Now that he'd been gainfully employed for over a year (look at him, being all grown up), Alrik had managed to form a small, somewhat reliable budget. Thanks to his older sister's careful organizing, he dutifully put aside a little bit of money from each check into savings, a little more into a rainy day fund and then distributed the rest accordingly through bills and playtime.
While his rainy day fund never lasted for very long, he'd been disciplined enough to hold on to it from the end of summer until the end of November, knowing a particular day was approaching that would require the majority of his extra spending money.
Which was why, bills folded carefully into his wallet, he'd arrived at the door of Cassadega Bright's abode, knocking before stepping back and brushing out the wrinkles of his semi-nice looking t-shirt.
His sister wasn't very helpful in her suggestions, rolling her eyes as she told Alrik to save his money.
His mother told him to take his girlfriend to a nice dinner out.
His father told him to be "responsible", earning him an embarrassed look.
After much deliberation, he'd made his decision:
He was taking her to a theme park.

Cassadega Bright was turning twenty years old.
It was a stupid age, creeping ever closer to the promised twenty-one but offering no benefits to getting older that mattered. Still, she'd been promised a date by her gamer boy and she was looking forward to it. This year he had been employed, which meant that he was going to have a gift of some kind that didn't involve sex.
Or he better have, if he wanted to have a chance at getting laid anyway.
Still, she set aside time for her Ali Bear and was rifling through her closet, trying to decide what to wear. In the end she decided on boots, knee-highs, a long sweater-dress and a denim jacket to go over it. Her hair was loose, falling across her shoulder and she was fluffing it when she heard someone knocking on her door.
It didn't take her long to hop down the stairs and tug the door open. "Hey babe."

"Hey there, cutie."
It never failed to take his breath away, seeing the beautiful Cassadega Bright appear from behind a door. Her confident smile, her posture, her outfit -- there was nothing about her that didn't manage to leave him feeling like someone stole the air straight out from his lungs.
His recovery time was getting better and better, however, and Alrik stepped forward with fluid ease to wrap his arms around her and bend down for a proper birthday kiss. "How's my birthday girl doing so far, today?"
The envelope he yoinked out of his back pocket was handed over, the other arm sliding its way around her waist in an attempt to be both affectionate and maybe a little bit possessive. Inside the birthday card was both a scribbled message from him but also the tickets for the park, bought beforehand with the presumption that she wouldn't mind such a present.
"Happy Birthday, Cassie."

Cass didn't know how Alrik made messy bedhead so attractive, but her grin widened when she gave her boyfriend a once over, pushing onto the balls of her feet for the kiss. He wasn't as tall as some of the others, but he was still tall enough and that meant she had to stretch and it created a delicious feeling of warmth in her belly whenever they kissed.
"Better," she replied, ignoring the cheesiness that didn't sound so cheesy when it came from her in a confident purr, "now that you're here." Fingers pressed against the nape of his neck, then slid into the short hairs above when she dragged him down for another kiss, ignoring the gift pressing against her until she felt like she'd gotten enough kisses for the moment.
Leaning into him, she fished out the birthday card and raised a brow at the tickets. She seemed contemplative before she kissed the underside of his jaw, leaving a green lip stain on his skin.
"Amusement park hm?" She didn't sound uninterested, but she didn't seemed particularly thrilled. "You better like roller coasters, they're my favorite."

He was rewarded for his greeting with even more kisses, Alrik not one to complain about the delay in her opening her envelope. If anything, he was very happy to comply with her make-out request, kissing the shorter girl until his lips were swollen and practically begging for more attention.
When she did open the envelope, however, he couldn't help but stare at her expression, trying to gauge her reaction. It... wasn't exactly the most excited one but he felt himself finally exhale when she rose up on her toes for a second time to kiss his jawline.
Her words failed to have the enthusiasm he was hoping for but she didn't sound particularly pissed either. Maybe he had misjudged with his idea... but there was no going back now, not when those puppies cost him a solid hundred and fifty bucks just to get through the door.
"Hell yeah, I love a good roller coaster. Even more so when I've got a cute girl with green hair squeezing up against me the whole ride through."
Eyebrows waggled playfully as his free hand gestured out towards the street, where he planned on splurging just a little bit more by calling for a ride for the both of them.
"Shall we, my lady? I'm feeling particularly lucky -- you better be ready to tote around some giant stuffed animals today."

Cass kept an almost unimpressed expression on just because she wanted to see her cute, handsome, Ali Bear squirm under the weight of what if she doesn't like it that was clearly passing through his head. Eventually, after she had made him suffer enough a please, cat-like grin spread across her lips complete with her tongue peaking out to wet them when she looked up at him from beneath green lashes.
"We're not stopping until we ride all of my favorite rides," she told him, emphasizing the last word with a devilish tone, her gaze dipping low for half a second before her gaze came back up to meet his.
Soon enough she was stepping towards him, giving him one last long, deep kiss before she stepped out of her house, automatically sticking her hand behind him so that they could hold hands.
"Well now that you mentioned it, you better win me a prize~"

Her emphasis on particular words had him giving her a look, uncertain as to whether or not she was being subtle about a second meaning to her comment. Either way, it had him getting a little warm under the collar, Alrik's free hand moving up to tug at the t-shirt's neckline a bit. Didn't do him any good, getting himself worked up before they even hit the amusement park.
His hand then dipped down to fetch his phone, clicking the Lyft app as he called a ride to her apartment. His other one threaded with hers, squeezing tightly as he couldn't help but tease back.
"What, I'm not a good enough prize?"
She received at least one -- okay, maybe more like four -- more kisses before their ride arrived, Alrik more than ready to grant his birthday princess every wish she desired.
