Quote: Among the nearby winter wonderland festivities sits a natural-made skating rink, constantly covered in men and women of all ages and all range of skill - some skate like pros and some are clearly new to the sport. As you make your way onto the ice, you seem to be doing fine… that is, until a wayward snowball comes hurtling in your direction -- look out! Hands find their way around you… have you been saved by a friend, or perhaps a good Samaritan that was skating by? Do they manage to keep you standing or did you manage to take them down with you? One thing's for certain...not even the most professional of ice skaters could have prepared themselves for that!

e carnavel that Kaileen went to also had an ice skating ring. Kaileen remembered found memories of when her mother was alive. They had made it an tradition every Christmas to go to the skating ring as a family. A family tradition that her and her brothers and father did as a family together.
They would first go to to her mother's grave and put flowers and talk to her. Then they would go to her favorite restaurant and eat. It might seem see is to other people but Kaileen would order her mother's favorite food but she never did eat it. She just ordered it and putted down on the table as if her mother was there with her.
Afterwards they would go ice skating. Today was especially special for Kaileen cause her older brother Kyle was going to be home from college for the Christmas holiday. Kaileen missed him so much.
They had all just left the restaurant and were in the car on their way to the ice skating rink. Kaileen was reminiscing her first time learning how to skate. She was around four and a half years old and was a little afraid. What if she fell and hurt herself? What if she got laughed at by the other kids? Would ice skating be like regular skating or harder? So many questions were running in her mind. Her mother told her that it would be fun and that she would get the hang of it.
Her mother had took her to a outdoor sporting like store to buy her first ice skates.
"Sweetie it's better to buy them from a store. Rentals can be cheap"
Her mother smiled at her.
She was clothed in layers and layers of clothes. Not a skin was exposed. Her mother even made her wear a helmet.
"Sorry baby but mommy is just protecting you. It's better like this. Expose skin is a nono. If you fall, you may have to literally peel your skin off the ice.
Now that Kaileen was older and more experienced at ice skating she didn't need the helmet or all the extra clothing.
The roller rink at the carnival was packed. Even packet that most of rides there. Kaileen quickly putted on her skates and got on the ice. She took some time to let her feet and body get use to skating. When she was first got started learning how to ice skate she quickly learned that it wasn't exactly the same as regular skating. She watched some first time skaters get on the ice and held on to the wall for support as they made their way around the rink.
For her, the first time she found the ice too slippery. She was slithering and somehow trying to maintain balance and stand still.
She fell many many many times.
She was too busy thinking about that day that she wasn't even paying attention to what was going on before her. She heard someone say something to het but it was too late. She had collided into a little girl.
They both fell to the ground.
"I'm so sorry."
Kaileen got her self up and bent to help the little girl up. The little girls bottom lip started trembling.
"No please dont cry. I'm so sorry. It's ok."
The lite girl then wiped her face with the back of her hands.
A lady who looked to be the girls big sister went over and helped the girl up and skated away with her. But not without giving Kaileen a death state.
Kaileen looked around the rink until she saw her brothers and father and went over to them. From now on she was going to pay attention.
