December twenty first had arrived, and Knot had seriously considered standing Beringia up.
So much had happened since the last time she had seen the knight. So much turmoil as as her foundation was getting ripped up underneath her. It was made worse by the further they got into December, and the closer they got to the day she was corrupted. It was just a few days away now, and it loomed over her. It was harder to stay afloat. This, combined with the fact she still hadn't seen or spoken to Sergei since their fight...it had been a while, and the time apart made the ache worse. Worse than that, was that she didn't know how to bridge that gap right now, and felt that the more time passed it just made it...worse.
Oh, and Destiny City exploding into holiday cheer and blasting Christmas music everywhere she went also didn't help. No wonder depression sky rocketed during the holidays. The constant reminder that she didn't have family, or anyone to spend it with, and unlike that song said, it was most certainly not the most wonderful time of the year.
She didn't stand him up though.
She wanted to see him.
He was a bright spot in an otherwise shitty time right now, and the thought of him making his way out here, and to not find her...well it just made her feel like s**t, and she would be s**t if she did it.
Thus Knot stood at 7:45 PM, in the spot they had last parted ways. She, unfortunately, traded in her garters this time around for dark jeans, knee high lace up boots, and finally, a real winter coat, complete with a scarf. Her long white hair was pulled up on the top of her head into a messy bun, and she waited.
She also had two large cups of hot chocolate in hand.

Beringia, much like his counterpart, was a man that came on time, exactly on time. EXACTLY ON TIME. So he showed up at 8pm where they were suppose to meet with a picnic basket snagged from his sister and a large blanket because he expected that Knot would come in her garters again JUST because.
He was surprised though to see the woman in anything but that and stopped next to her.
"Feelin sick?" He joked, reaching out to touch her forehead. "I see you have brought gift." He took the hot chocolate from her and sniffed at it. "I have brought gifts as well." The first was him leaning in and kissing her lips.
"There is meteor shower tonight." And what better to spend a birthday, looking up into the sky and watching falling stars. "And also food, cause...birthday." He grinned, "There is good spot, so if you hold all of this..." He passed it over and then gestured for her to prepare to get in his arms.
They were about to fly tonight.

And that's why she didn't stand him up. Seeing him made things a little brighter, and everything, during their time together, was just focused on the now. Knot's brows lifted as she took in what he brought. A picnic basket...interesting. The woman snorted softly as the tease. "First, you can't feel my temperature through those gloves." She smiled. "Second, no, I'm working on getting a higher rating than last time. I'm dressed for the weather, R.B. What do you rank me now?" Her brows lifted, waiting, but yes, it was a good gift when he leaned in to kiss her. She returned it, and would be getting more later, but it seemed he had a--- "...Oh?" The woman tilted her head, utterly curious. "You weren't kidding about that surprise last time I---" Knot's breath caught in her throat as the man grinned at her. He smirked, he even smiled once, and she knew it was something he didn't do a lot. She could just...tell. But he grinned at her, and it just...made her stomach do funny things. Really funny things. Knot, when prompted, took everything he had been holding, and adjusted the cups of hot chocolate into the basket as well for safe keeping. Luckily they had leak proof lids. She laughed a bit. "...This is just like when you first swept me off my feet." Like her holding the duffel bag as he flew through the city...except now it was a picnic basket. The woman held onto the basket tightly, and she moved into his arms like the last time they had done this as well. Since she was there, she kissed him once more, because the beauty of being her height was that she was right there. "Ready when you are, Brr."

"Hov do knov hmm? Do vear my gloves? Eh?" He smirked at her, the grin fading away into his normal face. He didn't often do it, and sometimes he became to aware of it so it disappeared quickly. "I suppose can be....8 out of 10." He nodded, "You have earned point. good job, good job. "
Once she had everything gathered, he scooped her up and accepted all kisses given to him. Once he was sure she was comfortable, he shot up into the sky, using tree's tops to hop from one location to another until they were in a large garden. Instead of setting them down into it though, he chose to land on the top of a stone gazebo, using the flattened surface as a good sitting spot. He set Still down and moved to take the blanket for her.
"There is meteor shover tonight." He took the basket next, setting food between them and pulling out something that required him to blow it up. It looked like a small couch thing actually, so he was hard at work blowing it up so they could rest against it against the curved gazebo top.
"There is soup in big thermos. Coffee in another. There is crackers and brie." He waited, "Also Olives. There is dessert too." He said all of this in between breaths into the inflatable item.
"Sister also made hot buttered rum, if we get too chilly." And lastly at the bottom of the basket was another blanket, large enough for them to share.
"Is surprise good?"

