Quote: It’s all over the news that a dangerous convict has escaped from the state prison. Television and radios alike warm the residents to stay indoors until authorities can locate and apprehend the criminal roaming the local neighborhoods. It just so happens to fall on a terrible evening to be stuck anywhere - the weather has taken a turn for the worse and thanks to a wayward falling branch, the power has gone out. Scratching and creaking around your doors and windows keeps you on high alert…could the nefarious individual be trying to get inside your residence?

Ciaran didn't know what to expect when Austin invited her over to his place for some sort of movies and hanging out. Well she knew what she expected, and she got MORE then she expected but also like....
She was more amused that the man, living in his own space but still with his parents was so comfortably asleep after wrecking her just before. Movie, she scoffed, blue hair messily and hastily tied back up before he mussed it all up. The long form was hidden under bed but the TV still glowed with the movie.
"Austin...." She poked at him, poking gently since she wasn't sure how he woke up. "Hey, It's almost midnight friend." She grinned, "I can't be staying over tonight, I have a stream to prepare for in the morning." Besides, she wasn't sure if they were the type of friends with...benefits that included staying over.
"Weather is getting bad though..." She murmured as she heard thunder and lightning. She was pretty sure earlier in the day Nora had been telling her about some escaped convict in the area but it was destiny city and she was a senshi, what could some creep from jail do? Thunder boom and she jumped. "Damn it, That was loud. Austin!" She pushed him now as lightning flashed and the tv shut off with a click, the basement flooded with complete darkness.
"Oh my god, really."

Luckily for Ciaran, Austin's room was more clean than it usually was when she came over.
It was all thanks to his once-neighbor, who'd come over after being spooked while house sitting for her parents. Sophie had cleaned to distract before they killed time during a black out watching a movie. Except in their case, watching a movie actually meant watching a movie.
Still, it was difficult to rouse him once he'd drifted off, sheets pooled around his waist as his bedmate poked and prodded him to no avail.
It wasn't until there was some rolling thunder and her shrieking his name that he opened his eyes, letting out a string of incoherent words. Long arms wrapped around Ciaran's waist and he tugged her back towards him.
"If s'weather's bad, just stay until it's not."

Easy for the lumbering giant to say. Her heart was already beating from the sudden flux of darkness, which for the blue haired girl was something very foreign. Even in her room, her computers and game systems had the dull hum and glow of life.
Here, in the basement where she could hear pounding rain, thunder and the flashes of lightning PLUS being practically wrapped in arms made her all the more nervous. "What if that's all night....?" She rolled her eyes, poking at his chest because well....that's where her face was.
Clearly planted in darkened nicely toned...uh...man....boobs. Well not boobs, like muscles. She scrunched her face up at him, and tried to settle back in when thunder boomed again.
It was quickly followed by rattling of the one small window where she KNEW was big enough for a person but also like, WHO WOULD COME HERE IN THIS WEATHER AND DEAD OF NIGHT.
"Did you hear that?" She reached over for her phone, turning on the flashlight first in Austin's face, and then aiming it at the window like it would dispel who or whatever was there. "Do you think someone is trying to get....to get in...." She made a small squeak noise. Had the convict that escaped chose this basement for a safe place?
No way.
right?

The lumbering sleepy giant had thought that his bedmate was settling down, but his grip, however loose, around her only seemed to make her more uncomfortable.
His reply was sleepy, almost impossible to understand. "S'better than..stanin.." Whatever he was attempting to say was muffled by the pillow that he snuggled back into.
It was the flashlight in his face that had him jerking away, quickly trying to shove the bright light away when he sat up. "The ******** C?" He snapped, vision spotty as another crackle of thunder broke the other wise quiet of his basement.
Something slapped against the window, rattled the door that didn't open.
"You're imagining things, it's just the storm."

Better then what....
She was pushed away and ended up rolling out of the bed, hitting the ground with her butt and scrambling up. "Listen, Nora said there was some convict out on the loose around the area and...." She looked at her phone.
"We don't got cell service, probably cause of the storm and no power and I'm not used to that." She breathed out slowly, "Sorry. But I really think somethings out there....."
The window stopped rattling and she moved towards the bed again, resting a knee on it.
Soon enough, instead of the window, it was the door, clearly LOCKED and locked tight. Knob turning and the door shaking.
"Oh my god." She turned off her phone but only after she moved closer to Austin. "I...I uh...." She could go super saiyan here, but Austin didn't know about her powered side and she didn't think he'd appericate an alien in his bed.

Austin looked irritable, hair more of bedheady than normal and he was practically scowling at her any time her flashlight hit his eyes. "Cut that out," Austin snapped, shielding his eyes with one of his large hands.
"You're worrying too much," he continued to grumble, clearly unconcerned about whatever things Ciaran was worried about. Austin was a big guy, even if he was more wiry than buff, and unless the dude had a firearm, they were in no more danger than him getting pulled over by a cop for whatever reason.
Still, he sat up proper with his naked back resting against the headboard and his arm loosely wrapped around her waist. "It's probably just the wind rattling, dad hasn't trimmed the trees in a bit so there's more branches and s**t."

The comfort the man gave her was just enough for her not to be frantic, and she did want to stop shining the light in his face. The phone was placed down and away for now, but well within reach if anything should happen.
"Of course I worry." She snorted, "What if you got hurt? What if I got hurt? what if its some psycho out there?" She breathed in.
"Sorry, I know." She ran a hand through her hair, mussing the blue more and then letting it fall to his shoulder. "Nora got me all worked up sort of. Put the idea in my head that someone out there escaped and could be a threat in this area."
She shifted so she could sit in his lap but still watch the door and window. If he didn't want to play lookout, the girl certainly would. "But if it gets sticky dangerous anyways....I have a way to take care of it."

"Wouldn't be the first time," Austin replied nonchalantly. "Wouldn't be the last time." Except if he ended up dead, which he highly doubted would happen. "You're with me, we're inside, we're fine."
Being inside didn't really change a whole lot, because if someone was determined enough, they'd get in and if they wanted to hurt people, people would get hurt but he was nonplussed about it all.
"Why stress about s**t you can't control?" Fingers began rubbing her sides, Austin more inclined to distract her physically than with pretty words he didn't mean.
"Want me to distract you babe?"

"That's not the attitude to have." She punched his arm lightly, a small nervous smile replacing the worried expression. "You can always avoid enemy encounters with the right skills and items!"
Hers just happened to be senshihood and......her phone. Bet your a** she'd be dialing 911 while shifting to Nereid if a killer came here.
She scrunched her nose though at his comment and found it to be very Austin like. To be so nonchalant about it. It was very Austin too, to start playing with her body and she squirmed from the fingers, hands resting on his shoulders.
"you think if we're loud enough, they'll go away?" As if sex ever stopped a killer in the scary movies.

"Look Cee," Austin countered, "we're all gonna die eventually. Why spend too much time wondering what might kill us?" It was a waste of time as far as he was concerned. He'd rather live in the moment instead of fretting about the consequences of things.
He pushed her back, pressing her against the mattress and shifting so he could more comfortably hover over her, his face inches from hers. His voice was husky, low and rumbling. "Why don't we find out?" Austin teased, his smile barely visible before he swallowed any of her responses with a kiss.
Even if there was a convict on the loose, Austin wasn't worried and would rather focus his attention elsewhere.
