The fair had been fun, with so many things going on and so much food, but December thought going home would be better - less busy. It was a good idea, it was less intimidating for Boon-Nam who still didn't understand English well enough to be comfortable in large groups for long. The trip to where he lived wasn't a long one, public transportation was a good thing here, the apartment building was tall, though it wasn't as tall as others in the city.
The elevator up was a short trip, since the apartment wasn't that high up, and the door was right down the hall on the right side of the hallway. As he pulled out the key he let his arm about about the others shoulder, smiling down at December as he unlocked the door and opened it. "My families home." The very first thing to note was a set of cubbies on the left side against the wall. Shoes were placed inside the cubbies, one pair per section. There were none to be seen on the floor. What was on the floor were house slippers. A few pairs of unused slippers were in one cubby and that was something Boon-Nam grabbed, as he slipped his sneakers into a cubby. Offering the slippers to December as he went about slipping his feet into the pair he owned.
The living room was tiles, white tiles, with a large shag carpet under the coffee table that was in the center of the living room.Situated behind it there was a large white leather couch while on either end of the coffee table were simple white leather arm chairs. Against the right wall was the tv with a small potted tree on either side of the tv to serve as some sort of decoration to the room. Sharing the same room, but further into the room, was the glass dinning room table with chairs. A light hung over the table, so it would provide light when needed, it wasn't the most decorated and warm looking of rooms but it worked. "Not too much on decorating." Shrugging as he spoke, his accent heavy but the words were sort of there.

December was far too happy to be away from the fair and here with Boon heading towards his home. As much as he loved a crowd, he had desired to be alone and in a place of safety for a long while now. Honestly, he had a hard time feeling safe no matter where he went. In the human world, in the Negaverse, it all felt like he was on edge constantly, to the point where he found himself stressing more and more and wanting nothing more to rest.
Now, here was his chance! He was here, with Boon, being led into a home that immediately felt far more welcoming than anywhere else he had been in quite some time.
There was no hesitation in slipping off his shoes and putting on the offered slippers, happily wiggling his toes inside them.
"I love your home. It's cozy, and feels... Safe. I like it here. Will we see your family? What do you wanna do?"

"I am glad you like...and maybe...I do not know when they will be home." They weren't home right now at least, he wasn't sure when they would be either. Schedules could be off, if either his aunt or uncle stayed late at work which did happen fairly often. They were hard workers and stayed as needed, in order to get things done. So there really was no telling with a thing like that. It did mean he had time though to spend with his friend.
"Drinks?" He offered as he shuffled his slippered way towards the kitchen, going right for the fridge. The kitchen was rather clean and neat with all the usual things along with a few things the other might not be familiar with. With a small island in the middle and a few chairs situated around it it was more used for cooking and sitting down to wait for things to finish, rather than actually eating at the island counter top.
"Have a lot of drinks." And there were, as he proved by opening the fridge. Some were normal things while others were clearly not so normal, at least not for December. The shopping was both familiar to Boon-Nam and not...which was good. It was a mix of here and back home. "Can watch tv in my room or movie?" It was really the only thing he could think of for them to do, there wasn't a lot to do inside.

"It's okay if I don't meet them. It'd just be nice to see your family. With how nice you are, I'm sure they are good people too!" While he personally knew you really shouldn't judge a person's family before you meet them, December liked to think that not everyone was like his own. Very complicated and messed up for the most part.
December followed right on Boon's heels, looking around and taking in the lingering smells of cooking with spices he couldn't quite recognize.
"Mmmm, sure! Anything sweet would be nice. And sure, a movie sounds good, but I warn you, being at that fair wore me out, so I might nap. Don't worry though, I wouldn't dream of taking your bed, the floor is just fine!"

"They are - very good." He loved his family, he really did, he just kept certain things from them because he didn't know how they'd react. It wasn't because he thought they'd love him less...but that they might not accept certain things. His friends back home hadn't accepted it...but he was sure, well maybe sure, that they still cared for him. In truth he didn't want to know. He hadn't let anyone know he was leaving much less to where or for how long he'd be gone. He'd severed ties with his former friends in moving like he had.
"My bed is fine. Drinks first then my room and we watch tv." And the other could, from the sound of it, sleep. He didn't mind that at all. The idea was a nice one...something friends did. He'd often had his friends over to spend the night in the past and sharing a bed had never been an issue - till it was.
This was a new place though and people didn't need to know about that, especially the only friend he had. "Pick adrink." He said motioning inside the fridge to the other.

