thing, rising from her ledge to chase the sky, calling out to all who would pursue her, want her, take her for their own for just a short time. A deep rumble echoed in the green on her ledge, her own itch gone unsatisfied for far longer than it should have been. It echoed a need across her bond with her rider, the same way soil needed water. The way Erinyeth needed Lezia. It was a need that the woman wanted nothing to do with, reaching out mentally for her lifemate to take her firmly.

You will not, Lezia said. She was the center of the universe, holding Erinyeth with a rope she could not break, could not wiggle free from. The large green mantled her wings as she rose to her feet, her eyes so deep a purple-red, they threatened to be black. I will, she challenged, her desire like flames that made skin sizzle and bones snap and life wither. Lezia did not flinch, drawing closer to her lifemate. I have waited at your behest. You must give me slack or we will both snap, Erinyeth reminded, leaning in to snort hot breath all over the dark woman's face. Lezia reached out to rub a hand across one of her green's cheeks.

The tight leash relented, and she sprung from her ledge, wings catching the air as she twisted upwards like a silent phantom - no sweet words of poetry, no bugle of challenge against all others who would come, but her attention sharp and wanting on the young Seirath.

----

About Erinyeth - A mostly enigma to the other dragons of Western Weyr. She has not chased nor risen since she joined the Weyr 2 turns ago, and how she will behave is a complete mystery.

Lezia: Will not be pursuing Amra, and only the very brave should try to pursue her. She will not be warmly welcoming.

It was just about time to turn in for the night. K'mar and Vith were taking their time settling into their seaside abode. It was nice to be welcomed back despite their initial departure from Western, but both of them knew it was due to the Thread returning more than anything. Western needed all the rides they could spare and K'mar loved a good fight, so the decision to return had been sound.

Vith was in the process of digging his sandy bed a bit deeper when a beautiful call came up from the sky. He glanced up and spotted a green twirling in the air, the dying light catching her hide just so, but it was her voice that drew him in like a dying dragon to fresh water. Oh, but she was beautiful! Completely enraptured by her song, Vith forgot his bed and shifted his weight to his hind legs, ready to spring into the air.

K'mar was just heading out of his little bungalow when the wave of desire swept over him and he had to grasp the door frame to keep himself on his feet. He let out a laugh at the sight of his dragon, ready to chase at the drop of a hat.

"Atta boy, Vith," he said as the brown jumped into the air, wings eating up the distance between him and the enchanting green. The normally calm brown sent a little mental slap to his rider which only had the large man chuckling more, completely fine with the little reprimand. He liked seeing his dragon with a little vim and vigor where he wasn't Vith's prime focus.

I'm not much of a dancer, but if you lead I'll surely follow, he called to Seirath, watching her weave and fall and rise with all the grace only a green could have. Below, K'mar hopped off the steps leading up to the little hut to hit the beach. If there was a green flight there'd be people about looking for a bit of fun themselves and he was always down for fun.

---

Brown Vith: Vith is a soft-spoken yet unsinkable brown, always careful with his words and firm in his decisions. He has a very gentle air about him around everyone and gets on with most dragons and humans alike. He's certainly not a pushover despite his gentle ways and will kill you with kindness quite happily.

K'mar: Adventurous, loyal, hard-working, determined, rambunctious, foolhardy, easily distracted, bisexual.

K'mar and Vith weren't the only duo on the beach settling in for the night. Venn was reclining comfortably against Nzambith's warm chest and the two were watching the sunset together in peace. It had been a hard day of training but nothing felt better than the ache of muscles after a good workout. Venn had his hand up on Nzambith's cheek, stroking it softly as the green rested her chin atop Venn's head. A familiar call caught her attention, however, and with a curious gaze she looked up to the sky to see her sister rising into the beautiful sunset. Venn watched as well, a little grin on his face as he recognized the musical noises from Seirath.

"Well, well, well...look whose rising," he said with a chuckle, instantly thinking of his friend and how Amra was holding up. She didn't seem the type to want a dragon who would rise as often as Seirath probably would, but he knew she'd be able to power through it. He could feel Nzam's curiosity burning in his own chest and with a shove he removed himself from between her front legs.

"Why don't you go with her?" he offered, nodding up to the sky where other dragons were already joining her. "I'm sure she wouldn't mind." Knowing Sei, she'd love the extra attention.

Maybe... Nzambith murmured, but when Seirath's call reached her mind she couldn't just sit by and wait to hear what happened. She wanted to see, wanted to know what rising was all about. She'd seen countless greens take to the sky and had been curious then, but now it was her dear sister. Surely Seirath wouldn't mind.

