Fresh snow has fallen over Destiny City for the third time this week; most people seem to have stayed inside today due to a particularly heavy flurry, but you find yourself outside tonight for some reason. The weather has faded, revealing a sparkling night sky. Much of the ground is covered in a crisp layer of snow--but more than that, beautiful flowers in the shape of snowflakes have sprouted in the ground. They grow in small patches and permeate a pleasant, sweet fragrance. If the flowers are not kept in freezing temperatures, they melt, but for the duration of their lifespan they are beautiful, fragile things. In such a busy metropolis, isn't it nice to take a moment to take a moment and appreciate nature? Even if there does seem to be something a little magical about this?

Snow was still a relatively new thing to one Delilah Diana Samson.

That was mostly because she was also new to winter. And life. And everything about everything.

Still, it had snowed three times that week, and Delilah still wasn't tired of it. She loved snow. It sparkled. Everyone seemed to be glowing. She wanted to lay in it, honestly, but the last time she had tried that had been a disaster because laying in the snow was mostly cold and not as fun as it looked. She learned the first time she had done that to actually put on a few more layers, mostly because it was very cold outside and the snow was even colder, and she wasn't a big fan of the cold.

She was a big fan of the snow, though. Honestly, she couldn't understand why some of her coworkers and some of her classmates were complaining so much about it. Especially when it was just sitting on the ground like it was now! It wasn't like it was getting in the way of anything! It was just there, sparkling in the clear night sky, being beautiful and making her want to just lay in it once more and--

Wait.

Were those flowers?

Delilah gasped, bending down to get a closer look at what was actually in front of her. They were... what were those? Delilah took out her phone, taking a quick picture and using an image search to figure out what the shape was. Snowflakes were the answer to that one, but snowflakes usually didn't grow on stems out of the ground. In fact, from what she could tell from her quick research, that never happened. Snowflakes fell from the sky to the ground and became the mass of snow in front of her that sparkled under the moonlit sky. They didn't ... grow.

She guessed it could be argued that snowflakes grew through the weather cycle. That seemed like a legitimate thing from her quick research and --

Oh, she was getting distracted. There were snowflake flowers in front of her face. The internet was clearly lying in this case, or maybe this had just never happened before. After all, Delilah was magical herself, as were several people she knew. Maybe this was just some form of beautiful, snow-based magic?

Happily, Delilah bent in a little closer, going to scoop one of the snowflake flowers up so she could take a closer look. Needless to say, she was a bit dismayed to find that instead of coming closer to her, the flower simply melted in her palm, becoming a puddle of water much like the snow she put in her hands did. She guessed that wasn't the way to get a closer look at them in this case. Made sense. They were made out of snow, after all.

So, Delilah carefully laid herself in the snow, careful to avoid any of the delicate flowers. It left her with her legs partially in the sidewalk, but she figured it was fine, more entranced by what she saw in front of her than potentially tripping someone or something.

They were gorgeous.

They glistened in the moonlight like stars.

Delilah was content to just absorb the beauty of this world, this magic, this light for a few minutes, but after those few minutes, Delilah decided she needed to document this moment permanently. She had to show Jade, or some of her friends from DCU, or maybe some of the people at work. They always had things to brag about. She didn't.

This was her chance.

... And maybe she could get a few of these pictures blown up for her room.

And so, she spent the next half-hour taking varying pictures of the beautiful scene, until the flowers started to melt away.
