Near the outskirts of the clearing is a snow covered pathway leading into the adjacent forest. Couples and clusters of friends disappear into the shaded area, their delight in the beautiful scenery loud enough for any passersby to hear. Deciding to venture in to see what the fuss is all about, you (and perhaps whoever you're with) head towards the marked path. Twenty minutes or so in and you soon realize that you must have fallen distracted at some point because the path is no longer obvious and there's neither sound nor sight of any other people around. The sun begins to set and you can swear you hear quiet whispers among the trees. You'd better find your way back somehow - and fast - before the whispers’ owners find you first.Dria wandered near the edge of the Carnival Clearing and found a path into the woods. As she watched, couples seemed to drift down it and disappear. She realized that she was a bit lonely herself and wanted to disappear down that trail with someone. A boy. Any boy. Preferably one her own age. Preferably not Drew. She edged ever closer to that trail, took a step closer and then another. She soon found herself taking it – alone. She found herself ever deeper and deeper into the woods. Whispers were everywhere. She tried to find the whispers of the couples, but they seemed to have disappeared. She was lost. The whispers were of frightening things, of frightening people. They seemed to try to find her. She had to get out of the woods, before they found her, but she was good and lost, and couldn’t find the trail. She screamed and bolted.

The winter weather was much nicer when Cynthia had clothes that were actually made for combating the cold on. Which is why she had wandered to the forest near the carnival, trying to take some pictures of the undisturbed forest. What she found however were a bunch of people, mostly couples, had wandered into it, ruining the look of the snow that had just recently fallen with their footsteps. She glared at the offending tracks, but decided to wander in herself to see if she could get a good picture another way. Perhaps a good picture of the sunset through the trees? After she had wandered in a bit, she realized that she wasn't exactly sure where she had come from, and the places were her footsteps were supposed to be had disappeared! It was weird, but nothing that crazy. After all, if she wanted to get out, she could just jump into one of the high trees to take a look around after powering up, right? That's when she heard a scream, though she couldn't tell where it had come from. Not that she needed to. She soon felt herself being run into and pushed into the ground! As soon as she could, she looked around to see what had happened, and saw that another girl was around here, and apparently had been screaming. Cynthia was curious as to what may have caused the other girl to scream, but not that curious if it were dangerous. She got up, brushing some snow off of her, and went over to where the girl was. "Uh... do you need some help?"

Dria go up, spooked, but slowly calmed – a little. She dusted herself off. She listened for them. They were not as loud now. She did not look at the other girl as she said, “I got lost, pretty badly.” That was all she would say for the moment. The whispers started getting a little louder. They were coming after her again. “Do you hear them?” She asked the new girl, quite calmly and plainly. She was quiet for a minute. “Isn’t the Sunset beautiful?” Another minute passed, and the Whispers got really loud. “Don’t you hear them?” She asked calmly once more. She waited another minute, then screamed, “Don’t you hear the whispers, the insane whisperers coming after us? RUN!” She bolted again! SSBrosB Word Count= You: 270, Me: 237

Cynthia looked around, trying to see where the "whispers" may have been coming from. She didn't hear anything! Though with it being so quiet, she could imagine that eventually one would start to some voices. But there was no way they would be coming from the trees... was there? Of course if she powered up she could sense if it was some sort of youma or not, but this Winter had already proven that not all of the strange things that happened here were caused by the Negaverse. Still though, the other girl seemed to be freaking out, and before Cynthia could say anything, the girl darted off! Cynthia sighed and decided to go after the girl, hoping that they weren't going too far into the woods.

As Dria ran through the woods, she tripped over something and went flying. A tree root hit her in the eye. “OW!” She cried out. She would have a black eye in the morning. She could already feel it swelling. She struggled to get up. She could still hear the whispers, louder now, but they were sort of disjointed and static-y. She followed them back to where she tripped and pulled out her phone, which miraculously wasn’t broken by the fall. She switched on the flashlight and turned on the area – and low and behold a stereo… and she had somewhat busted it. The whispers were coming from it. “You nut! You broke my stereo! Screaming like a banshee! Running a scared rabbit!” Screamed an 11-year-old boy coming out of the shadows. “Knew you were the wrong person to prank! Knew you’d do something stup-” He stopped dead looking at Dria’s livid, black-eyed face. “This was a prank!??! You think this is funny?!?! You little… When I get my hands on you-” SSBrosB Word Count: You 397, Me 409, Suggestion: Cythnia can interupt her

Cynthia followed the other girl, though she wasn't right behind. It was a bit hard to tell in the snow, but eventually Cynthia found the other's tracks again, and eventually came upon a scene. She could see Dria yelling at some pre-teen and then she saw the radio. She rolled her eyes. Well clearly the boy had set it up for some strange reason, and she didn't disagree with Dria's anger. She would probably punch the little snot too. She walked up to Dria and put her hand on the other's shoulder. "Yelling isn't going to help the situation." Cynthia said, trying to calm the other girl down. She glared at the kid. "You are really stupid, you know that?" She said and, not waiting for a reply from either the boy or from Dria, she walked over to the stereo, and promptly stomped on it. And then again, and again, and again, until it was barely recognizable as a stereo anymore. It helped to have heavy boots on. She heard the boy screaming about the stereo and Cynthia glared at him again. "Why don't you go running back to your parents and tell them why you're stereo is broken beyond repair? I bet they'll love what you were doing out here." She said, just daring the kid to do something stupid like try to attack them.

Dria calmed down from the woman’s words and watched as she trashed the boy’s stereo. It did Dria some good to know there was some justice in the world. She watched as the boy picked up what was left of his stereo and ran off sniveling into the woods. “Thank you so much,” She nodded to the woman. “At least I know I’m not crazy. By the way, I’m Xandria, but everyone calls me Dria. What can I call you? I wonder if we can find our way out now?” She looked at the woman with her one good eye, the other was now swollen shut. “I’m all turned around now. And I’m half-blind. I hope my Grams doesn’t get mad at me for being late… she’s visiting and she does not forgive easily. My twin brother made a mistake six years ago, and this is the first time, she’s come to the house to visit since – and she only came on the condition that he be banished from the house for the week she’s here. Of course, that was a worst mistake and…well complicated… and I’m babbling… I’m sorry.” She sighed. “Can you help me find my way out?” SSBrosB Word Count:You: 624, Me: 609

Cynthia shook her head at the boy, and it was all it took for her not to give him a swift kick in the rear. But when she looked back at Dria, she jumped back a bit in surprise. The poor girl looked terrible! "I'm Cynthia. But let's help you a bit first, I don't think you're Grandma is going to want to see you with such an awful eye." She replied, looking around and eventually finding the path back. "I'll help you home, though we should see if there's something we can do before you get there first." She said, taking the other girl's hand and helping her out of the woods. Cynthia really didn't get why one would prefer their Grandmother over their brother, or someone who had banned someone from the house, but she didn't know the situation. Perhaps it was a really terrible mistake and their grandmother had a reason not to want to be near her grandson. Still, what mattered right now was helping Dria get out of there and back home safely.