Slow and methodical as ever, Nzambith rose to her feet and was soon airborne, kicking up a bit of sand as she went. With a few strong pulls from her wings - no matter how achy they were from practice - she soon pulled close enough to Seirath to see her purple eyes.

Sister, may I come? she asked, her voice hesitant. She'd turn back if Sei said no, but there was also a tinge of hope there. She wanted to know what to do, how to rise, to see dragons chase to know what to expect when she too took to the skies. Surely it would happen to her, right?

OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY Teth's excitement rattled through F'ell's bones in a way that startled the man; it had been a bit since the brown had been over eager for a flight. The last to happen had been a violent one and thus the teen had been able to dissuade his beast, though in this case it seemed like he wouldn't be able to do so. It's her, it's her that's going and I wanna go tooo!!!! I'M GONNA GO, MINE!!

The "her" would have been a question if Teth hadn't flooded F'ell's mind with images of Seirath, of her singing and being generally lovely. Teth was fond of her, she was the prettiest green to be flying right now and he wanted to make sure she knew it!!! Pretty greens deserved to be chased and flown with because they should have everyone look at them, yes! F'ell shook his head at Teth's emotions as the massive brown spread his wings.

Gathering up his painting supplies, because he knew they'd be of no use to him for a while, the brownrider gave his begrudging approval. Go have fun. I'll pick you up from your brother's tomorrow at dawn, okay?" It was almost like he knew his beloved wouldn't win (Teth had a ridiculously bad track record) and he also knew he would find comfort in the overly familiar arms of his blue brother. If Teth didn't care about such things then F'ell certainly wouldn't, and it wasn't like his dragon could get to High Reaches to be with his other beloved blue.

Happy to have permission the brown sprang up, the airs of the evening catching him and lifting him higher with each beat of his large wings. Seirath!!! Lovely singer, are you gonna sing as we fly!!! I love listening to your songs and I'm super happy we can fly like this!!!! Teth rolled in delight, all the while howling (?) out his happiness and affections. Everyone around would get to feel the familiar caress of the dragon's love which carried no ulterior motive. He was here to chase and he was so happy to see others joining in! Seirath was prettiest green! Awwoooooooooooo!

Aleyath hadn't realized he'd been waiting for anything until he heard what he had been waiting for. One minute he was leaning blissfully into his rider's impromptu massage, and the next his muscles were tense, his attention on the sky.

What... O'len began, but before the rest of the query had a chance to leave his mind, he knew what, and with whom, and that this would not be avoided. He let out an uneven sigh, patting his brown's flank.

It's Seirath. Don't you hear her? His smartest, kindest, prettiest, most interesting clutchmate by far. She was rising. And he was finally going to give chase. For all that he craved adventure, in this Aleyath had wanted security all along. Someone who wouldn't think less of him if he failed. Someone who he loved.

I do. You should go to her. The wingrider's throat was dry, his dragon's apprehension amplifying his own. He had been skirting around his feelings for what felt like forever, but tonight... he wouldn't find a better excuse to share them than this.

Yes! All right. Aleyath ducked and butted his head against O'len's shoulder a little too hard, eyes a vibrant violet shot with sparks of yellow. I will.

Be careful.

He hesitated, searching his distracted brain for a reassuring reply before choosing, Yeah, okay, and lifting himself into the air. He crooned a single, clear note in response to the green's song and climbed after her, hiding his uncertainty behind strong, steady wingbeats.

The evening had been quite calm for the pair; Chirakumath had arranged himself so that Amrit could lean against his chest, reading to the big bronze with one hand holding the book easily. The other gently stroking his cheek, lost in the story and his dragon’s contentment. Yet as quickly as the peace had been made, it was popped. Chirakumath’s large head lifted, shifting to stand slowly as something down along the coast gained his attention. His rider slid into a stand with a slight stagger, book abandoned to see what had gained his attention--and the slight green, glowing above the sunset over the coast. Oh.

She calls. I must answer. Yet the bronze hesitates, if briefly. He looks down at his tiny rider, leaning down to nuzzle him before jumping into the air--the spray of sand whirling behind him. He pumps his wings, coasting towards the zippy green with gusto, eyes a bright, brilliant purple. Such a lovely green deserves only the best chasers--and I am certainly not the only to see your beauty. The comment was directed to the greens that have come to chase as well, though blues and browns certainly got an appreciative eye--if unintended. Certainly only to view his competition.

