The cooler weather has brought a pleasant chill to the waters of Kahikina. With the days growing shorter, you know it's time for the most wonderful time of the year. It's the season of love and appreciation, where the people of the rivers, swamps, and sea give trinkets and gifts to those they care about.
You've got quite the list of friends and family to spread some cheer, and little time left to find a gift and present it. What gift do you find? Does it have special meaning to you and the recipient? How do they react when you finally give it to them and do they give you anything in return?

 The Perfect Gift
As the weather cooled, so did the waters, not that Kai minded much. Dress a bit more and everything was fine. He did however find it interesting to watch the changes that occurred above the water line. On the shores new birds would appear only to leave within a couple of days. Animals he would see normally would end up hibernating (a word he learned from his father not too long ago). But with the changes in the weather, also meant that some festive activities were coming. This would not be his first year looking for the prefect gift for his family, the only thing was that it was always a challenge to find something suitable for both his siblings.
Kai always had troubles getting something for those two. After all it had to be equally great when compared to each other (despite them both having different tastes and interests) as they tended to get jealous of each others things. Honestly Kai found it very stressful, but as he was getting older he felt he had more of an obligation to try his very best to please them both.
Sighing he pursed his lips as he tried to think of all the things that he could try and get them. Right now Mhuana was really into her appearance. Always trying out a new hair style (although often times a very messy one) claiming that she was the fairest in all the rivers. So a bit self centered that one. His brother on the other hand was more interested in building things or undoing things...like the fish nets that he and his father would spend time making to only find their work half undone the next day. Gaio would always state he was trying to see how it was put together.
A new hair clip or accessory made the most sense for Mhauna, and something Gaio could take apart and occupy his time would work best for him. Though what exactly he wasn't entirely sure.
It was best to do the easier sibling first. Mhauna.
Going to the market he swam past many vendors selling their wares, some had what he was looking for but Kai really wanted to make his gift so...he needed the parts first. Buying with his own pocket money some materials to make the clip and then he had to find the accessories part. Something different...unique. Shells..although commonly from snails and freshwater clams were not very showy. Shells from the sea were rarer, and now that they were reunited with the people from the sea they were more common to see these days but they were fairly expensive still. Still...he found himself drawn to a particularly showy shell from the sea. It had quite a high price, but....chewing on his lower lip he knew that Mhauna would love it. Digging into his pockets he paid the vendor and acquired the precious item.
Now he would just have to put it together. Most likely he would ask his mother for help as she was pretty good at doing crafts like that.
What about Gaio?
Kai looked through most of the vendors, and nothing really seemed to suit his brothers unique tastes in creation and destruction. About to be defeated and head home he spotted something that..help some promise. If...he could figure out what it was.
Swimming over he picked it up, it was a cube. You could see that it was all put together like a puzzle and was actually quite interesting to look at. But...after rotating it in his hands a moment he frowned and went to put it down. Although he had never seen anything like it before a ...cube made of wood was hardly interesting.
"Ah...its a puzzle." The vendor spoke as he finally took notice that Kai was looking at his wares.
Tilting his head Kai picked it back up and rotated it around his hands again.
"All the pieces come out. " The vendor continued as he took the puzzle from Kai's hand and after rotating it went to slip a piece out. Amazed he watched as the vendor continued to undo the cube until there was only pieces were left on the counter before them.
"Wow..." Kai stated starting to get excited now. Gaio would LOVE this. Buying the item, he felt a glow on his face. The perfect gifts! He found them and he only had to put his sisters together but he was basically done!
Swimming home he couldn't wait until his siblings saw what he got them.
