Quote: he Holidays are supposed to be a time for cheer, and yet there's something strangely dismal about tonight. You're out by yourself and you pass by a building completely coated in a strange sheet of ice. When you catch your reflection, you're trapped reliving your loneliest moment. The illusion can last for as long or short a time as you like, but the hollow sensation lingers even after the memory fades. What memory did you find yourself reliving and, now that it's over, what are you going to do to shake this mood? December had been... somewhat interesting. So far nothing big had happened like last year, where he had been in that greenhouse or whatever and the plants had attacked. At least he was pretty sure it was last year. He might have gotten it mixed up. They were all starting to blur together with the attacks and weird things that went on. Which is why it surprised Jason that nothing had happened yet, to him, this year. He had gotten a text from Cynthia at some point that she had to cancel plans because some evil sweater was forcing her to sing everything she wanted to say, but for him? Nothing. Which is why it made him suspicious. He felt that at any moment he was going to be attacked by... something. He didn't know what, but it would be something at least. Currently he was passing by what seemed to be completely frozen buildings, which made him wonder if they had been abandoned because they were covered in ice in some parts, but one building in particular really caught his eye, as it was completely covered in ice! Which made him head for it to see what was going on!

Drew was already at the building staring at his reflection. Or at least that was how it looked to outsiders. He had easily been caught, because he was already reliving the nightmare of that day – if only to a lesser extent. Christmas Day 2013. Stuck in a Juvenile Delinquent solitary cell with nothing to do but to replay the events of the last month over and over. A plane ride home ending in disaster – a twin – his other half missing, perhaps forever… no body found... A police officer remarks that said twin may never be found – a unspoken phobia now brought to realization. Drew flips out and goes a tirade. Which may have caused Granpa’s untimely heart attack and death. Grams flies into a rage and screams that she never want to see any of them again. Drew, driven by pain and loneliness snuck out that night, in that small town. He robbed the local convenience store to get cans of spray paint. Then he went to town hall and was in the midst of spray painting a masterpiece of Dria and Granpa in his pain, when the local sheriffs drove up. He was arrested. Dad came to visit but said he wasn’t bailing Drew out just yet. Drew needed real help that he couldn’t give him. He also announced that Drew’s mother had been taken to the local mental health hospital. And he also mentioned that Drew’s Aunt Dia was going to take Drew’s little sister Dani away to live, and that it was for her own good. That day Drew was stuck staring at the solitary cell wall. Just as now, he was stuck staring at his own reflection. SSBrosB sorry this took so long, Word Count: 281

It was only when he got closer to the building that Jason realized that someone was already there, looking straight into the ice. He wandered over, wondering what the other one was looking at, but couldn't see anything... at first. Then he was caught up in his own memory for a bit, looking at the ice, he could see that it had been the first Winter, when he had been awakened. He felt so... alone since he couldn't tell his brother, or pretty much any other soul about what had happened to him. And it had hurt. Hurt that he couldn't share such a thing with his brother, to have his brother give him some advice on what he could do or help him out in some way. In a way, he had started to grow up that day. But it wasn't too lonely of a memory, not one that could really distract Jason for so long. He, at this point, always felt a bit lonely, but it seemed to be true, that heroes were always lonely somehow. He looked away from the ice, to the other guy who had been staring into it. Surely he hadn't seen what Jason had, as it was Jason's own memory... so what did that mean for the other? Jason was concerned. He didn't want to interrupt the other's introspection but... "Hey, are you all right?" He said, trying to address the guy next to him.

It took a moment, but Drew was pulled from his memory lane. He stirred, to find another teenager there, one he seemed to recall meeting once, Jace or James or something. He couldn’t think about that now. He was still lost, for though the reliving was over, his present situation revived the pain, for after all these years, even after he’d turned his life around, found his twin sister and got his family back together, it was not enough. His grandmother had finally come to visit, and immediately upon setting foot in the door, had banished his presence from the house for the week that she was there as a condition of her staying. And it was Christmas. He was stuck staying with friends and had ventured out for a walk. Only to find these buildings covered in ice. That was when he found himself stuck in the moment reliving it all. But that was also when he caught a glimpse of it…. An ice demon – a yomua cackling at him from his reflection. That snapped him out of it. He jerked his head up at the kid, Jason (he now remembered his name). “Jason, you have to get out of here, there’s a monster in the ice! He’s what is trapping people there! And he’s draining their energy! You must leave, before you get trapped again! By the way, I had forgotten, but we met once before. My name is Drew. Now go!” He ran out of sight hatting to abandon his friend, but he wasn’t really, he had to power up. Which he did. Into Super Sailor Etamin! Then he returned. Was Jason still there, he wondered? The memory of meeting the other guy was starting to come back, but Jason felt like the details were... fuzzy in some way. However, it seemed that the guy was finally stirring from whatever he was doing looking at that ice, and Jason was about to say something, when suddenly the other man yelled out a warning! And his name was Drew! ... Jason thought he had remembered the name, but had been unable to remember it exactly... Suddenly though, the other one ran off, and Jason could only raise an eyebrow. He wasn't surprised that the other ran away, but why did they so easily recognize a monster? Jason looked back into the ice and could see something coming forward. Which meant a youma. Seems Drew had been right. Well, there was only one thing to do when a youma attacked wasn't there? Jason used his will power to summon his staff, which appeared in front of him, and which he then used to transform into Alphubel. He then noticed that a super senshi was coming to him and he wondered who it was. He didn't remember seeing the other before... but any help would be great for fighting this youma! He grinned at the other, taking a few steps back from the monster as it was coming out of the glass. "Glad you could make it! Want to help me fight this thing?" He asked the senshi, pointing his staff at the monster, ready to use his weapon at any time.