She only shook her head and laughed that he raised her up one point. The feeling of flying through the city again, and not of her own power, was thrilling, if not a bit chilly this time around. It didn't matter. She loved it. She loved it, and she wasn't sure what to expect, as per the surprise, so it was an adventure. Knot stood as he set her down, and looking around from their tall perch on the gazebo, before returning her attention back to the knight. "I didn't know there was." She replied, watching him...set up this rather detailed layout, and the more he spoke, describing what there was, and the more he brought up, the woman found herself, quite honestly, speechless. It was so...thoughtful. So kind. So wonderful, and it was for her. This, honestly, might have been one of the nicest things anyone had ever done for her. After a moment she found her voice. "...And here I was, honestly looking forward to just sitting on that fountain back there curled up with you again." She gave a bit of a laugh. "I'm coming up short on words because I'm blown away. The surprise is more than good---it's incredible." She carefully moved over the items laid out so that she could be beside him, and waited for an opportunity where he wasn't preoccupied with the small inflatable couch. Knot reached, cupping his face, so that she could kiss him, and the gratitude she felt, the awe, transferred into the kiss. " Thank you." She let go of him, and turned back to the spread, with a look of wonder she still felt showing through. "You put my hot chocolate to shame." She laughed.

"Vell, had time to prepare." He nodded, "Had help. Also knev stars would be dancing tonight." That was actually his sisters doing. Methone had been watching the night sky and whenever there was a meteor shower, the senshi found herself dancing to it. No matter the weather.
"Too cold." He said about the fountain, "Ve can still cuddle up." He narrowed his eyes, "But there is also food nov. Good benefits." It was like he was trying to upsell his already amazing upsell.
The kiss was returned as he took a break from blowing up the item he was, pressing his lips against hers.
"I like hot chocolate." He nodded, "so you are lucky. I take your offering." The couch was blown up and thrown against the wall before he took a seat and made himself comfortable.
Then he gestured to his side for Knot to come.
"Is good night for birthday, no?"

"Your sister?" She inquired, since he had spoken about her helping to prepare some of the food. Knot's smile was wide. "I would've loved to have been a fly on the wall for that conversation." She grinned at him. "Hey sis, there's this lady who does shady illegal jobs for her grandma who I hang out with and I'm macking on as a knight instead of patrolling---can you help me prep for her birthday?" She teased. "I'm incredibly grateful though. Not only is she a star and queen of the Russian Ballet, she is of the party as well. Please give her my thanks." When the man finished inflating the couch and set it down, making himself comfy, Knot just looked at him for a moment. She couldn't help but be struck by the difference between his treatment of her and....He wanted her next to him. Was welcoming. Smiled. Was gruff when he spoke to her, at times, yes, but not at her because of...what she was. " You make it a good night for a birthday." Knot replied. "The meteor shower and the food is just the icing on the cake." She didn't waste anymore time, and came over to join him on the inflatable couch. She sank onto it, and took up the same position she had with the man during their previous meeting. She curled into his side, tucking her head against the crook of his neck. "When's your's, Brr?" The woman asked. "Your birthday---and any tips on where I should be looking in the sky, exactly?"

"Don't get high horse." He snorted, "I said I need picnic meal. She didn't ask many questions, just gave me basket and helped me pick out easy things." He wouldn't mention that he had been particularly picky because well, Beringia was picky. His gaze looked away but he was amused none the less. "Don't tell slacking on the job, or she would have my knighthood." His sister was the last person to harass him as half her patrols were her dancing around on her wonder....
"Vell, either vay, good night for birthday." the first of the meteors fell, one and then two and then a small handful. Small lights dancing across the night sky. His arm wrapped around her once she joined him and he moved the blanket over her lap.
"Has already passed." He nodded, "Vas thanksgiving this year. Had to escape family." Lord had he had to escape his family.
"Look up." He tilted her chin up and rested the back of his neck on the cushioned inflatable. "There is many worlds pass and falling and moving tonight."