Amrit dusted the sand off of his clothes, shaking it out of his hair as he watched his bronze fly away. The familiar flames of flightlust licked at the edges of his mind, and he nervously looked to where the green had launched from. Should he…? He didn’t have any connections in this Weyr, and while he wasn’t keen on putting another target on his back, he finds himself crossing the sands to Amra’s hut.

--

About Chirakumath: A big idiot, but a big flirt. Romantic and easy-going. Mostly open to being caught.
Amrit: Kind but kind of a recluse. Kind of a stressed out crybaby. Nervous about flights considering his… physical state. Mostly open to being caught.

For such an animated dragon, Cloveth had been oddly still on her ledge. Laid out across the spanse by herself, listening for something that had stumped her rider--until the tidal wave of flightlust rolled through their bond. The older green had no doubt been watching those spooky clutch dragons, and where Therianth’s flight hadn’t been her speed, Seirath had certainly caught her attention. She had been putting off chasing--even her own due rising, to accommodate for her rider’s sake. Yet she wasn’t the most patient dragon when it came to lovely greens, and certainly Seirath deserved every audience member.

She stood, tipping over from her stone ledge to swoop down, wings beating to rise up after the delightful green who twisted so gracefully in the air and filled it with the sweetest song. Seirath, I come. Sweetest song of the wind, you deserve the whole audience to see you soar. Cloveth croons in return, though it could not come close to how sweet the other green was. Aleyath hadn’t escaped her notice either, but her wingmate certainly had her hearts fluttering--and she chirped sweetly to Teth.

In the depths of her weyr, Amiari could feel the gentle itch, the need to seek out one who had equally caught her heart. Gently she scooted the chair she had been seated in, and found herself leaving to seek out T’mor.

Voices rang out to her through the evening sky, calling her name, washing her in attention the way Seirath had always hoped it might be the first time she rose. The little green all but melted into it, stretching her wings and bathing in adoration as she spiraled and twisted about them so she could inspect each of the beautiful dragons that came to chase her. Each of them were so lovely and wonderful, her claws reached out and touched in places lightly, tail tips trailing and attention draping over them individually as she sang in various tunes.

With a trill she twisted around Enoith, her eyes sparkling starry shades of purple. Oh my dear Enioth, you may be humble but your pretty hide is worth each of those stars. Gently Seirath washed her enjoyment over him for his sweet words.

A spiral took her to a dark beauty, one that filled her hearts with joy to see. A wonderful green had taken up chase for her after all! This lady offered no words but her attention was so rapt that she allowed herself to ease into it with a sigh. Show me what you have lovely one. Seirath said quietly, mental caresses trailing down the green as she winged off to her next pursuer.

Dark brown this one, though on the smaller side he was touched with just the right sort of markings that drew her swirling eyes. Smiling to herself the little green danced around him for a moment, tail tips trailing over shoulders and hips as she flitted just out of reach. Keep up handsome fellow, my wings will take you for a ride.

As she was dancing about in the air, deciding on which dragon to next shower with attention she heard a soft question in her mind, one that nearly stilled her. Oh Nzambith, my lovely sister, you may always come. Come and share the sky with me beautiful. Mentally she beckoned to the larger green, eager for her sister to come no matter what capacity it was in.

Here came a giant with hearts made of the brightest of suns. Teth! Beautiful great boy you may always have my songs no matter the circumstances. Seirath placed a kiss on the end of his nose mentally. You need ever only ask! He was no mystery to her at all like one or two of the others, so shut off from her connection to that Room that she couldn't pull any information on them. No, she needn't do that with dear Teth, she'd watched him chase for over a turn now and his joy was infectious.

But there! Sparkles on darkness caught her eyes and she danced over to Aleyath despite his silence, was he yet still nervous? You came lovely one! What an honor to catch the brilliant eyes of a treasure hunter, I do hope to keep your attention. Her words came as if to run a gentle clawed hand under his jaw to his chin as she crooned encouragement for him with a cheeky wink. If she spent just a bit extra time twisting and twirling about him, a song gracing the air around the two that was unique just for him, then it was an indulgence she would allow for only Aleyath.

Glittering hide drew her attention next, not one color she had expected to have chase her but she didn't hesitate even once, spiraling around him and looking the large bronze over. Somehow he was even bigger than Teth, Seirath hadn't know that was possible and so she giggled a bit before giving him her entire focus. As long as one as sweet as you is chasing I'll surely find all the attention I desire. Gently she tapped a claw against his shining hide and thought of her larger sister's interest with a grin.

