Trembling with emotion, Haumea clutched the tattered journal he'd found close to his chest. He'd managed to keep this precious bit of knowledge safe since retrieving it from the Tower ruins. And now... and now. He knew deep within that he held the key to his quest in shaking hands. But would Metallia move her chosen officers to listen to him? He couldn't see how or why she wouldn't, but how well did one really know what would move a god?

Ah, if only Ate were here! She had been the fiery passion and he the fervent devotion. With her gone, it fell to him to be both. Metallia grant he was up to the task.

But in the meantime... Haumea went utterly still for a moment, eyes closed as he took a deep breath and knocked at an office door. He wasn't terribly familiar with his General Kings or Queen. But from the little he'd seen and heard, it had felt right to come to Axinite. Once he was certain of his control over himself, the corrupted Super Senshi chuckled a little over his audacity in seeking out a General King to demand help. After all of these years, who would have ever thought it of him?

When he opened his eyes, his tattooed face had assumed an enviable serenity and his tangerine eyes blazed with a fanatical passion. He would convince Axinite of the importance of his discovery. He had to.

Axinite's door was usually open; the fact that it wasn't today either meant he was very busy or absent--however, the overwhelming energy signature from behind the door indicated he was very much present. He did not call to open the door. Rather, a few seconds passed, and he opened it himself.

He wore a welcoming smile, but there was a tired expression on his face. Papers were, albeit neatly stacked, scattered all around, as if he were cleaning or involved in a very large project.

"Haumea," he greeted. He did not speak with every agent regularly, but he made a habit to know their files well enough that he could function as if he did. "What a pleasant surprise. A sight for sore eyes." He reached to rub at them and took a step back, gesturing for the male to join him in his office.

Axinite had the unique ability to be both overwhelming and otherworldly with his power while simultaneously seeming so human. "Let me get you a drink. Tea?" he suggested, closing the door behind the corrupted senshi when he'd entered. He moved to his desk promptly and moved papers aside to make more room. "Can I interest you in something to snack on?" He gestured to the platter of cookies atop the small refrigerator he kept a selection of beverages in.

He must have been aware that Haumea did not come here for tea time and cookies, so he smiled politely while he waited for an answer. Half turned to Haumea and half read to fetch whatever drink, whatever snack, the man could desire, he added, "You must tell me to what I owe the pleasure of your company."

Whatever Haumea might have expected to see in the office, a mini-fridge and cookies didn't even come close tot he top hundred. Feeling caught slightly off-footed, the tall corrupt nevertheless gave himself a tiny shake to get his thoughts back in order. Then, with a slight smile at the General King, he carefully laid the old journal upon the desk between them.

"You are most kind, sir," he began in respectful tones. "This comes from a part of the Rift that still contains traces of the old Earth Kingdom. It was... hrmm... rediscovered many months ago by Ascendant General Alkaid. She, in turn, shared it's location with myself, Ate and a cat named Lyssa. I recently went back in the company of General Uvarovite to see if I could perhaps find anything that would be useful to our cause."

Best probably to leave the dreams of that glorious future out of this narrative, Haumea thought. He wasn't entirely sure how much Axinite already knew and why bog him down with unneeded details?

"Sir, what Alkaid found, what I went back to search through, was a tower of great antiquity. Within this Tower is ancient machinery that, if my deductions are correct, would allow senshi like myself access to our ancient homeworlds. Not," he held up a hand to ward off any possible thoughts of treason, "to to escape to, mind. Rather, to make us the most useful of tools to Metallia. Since meeting Alkaid, I often had wondered if there might ever be a way to join her in her thus far unique state. Indeed, to learn of a way for other senshi to join her is what took her into the Rift to explore originally."

Now, Haumea became more animated, his eyes and voice practically burning with zealotry for his goddess.

"General-King Axinite, the problem with creating more Ascended senshi has always been getting the senshi close enough to their homeworlds that a link could be forged between it and Metallia. This Tower holds the key to that. And," he continued, slamming a forefinger down to stab at the journal, "this wonderful little record from the time of the Silver Millenium tells how to repair the Tower. It's Keeper hid the necessary pieces that allow it to operate. But he left a map of sorts in here. We can find those pieces and I can work to repair the Tower."

Pausing to breathe, Haumea shivered at the audacity of what he was about to do.

"General-King. Grant me leave to assemble enough officers for an expedition back to the Tower. Give me the manpower to track down the missing pieces of the Tower's machinery. Give me this opportunity to win Metallia's favor."

Axinite eyed the old journal with immediate interest; regardless of how fatigued he might have appeared, the curious thing seemed to inspire a second wind in him.

"Oh?" he prompted, with barely tempered awe. He reached his fingers to glide over the surface of the journal with reverence, and he could not avoid the temptation to pick it up and flip through it.

"That is most interesting." His eyes were scanning the pages; he listed to Haumea with only partial attention, captivated by the text. He didn't miss anything, and his eyes darted from the pages to the man's face. "That is a bold request."

He let the words linger for a second, but they were not spoken with malice; rather, pride. "Granted. But I'd like some time with this journal. You will allow me to investigate it as well? I'd like copies for my records. But I would be a fool to deny your request. I admire your passion. You will have what you need."
