Real life had its way of keeping Ohana busy, but Ohana was Ohana and that was all that mattered. If any of the Ohana members called, Khaleel would be the first to respond.

It was even more important when Fiona called a family meeting. He told Lilith that he would come over afterwards to hang out, but for now, it was family dinner!

IT WAS DINNER TIME.

"FIONAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA." The blonde didn't bust in but his voice was loud and sing songy.

"I HAVE BROUGHT PIE, because it is not thanksgiving but we are having family dinner so why not have pie." In both hands were four different kinds of pies.

[Calling a family meeting for introductions.]

Introductions? Someone new, maybe?

Not one to miss an invitation from Mom Pern Fiona, Zach bundled himself in a rain jacket and scooped up a tray of brownies on his way over to the redhead's abode. Melody was working late at the hotspring and was asked by her mother to have dinner at their place, so things worked out splendidly. Itsuki was tucked into the raincoat (as this was a Starcatcher Family Function, after all) and off they went to find parking.

He'd heard Khaleel before the blonde was seen by the pair walking up the sidewalk. Something about dinner and pie, and that's really all Zach needed to know.

Someone else was beside Khaleel, however - someone he didn't recognize. Maybe this was who the introductions were for?

Almost skipping up the steps, Zach had one hand under what looked to be his belly, and a canvas bag with a tray of brownies in the other. "Khaleel, dude, don't advertise the pies to the whole neighborhood!" Turning the newcomer, Zach gave her a quick bow of his head in lieu of a handshake. "Hope you didn't get deafened. I'm Zach, and uh--"

Out from the partially-zipped neckline of his jacket popped a little furry head of a cat. If Fiona was having them meet this young lady, she had to have been involved in the war in Destiny City in some capacity. "Watashi wa Itsuki desu~ It's nice to meet you! Oi, Taiyo-kun, what kind of pie did you bring? We brought chocolate chunk brownies! I wanted to bring sushi but it's very hard to make sushi rolls when you're small like me. We hope you like the food, Miss--umm---"

Blocking Itsuki from the view of the neighbors, Zach tried to hush him by pushing his face down below the zipper of the coat. "Give her a little space, okay? Sorry about that. He gets excited easily."

"Taiyo-kun and I are BESTO TOMODACHI!" came a muffled reply from the coat.

A small warmth filled Sophie when she first spotted the text flash across her cell phone. It was rare for her to get a message from anyone that didn't involve tutoring or a reminder from her concerned parents --- this one came from an actual friend, one that had wanted Sophie to join her group of friends and be a teammate of their rag-tag little crew.

Sophie had never been a part of a group before in any sense, so it was both a little intimidating and exciting at the same time.

Approaching the home, she hurriedly clutched the front of her coat with one hand as the other squeezed tightly around the package of presorted cookies she'd picked up at the grocery store shortly before making her way towards Fiona's rather large looking home.

Her mother had always taught her to never arrive empty-handed to any sort of gathering. Not that... Sophie had really ever been invited to this sort of gathering, but she'd followed her mother to several of hers and while her mother tended to bring wine to the celebrations, Sophie wasn't one hundred percent sure that everyone in the party was of age... so cookies were a good alternative, right?

She was quickly second-guessing her decision as she made it up towards the gathered group at the front door. Biting her bottom lip, she mustered up what inner courage she could manage to squeak out a somewhat friendly, somewhat hesitant, "H-Hey guys!"

Pat greeted Sophie just as Fiona opened the door and welcomed everyone in. He particularly liked his greeting and stole a second shorter kiss before she informed everyone that dinner was almost ready. "Don't suppose we could sneak off for a little bit could we," he murmured in his girlfriend's ear as she directed the small group around. He was mostly joking since he knew there was no way Fi would be game for ditching her ducklings, but it never hurt asking.

The place smelled great, the savory smell of the food definitely made him hungry which reminded him, "Sadly I didn't bring anything but I can help with the cooking if you still need any help." Next time he would have to try to make sure he did a detour to snag something, food or wine or flowers. Something.

Jack grinned back at of the beam of sunlight personified that was Khaleel as approaching footsteps behind her announced the arrival of more guests. A lot more guests. Half turning to look down the front path Jack's eyes widened as not one, but three other people came walking up to the porch.

Correction: three people and one cat.

"H-hi," she greeted both the dark haired young man and the bubbly guardian back with a shy smile, fingers wiggling is a small wave. "I'm Jack, it's nice to meet you." Bright eyes flicked up to the man holding the cat, then down the steps towards the purple haired girl that'd arrived last. "A-all of you."

In that moment she was incredibly grateful to have already met Khaleel and Pat. That she had more than just Fiona to lean on for support through dinner. Not that she wasn't excited to meet the others, but as she stood there in the midst of the small crowd she already felt just a little overwhelmed to be there.

It was a relief when they were ushered inside, and Jack followed on Khaleel's heels. As Fiona greeted them she gave a nervous little grin to the redhead. "I brought some cheesy potatoes, I hope that's okay?"

The appearance of a talking cat had Pat raise a brow and glance over at Fi. It was his first time being this close to one of the guardian cats, he had seen them before and knew about them but wasn't really acquainted with the furry creatures. "I'm guessing more your's then mine?" He asked her quietly as he eyed the gathering. He might be wrong but they all seemed so young compared to his ancient age of 29 and to him that meant typically senshi. For some reason knights tended to be on the older scale of things, as far as he knew at least. Logically he knew there were likely exceptions, the woman standing at his side was one of them as was his cousins, but so far that seemed to be more the rule of thumb.

What would it be like to be a senshi with magic right of the bat? He wondered silently even as he spoke to the feline, "Just as long as you don't go all Spaceballs on us. Pretty sure Mel Brooks wasn't thinking of a cat when he wrote that scene." Although watching the cat try to do the whole dancing frog thing from classic cartoons the way it was done in the parody movie would be hilarious.

The bro clap was returned with a power unlike any other.....Khaleel was supercharged. He started to move to food cause Khaleel was a simple creature. Out of politeness, he took a seat and then tapped the one next to him for Jack.

"Sit sit!" He chose the middle specifically so he could have Jack and Zack on his sides and smiled happily. Friends and food and Family!

Pat and Sophie were winked at, before the blonde shovelled in and ate food.

"But we are all curious!!!" Khaleel turned his head at the woman he had saved and with a mouthful of her cheesy potatoes.

"Did become hero of the night?"