At Boon's invitation, December reached right in and grabbed a bottle of what looked like pear juice. Maybe not a pear, because it looked like it was in the shape of an apple, but had a pear coloration about it.
It didn't matter too much, because the moment he took it, and had a sip, it was a complete joy to his tongue.
"Ooh, yes, I'm happy with this one. Now where's your room? Should I leave my coat out here? If we get hungry later, maybe we can maybe cook what's in your house or something. I'm a decently good cook, you know~"

"My room is best. Keeping it out here is messy to my aunt." His aunt wouldn't like clothing hanging about the living room, or anywhere else. Coats were kept in peoples closets. So he'd let December hang his coat in his closet...or maybe just toss it onto the computer chair in his room.
With a drink of his own in hand he led the way down the hall to his own room. "Cooking we can do. There is a lot in the fridge we can use. I can help in cooking - I am good too." He'd learned, he had to, he cooked a fair amount of the time for himself. There was always a take out option but he liked the possible idea of cooking together.
Reaching his room he turned the door knob and stepping inside once the door was open. The bed was nice, large, with a nice though thin looking comforter. The sheets were a solid pale color, like most of his room. There were some pops of color here and there, as well as decorations, but a lot of it was simple though comfortable looking. His own coat went into his closet while he slid his slippers off and climbed onto his bed. "Put your coat over on chair...or in closet too."

"Then whatever we decide to eat is going to be delicious! Oooh, I can't wait! I mean, I can, since I'm not hungry yet, but it's still exciting, you know?" As instructed, December simply placed his coat on the back of the computer chair, politely set down his drink, then immediately jumped onto the bed beside Boon, pulling a pillow to his chest to snuggle against. Of course he noticed it smelled just like Boon-nam. Why wouldn't it? It was his room after all.
"It's so nice!" Again he exclaimed, burying his face into that pillow he had and enjoying the plushness. It was completely different than the barracks. While yes, it was a place he could sleep, and all the necessities there were needed, this place just felt like home.
Maybe not his home, but a home nonetheless!
"Sooo what do you want to watch? Anything you've been waiting to see?"

"Most of tv shows are in Thai....can put on subtitles if you want." It was one from his computer, but he had his computer hooked into his tv screen so he could play it on the bigger tv screen. "A drama maybe. Have seen some of it before but not all." It wasn't that it was terribly long, it wasn't, but he sort of got side tracked at the time he'd first started to watch it and he hadn't come back to it. Such things happened, mostly due to life.
"Would you want to be watching a drama?" Already he was moving from his bed, headed for his computer. Fingers grasping the tv remote to turn his tv on while his other hand went to moving the mouse, and typing one handed, as he pulled up the site for the drama. "Can start from the beginning for you. It's good." It was one of those school type drama, all the characters were students, so it gave some ideas what schools in Thailand were like...and the uniforms.Kapoodles The drama: https://mydramalist.com/17015-senior-secret-love-puppy-honey

"I think subtitles are important, yeah. Otherwise, I won't be able to understand. I am trying to learn a little bit more for you." Dessy peeked over Boon's shoulder, trying to see what he was looking at. Whatever it was, it seemed plenty cute enough!
"Sure! Let's watch it. It's based in a school, right? I never went to school... I wonder what it's like... Is this how it was like for you too? Hehe, with all the silliness and the drama?" there was only a slight whine when Boon left his side. Dessy wanted that contact still, to lean against the other and enjoy his company.

"Little bit...not a lot. Less drama, at least for me. Small group - close friends." They had been at least...till he'd slipped and said something he shouldn't have. He knew he shouldn't have, it was why he'd kept the secret.
"School was good - for me. Different from here I am sure. But also the same...same kinds of people." The same personalities and the same dramas and groups. But there were some social things which were different, and that was where the differences were. When he came back to his bed, joining the other, the drama was starting on the tv.
"Scenes in the city are what the city looks like...and school looks like normal school - like some." It was a university rather than a high school...so it wasn't lower education..and thus not the same sort of drama you'd get in a high school. It was a bit of an idea about how he'd lived and where.
"Maybe you'll like it."Kapoodles Sorry I've been so slow. Works been killing me slowly.

"Ah... I hope you had a good time there atleast... Having good people around makes you happier, I think." December cozied up to Boon a little more, getting comfortable as the theme song of the show began to play.
It was dramatic already, he could tell, but it seemed happy enough, and that's exactly what he needed in his life! More happiness.
"You think so? I wonder if our university, here, might be like this too.. I dunno, I don't think I can go to school again, all those papers got burned up in the fire... I'm not too worried about it though! I was never all that smart anyway!"

By the end of the night, when December had gone home, Boon-nam was looking to put on one of his favorite dramas and grab some take out thai food to eat while watching tv. It wasn't that he didn't like December, he was ok, but it felt like he wasn't himself...like he censored somethings and he also had issues with language when talking to the other. Even though he was working on his English it didn't feel like it was enough. He'd work on it more...but still.
He had plenty of things to wonder about when it came to December though. He was an ok friend, he enjoyed spending some time with him, but it was just...it took work and it seemed language was certainly an issue.
(ending here...since it's been awhile).
