Collecting energy and meeting a quota had become something of a chore for the Lieutenant. He still tried to do his best, of course, and tried not to be too cruel to his targets. Usually per target it took twenty minutes, maybe less, of following, trapping, draining, and then hiding the evidence so the pesky civilian cops didn't get involved. But that was starting to get boring, and he heaved a sigh from the rooftop of a low-rise apartment building as he predicted how his evening would go. He was eyeing a sketchy young man standing in the alley down below, smoking what smelled like a cigarette and just standing around. Probably waiting.
Cam curled his lip.
"Little s**t," he muttered. He had to fight the urge to hock a loogie and drop it onto the guy's head to get the chase started. But no, he waited. He had to think for a bit on how to make his night a little more interesting, a little more fun. If he was getting bored now then he doubted he would ever get to move up in the ranks. A man had to enjoy his work to really excel, after all, so there he was. Watching, waiting, thinking.

In this particular instance waiting meant missing your opportunity. The lieutenant would feel a flicker of chaos coming from one of the surrounding roof tops, there one second and gone the next. Only for it to reappear in the form of a blonde haired captain materializing out of nowhere behind the man standing in the alley. He didn't make a sound, didn't draw attention to himself, just stood there with his hand out, fingertips less than an inch away from his back, and as the seconds ticked by a little orb formed in that out stretched hand. And as it happened, the captain tipped his head up, eyes flicking along the rooftop he knew the lieutenant was hiding on. I feel you there.When all was said and done Nissonite had a pretty little energy orb between thumb and forefinger and the man with the cigarette was lifting a hand to his head as he swayed a little, side stepping to catch himself on the wall. As his turned to rest his back against cool breaks Nissonite was stepping back into the shadows and jumping up and out of sight. It put him on the same building the other agent was on.

There was little he could do as he watched another agent take his proverbial kill, so upon sensing the flicker of Chaos and seeing the scene unravel before him Carminite heaved a sigh and leaned against the railing. He wondered if his presence was known and if it was deliberate. The former he found out when the blonde agent looked up in his general direction, the latter...he'd probably have to ask about. Which, to his surprise, he would get a chance to do sooner rather than later since the agent soon joined him on the rooftop.
Cam stood at attention, noticing now that this was someone who outranked him and he ought to be better behaved.
"You make it a habit of poachin' from lower men on the totem pole?"
He could try to be better behaved, but despite the remark he smiling, clearly more amused than irritated by what the captain had done.
"Not that I mind. We all have the same goals in mind, anyway. I'm just curious."

He flashed the lieutinant an easy grin, shoulders rolling in a small shrug. "Didn't know you were there until I was already into it." And he wasn't going to waste the opportunity at hand. "But since I felt you lingering up here I figured I'd hop up, see how the night was going." Branch out. Meet more officers. As he drew nearer he offered a hand. "I'm Nissonite.". The other bane had already mentioned rank, so he didn't feel the need to reiterate it. He wasn't trying to pull rank.

Cam huffed, clearly amused and not too disappointed at yielding to the captain. "Carminite," he said as he took his hand for a solid handshake. "Good to meet you. As for my night?"
He curled his lip. "Not much to speak of. You spend enough nights just filling your energy quota...s**t's become a chore." Not to mention the sorts of people he focused on draining, those he considered the dregs of society, were hardly the kind of people he wanted to associate with in any capacity. "Was keepin' an eye out on that one," he jabbed a thumb in the direction of the alley, "tryin'a think of a way to have more fun on the job."

The lieutenant had a good, firm handshake, and Nissonite matched that pressure, grinning. "Nice to meet you." Which was sincere--while the captain wasn't the sort to make last connections easily, he was interested in meeting more of the Negaverse. "My night, so far, has been decently productive," he answered easily, tipping his head towards the unconscious man in the alley. "Thanks to our mutual friend down there." Hands coming to rest on the sleeves of his jacket tied around his waist, he looked back up at Carminite. "What sort of fun are you looking to have?" There were just so many options.

He couldn't help but grin at his chosen description of the unlucky man in the alley. "Nice. It's kinda satisfying, gettin' s**t done. I'm kinda just getting bored of it...so the sort of fun I'm lookin' for?"
He paused and gave it a little bit of thought. He wasn't a cruel person by any means but when he was bored his idea of fun might get a bit twisted. "I dunno, maybe making these guys squirm a little more? Maybe add a chase scene in, do a bad guy monologue right before I drain 'em. I dunno, but something other than just sneaking up on 'em and taking what I want."

Nissonite listened quietly, a bemused smile on his face, and at one point had even glanced down at the man in the alley again before back up to the lieutenant. "You could do that, though that would shine quite the negative light on the Negaverse, and with all the positive publicity the Infiltration Division is working towards it might be a little counter productive." Arms crossing loosely, he shifted his weight from one foot to the other, features thoughtful for a moment before the smile had returned. "You could turn that energy and those ideas on our order stained foes though. There's more energy to be claimed from them, anyways."

"Mm. Good point," he conceded, lips turning down into a lopsided sort of frown. "Damn." It dampened his mood just a bit, but he tried not to let the disappointment show. The idea that he was doomed to forever sneak up on each target for energy donation wasn't a pleasant one, and he definitely didn't look forward to it.
He sat on that thought for a bit, but when Nissonite offered an out his expression did brighten. "Well, s**t. There's an idea." He chuckled, amused at how obvious the solution was now that it was presented to him. "Would probably make for good fight training, too. Any chance you know where they like to hang out at this time of night?"

It was momentarily surprising to the captain that this Lieutenant hadn't known that already, but he reminded himself that there was a good chance that this man was new to all of this as well, maybe even newer even than himself, and without the benefit of general as hands on with their training as Labryrinath. "I would imagine so, assuming you didn't go rushing into fights against opponents stronger than yourself." And even then he might have been fine, but exercising caution was probably a wiser move. He quirked a brow at the question, head tilting as he looked out into the night, focus shifting away from the lieutenant and outward, searching, but he didn't feel anyone near by except for the man standing in front of him. "They're all over. I'm not really aware of any particular place they might frequent."

"Nah, not that stupid," he remarked at the idea of rushing into fights that were way out of his league. "If they call in reinforcements that might be another problem altogether, but I'm pretty cautious when I'm out on my own. And I do need the training, so."
What he really needed was actual exposure to Order aligned individuals, though, so he stood and waited patiently for the captain to answer his question. When he did it wasn't exactly what the lieutenant wanted to hear, but if they really were all over the place like he said then all he had to do was wander around a little more. He had some hours left before he had to turn in for the night so he had time.
"Well, thanks for trying. I might move on to a different spot, then. Try my luck at finding someone while I work on my quota. Wanna tag along or didya have plans of your own?"

"I've gotta get going, but if you get in trouble I'm only a call on the communicators away." He said it was an easy grin, hand coming up in a small wave as he started backing away towards the edge of the roof once more. "It was good to meet you, Carminite. I hope we cross paths again." He'd seemed like an alright guy, and a good soldier. Someone that'd be good to have at your back on a mission. Niss made a mental note of his name for future reference. _paocx Wrap this one up and maybe do another?

"You, too. Thanks for the offer and the company." He returned the grin with a little smile of his own, polite and practiced but a smile all the same. "Hopefully I'll see you around."
The captain seemed pretty alright, as far as he could tell from their short little interaction. He tucked the name away and turned his attention to the park in the distance once he was alone again. He narrowed his eyes and considered his options for the night. He was fairly rested, still had a quota, and now a captain who offered his help should he find himself in a less than favorable situation. To top it all off, he didn't have work tomorrow...