Super Sailor Etamin relaxed a former acquaintance at the scene of the youma, Alph! How’d he get here so fast? But he had grown? Was he a full Knight now? Drew shook his head, no time for that now. He ran forward, an extremely cold breeze streaming through his kilt. Darn, he hated being from a desert planet in the winter. But he smiled at Alph’s words (who clearly didn’t recognize him). “You bet I do, Alph!” He came to a standstill next to his acquaintance just as the youma stepped out of the ice. He used his power on the monster: Super Sailor Scout Attack: Pharaoh's Plague (appear in air) -Directions: Write Curse in Hieroglyphics in air. In English reads, "Blind and deaf as Pharaoh, In death, you will be, Until count of thirty, Cause you would not listen to me." -Effects: Blinds and deafens enemy for 25 seconds -Uses: 2 And the monster was blinded and deafened.

Alphubel had been... out of the game for almost a year at this point. Barely powering up having been so focused on his senior year of high school and graduating to the point where he had barely powered up anymore. And unfortunately that meant unless he saw them often, he wouldn't remember other knights and senshi that he had seen before that easily. It would take a few minutes of conversation for his brain to finally retrieve the memory, which would then make him blush in embarrassment at having forgotten. Either way though, it seemed that the Super was ready to help him, and the senshi attacked first. If Alphubel had heard correctly, his magic would be useless until the Senshi's spell went away. Which was fine. They both seemed to have a sort of debilitating magic in a way. He nodded to the other. "Excellent. That should be long enough to dust this guy." Alph replied, and moving his staff so that he could carry it more easily, ran up to the youma and punched it in it's... face. Or supposed face. Sometimes they had hidden faces elsewhere.

Etamin kicked the senseless youma against the ice wall, shattering some of the ice and knocking it down. Picking a block of it up, he smashed it on the youma’s head, saying, “So too cool for school? I’ll just have to melt you with my desert heat!” He spun kicked the youma and knocked him to the ground. The youma dusted. He exhaled, breathing hard. “Thanks Alph. You don’t remember me do you? It’s me Etamin. I suppose I’ve changed a bit in the last year – graduated to Super and all. And you? You’re a full Knight aren’t you? You were a Squire, when I last saw you. I barely recognized you. Congratulations!” SSBrosB Word Count: You: 884, Me: 822

Etamin did well to dust the youma, and Alph was a bit jealous of how easily it was done. He might have to take some tips for fighting from the Super. Though it was hard to do kicks and such with a long robe and a staff. Etamin didn't have that problem though, which must have been nice for senshi. They didn't have to lug their "weapon" around constantly. Alph groaned when he heard the name and put his head in his hand. "Etamin, of course!" He looked back at the super. "Grats on becoming a Super! You deserved it!" The other really did. Alph blushed when he was congratulated also. "Yeah... still doesn't feel real, and it's already been a year. Sometimes I don't feel like I should be one but... here I am!" He gave the Super a small grin. He sighed. "It's been too long and I haven't powered up in a while. What have you been doing? We could catch up over some coffee or something if it's not too late out..." At least his dorms could be entered by key card if he wasn't back by the time the front desk closed. Etamin thanked Alph for his compliments, but commented, “I’d actually prefer your uniform and weapon right – as you can see, it is the dead of winter and I’m in a dress! Well, kilt, I get is the proper word for it. but my butt is freezing! My arms and legs feel like frozen slabs of meat. To make it worse, with my long hair being braided and along – people are mistaking me for a girl these days! Even with my uh… rippling muscles… I’d sure like your fluffy cozy robe this time of year. And I think it is great you are still in the business. Real life can be bummer or a real determent to this life. Do you know that my Grandmother came to visit after five years of nothing for Christmas and promptly banished me from the house for the week of Christmas – if she was going to stay there – for a mistake I made six years ago? When I had just lost my twin sister, perhaps forever? I’m staying with friends, but I can’t even stay with family during the holidays.” He sighed. “It’s about enough to make you give up hope in mankind, but I still have my sisters, who are also senshi, and my friends who took me in, one of which who is one too. They and people like you give me hope.” He smiled sadly. “It’s late. I’m sorry I kept you so long. Good night.” He strode off. SSBrosB That should do it. Word Court, you: 1081, me 1069.