There was another beauty that deserved just as much attention though, for how could she ever deny a lady? Though she stayed just out of her reach, Seirath heaped all her adoration upon Cloveth and her beautiful form as she cut straight for her with such sweet words. Beautiful lady, lovely lady, you are the wind to the sails of my wings. Come and let the two of us dance together in this sunset.

With one last moment spent basking in all this glorious attention, Seirath gave a loud trill and soared upwards before banking towards the edge of the beach. Her wings kicked up a spray from the ocean waves before she began to gain some air, singing sweet songs for those chasing after her as the little green set about picking up speed.

Also at the water's edge and taking deep breaths as she saw the colors and faces of each dragon flash in her mind, Amra was twirling and dancing carefully on the sands. While this was the first time it was certainly not going to be the last now that she could feel the joy coming off Seirath with all the attention and that meant it would be common as were all things she enjoyed. Fluid motions came easily to the tall rider and she tried to focus all her attention on what was happening with her dragon, mimicking some of the moves with altered versions of her own.

Vith wasn't surprised that the sky filled with dragons, answering the alluring call of the green. Despite being at the Weyr for some time now he barely knew any of the dragons still and as they didn't have a wing assignment yet, he felt as though he shouldn't mingle among them too much without cause. Tonight there certainly was one, though, and she was quite the tease.

The light touch of her tail distracted him and she was off like a shot over the water, leaving him far behind. Speed had never been his forte and he knew that, but he did know that in the end it was strength that would be needed to catch the lady as she fell.

He pumped his wings steadily, making sure to keep within a fair distance of the green, not falling too far behind but not using up too much of his energy.

Back on the ground, K'mar was still strolling away from his hut, seeing who he could find to join in Vith's flightlust with. He could see a few people off in the distance, but his eyes were drawn to a young woman dancing by the water. Her movements were graceful and incredibly fluid, and as the dragons soared out over the sea, he could see how she was mimicking some of the movements of the dragon that had risen. Ah...what luck!

Approaching her, K'mar adjusted his pace to match the beat that she was swaying to. He was a mercenary at heart, but battle was sort of a dance as well. There was footwork involved and you had to have good balance and grace if you wanted to dodge attacks. While her style of dance wasn't something he was familiar with, K'mar did his best to approach her with as fluid a movement as he could. As her hand dipped down his lifted up to catch it, pulling her in his direction with a smile.

"A beautiful night for a dance," he said, his tone friendly and questioning all at the same time. There were some, he knew, who preferred to be on their own during their dragon's flights, but for her to be out here in the open was an invitation he hoped to accept.

"I can't say I'm a professional but I'd be glad to share it with you." The dance, the night, it wasn't clear to which he was alluding, but both could easily fit the bill. He didn't want to take without asking, after all.

Nzambith watched with wonder as her sister greeted all of her suitors and a little warmth burned in her chest, delighted that Seirath had so many rise with her. Her sister deserved all the attention after all. She was beautiful and wonderful and was always so kind to Nzambith, there was nothing on Pern she wished more for Sei than for her flights to be the stuff of legend. Perhaps even a gold or white would rise simply to follow the wonderful song!

Seirath accepted her presence which tossed the silly idea from her mind and she gave the smaller green a shy but thankful stroke against her busy mind in return before falling silent to watch. She didn't want to get in the way of Seirath now that things seemed to be getting underway, and with a fantastic swoop over the water Nzambith watched as she shot off like a shining rocket, quickly disappearing in the glare of the setting sun. She gave a slightly alarmed trumpet, worried she'd lose her speedy sibling, and went into a dive to try to pick up some speed. Although she was a green speed wasn't her strong suit, but her smaller frame did benefit from the currents over the water. Soon she was keeping pace off to the side with the other chasers, eyes darting between them and her sister.

As she danced and kissed him, Teth danced and kissed as well. So many dragons in the air together with no Thread uniting them, just a lovely dancing and singing dragon who beckoned them! And such an amazing group too!! So many colors, all the colors!!! Seirath deserved them for sure, she deserved lots and lots more!!

Teth happily bugled as she soared along and he followed, careful to keep himself near but not too close. He knew he was a large dragon and could easily overtake those about him but sometimes in the chase he just simply forgot! Come on!! Let's fly more, let's sing more!! Another happy howl, more waves of love and devotion towards all those around him. Teth happily returned the mental kisses with those of his own (even if they were rather like sloppy licks), and no one was spared from such things. Seirath is lovely and we are lucky and she is so nice!!