"Oh, it's too late for that, Brr. That high horse is got and I have that stallion stabled." Knot grinned. "I'm not telling a soul." She replied. "I'm benefiting from you slacking on the job." Knot blinked at the reply, once again pausing at the answer. Once again how...odd. That was also Sergei's birthday... "Ah, I missed it. Happy belated birthday. I hope it was good, even if you had to escape your family." As she replied, though, a part of her was wondering what she could give him. It'd be a very late gift, but she wanted to get him something...especially after this. The woman put the thought on the back burner to mull it over, focusing as the man tilted her chin up. It took a moment for her eyes to adjust and focus on the sky, but she caught sight of one, and then another, and then more. She gasped, delighted. "I've never seen this before." Her voice grew soft. "It's beautiful." She leaned her head back to rest against his shoulder again, so that she could look up, and his words about worlds passing and moving made her think about...her's. It was somewhere up there... "Do you have a favorite constellation?" She asked, low, after a moment. "Mine's the Big Dipper. It's because it's a giant spoon."

It was pretty, and it was nice to have a simple night like this.
It was just....simple.
"Do not have favorite." He liked looking at stars, but he didn't pay attention to them. He was not an astrologer....
Just a knight from the sky.
"You like the big spoon eh?"
It was joke.

"Mhmmm." Knot hummed, smiling. "Well, since you don't have a favorite, I'm going to give you one. It's the Little Dipper." She glanced over at him, her smile widening. "Polaris is apart of it as well, so it's fitting." Her eyes creased in amusement at him. " You can be the little spoon to my big spoon." Because she could joke as well. She looked back up at the sky, because she wanted to keep watching the meteors shoot across the sky with their beautiful light tails. Looking up at the sky though, she also couldn't help but ask: "Beringia---even knowing what all those stars and planets are---what they mean---" So many Senshi and Knights. Agents, Dark Mirrors, and Corrupts. "Do you still find the night sky to be beautiful?"

Her self approved favorite constellation for him made him snort again, hand coming up to play in white long hair. They tugged at her joke of little dipper.
"I see, Just want to big spoon me." He scrunched his nose.
At her questions, he was silent again before shrugging.
"The sky night does not change because there is worlds out there. That vould...." He tried to word it right, "Ve vould miniscule regardless. There has alvays been aliens and life out there, ve are not only ones." He just shrugged again, "It just interesting that ve can travel out there and know the history as vell."
He paused, "Does it change the sky for you?"

His hand in her hair felt nice. The touch made her pleasantly shudder, lightly, and she grinned as he tugged. She tore her gaze away from the sky briefly to lean, lips brushing against his ear. "Mhm." She murmured. "I just want to bend you over---" She paused for a moment. " And spoon you." She chuckled softly, and kissed him behind said ear. The woman then sought out his other hand, and like before, fingers slid along his wrist to peel off his glove. She placed it on her lap, and then just held onto his hand in her own, before looking back up at the sky. She appreciated his answer, and found herself nodding lightly in reply as she looked up. It was very thoughtful. Humbling, even. "I'm torn between being awed and horrified." Knot answered. "Awed, to look up and know there's something bigger out there than just this Earth. Horrified, to know that each star and planet represents a life, and everything that goes with that life, both good and bad."

"Hah." He actually thought she was going to try to bend him over.
Beringia was an adventurous man....
Just not that adventurous.
He scooted closer to her as it got a bit chillier.
"Don't be scared." He turned to kiss her on the lips. "After all, knight is here to protect little princess eh?"

It was her turn to "Hah." Against his lips. "If I see any little princesses around I'll be sure to send them your way, because I'm a Red Riding Queen of the Hood, thank you." Knot was content to fall into silence with the man as she watched the sky though. Eventually she got hungry, and got into the food he had prepared for this outing. After all, it'd be a great disservice to both the Knight and his sister to not have the treats they prepared. It was delicious, and she made sure to tell him so. At some point too, after eating, Knot just ended up sliding herself onto his lap, and wrapping her arms loosely around his neck. Between watching the meteor shower more, and cuddling with the man, an idea came to her as well. Something she got excited about, and it came through in her tone as she turned her head to him. "Hey, Brr." She murmured. "Tomorrow evening, at eight, could you meet me at the fountain again? All I need is five minutes of your time---I'll have a belated birthday gift for you."
