- Fencing - When you grow up surrounded by yacht club families and respectable people you are expected to learn some specific habits. Fencing was one of those Aden’s father decided he was going to do and he took to it quite well and he’s rather good at it. Being able to just concentrate on the point of a blade and his opponent is calming and Aden enjoys getting to test himself against others. It makes for a good way to learn focus and is an impressive ‘hobby’ to have in certain social circles. It always gets attention at least. Plus being into fencing means no one asks why he’s got such a fascination with swords or why he’s got a collection of them at home.
Motorcycles - Aden was never one to shy away from things his parents didn’t like so the second he was old enough he got a motorcycle and a license to drive it. He now owns three and while he doesn’t actually race any of them he does enjoy taking them out for rides. The freedom and the feeling of the wind on him lets Aden free himself and just enjoy the moment. He also enjoys tinkering with his bike and while he can’t fix any major issues he does know how to do most minor repairs and tends to do most of the standard maintenance on his bikes himself.
Relaxing - While not a regular hobby Aden knows that he stresses himself out o the nth degree and needs some time every day for himself. Whether it’s a scalding hot bath with a nice bathbomb, a good book by the fireplace, or a glass of wine with a friend he always makes sure he takes a little slice out of the day to just enjoy existing. He lives for the little moments of piece he can find and covets them like they are precious jewels.
Virtues:
- " Measure twice, Cut Once " Methodical -- Aden likes to make sure he’s got a firm plan in place for everything before he even starts his day. He’s always been known for being able to come up with a good plan and stick to it no matter what he’s put his mind to. He would much rather have spent a bit of extra time coming up with plans for every possible wrong turn than end up not knowing what to do if something happens. He takes things one step at a time and makes sure that each step is done properly and completely before he moves on to the next one.
"One for All" Dedicated -- For all his faults Aden can and will devote himself to a cause and will stick to it through thick and thin. He hates not finishing something so if he’s decided he’s going to help someone, or reach a goal, or anything he gets there. He might stumble along the way but if he wants it he’ll have it. No matter what. His family did at least instill in him that being able to find something you really care about and work toward making that thing better was a noble goal to have and one he should aspire to.
"I woke Up Like This" Perfectionist -- Aden really doesn’t like things to go wrong and likes everything to be exactly how he wants it and how it’s supposed to be. He’s worked out a plan for everything which means that there should be no issues, ever. Since he wants everything to go perfectly he also spends extra time making sure it will. He’s willing to put in the hours necessary to make sure something goes off without a hitch even if it seems like he’s putting in more work than needed. Having that air of perfection around him is part of his shield and makes him feel safe in the bubble he’s created.
Flaws:
- "Nose in the Clouds" Aloof -- Because Aden grew up in social circles that would just as easily step on you as help you he learned to keep a tight leash on his emotions. If he never came across as caring about anything then nothing could be used against him. Now it makes it hard for him to form emotional attachments to things since he’s so used to keeping several walls between himself and those around him. It also means he comes off as rather uncaring since he never really lets his emotions show so it’s hard to pick out how he’s actually reacting to a situation at any given time.
"One Life To Live" Self Destructive -- Aden tends to life fast and loose in many ways. While he doesn’t do anything silly like throwing himself out of planes or climbing mountains he does tend to get himself into things that could kill him. While he wont admit it he’s been to rehab a few times for various issues and somehow keeps finding himself with new bad habits. He tends to gravitate toward things that are bad for him without a care in the world. Even if someone explains how stupid what he’s doing is he’ll ignore it and continue on until he’s, quite often, literally dragged away from the problem.
"#Flawless" Perfectionist -- If anything gets in between Aden and his outward appearance of flawless perfection there is liable to be a meltdown of epic proportion. He works incredibly hard to keep up the look like everything is under control and in control and nothing is going wrong. To the point that Aden will drive himself into the ground (see above) to make sure things stay ‘Perfect’. He has to look, act, and be ‘perfect’ and while he knows some of that is a hang-up from his family he can’t actually break himself out of the cycle. It’s bad for him and he knows it but he needs it.