Meanwhile F'ell had managed to find himself a nice place to settle in for a nap, already attempting to will away the delight that tried to sing inside his guts and his bones.

The bronze looked pleased as he could be as the sweet green flew literal circles around him, trilling at the gentlest touch of claw to hide. The barest of shivers ran down his spine, only able to turn his head to watch her spirit around. You deserve it and all the more, for as sweet as you are. Yet as she moved on to visit the other competition, Chirakumath could only look appraisingly upon them all. No doubt he would find good competition, but Western seemed to only have the best-looking dragons. A fact that had never escaped his admiring gaze.

Oh, she was.. Lovely. Amrit could only admire as he approached Amra dancing among the sand. Yet the approach of other suitors hadn’t escaped his gaze, putting his own nerves at a small war with his flightlust desire. So he lingered, keeping a pace back from her admirers, even as the swamping emotions leaking through his bond with his dragon wanted him closer. At least he could admire her dance..

Yet as Seirath took off, dancing among the coastline, her sweetest voice in his mind, the bronze hesitated. His rider’s own hesitation had his wings faltering before he overcame, taking off after the pretty green. But his folly had cost him, for he was lingering in the back of the chasing dragons. Whoops.

Though she had stayed her distance, Cloveth could only turn bright, admiring eyes to the sweet siren. For even the chance to dance with you this evening, I am honored. Even the sun setting beautifully against the water could not compare to you. The green sang sweetly, for who better to know a lady’s loveliness than another? Yet she could not deny that Seirath had collected herself a variety of lovely suitors--and she would be happy to lose to any of them. However, that did not mean she would give up her shot!

She shot after Seirath, though her eagerness lead her a bit astray. She forced herself to slow and bank, turning to follow the sweetest song on the air.

Aleyath watched the siren weave among her suitors, shining brightly enough to covet. It felt like forever until Seirath reached him, and moments before her mind touched his, Aleyath's uncertainty spiked. The skies were thick with interest, and he was surely wasting his time here. Surely. His reluctance had nothing to do with the hangups, regrets, and fears his rider had inadvertently exposed him to during the brown's tender youth. This pleasurable act totally wasn't tied to feelings of abandonment that would likely take years to truly correct. Nope. Not... at... all.

He hung back, gathering himself to flee despite the disappointment it would bring, but then, well, she was right there, and there would be no escape. She was winking and singing and oh... she was the lovely one, not him. Tingles trailed up his back at her teasing tone, and Aleyath chuckled as his apprehension was pushed aside for now, a small seed of courage and confidence planted in its place.

You've got it all. She held so much of his attention, in fact, that he didn't even notice the nearby bronze until she moved on to greet him.

Aleyath flared his wings, showing off a little as he climbed. He didn't dip toward the water with the green, knowing that she would have to fly high again before this night was done.

Rouenth

Roenth and Rennati were just returning to their weyr after finishing up some extra chores they had taken on. Sometimes the blue pair just didn't know how to not have something to do. It had been a long day, yet, as a familiar voice drifted through the evening air it caused Rouenth to pause in his descent to his ledge. Mine...Seirath rises. Rennati's mouth pressed in a firm line. Amra and Seirath were clutchmates to them and had spent some time during weyrlinghood. They weren't complete strangers as Seirath was one of the more favorites of Rouenth among his siblings so it intrigued her that the green's flight was giving him pause.

The blue watched as others flocked to his green's luring voice, his eyes flashing red before melting into orange and purple. Seirath's is on the beach. You should keep her company. I must go to Seirath. "Mhm." It was unusual for Rouenth but she wouldn't deny him this, given his clingy tendency for her. My Seirath, I have listened to your call since before my egg cracked and I will no longer resist! He hovered on the beach just long enough for Rennati to dismount before taking the shortest route to catch up with the others, his eyes still whirling red, orange and purple.

Rennati sighed as she watched her loner blue chase after the green she had suspected held a piece of his hearts before turning her eyes onto the green's rider who was mimicking her dragons graceful dance. It was hard to not appreciate it, though in the end she'd only offer as much as Amra wished.

Quote:
Rouenth: Is likely to be violent to any nearby, expect chomp-chomps of anything he can for those unlucky enough to share the same space! He is pretty territorial and Seirath is one he's claimed as his.

Rennati: Won't be as hessitant as her first flight experience but might have more timidness the morning after, or get a little clingy, who knows! Open to both genders, just lemme knowww.
