(In this Chapter, First year students are to be passing their orientation. This process is being overseen by any teachers and headmaster.)
The verdant green of the Emerald forest stretches out infront of the students who have gathered on the cliffside. The air is still warm with the remnants of summer that will soon give way to autumn's cool. They gather on their launch pads, ready to be vaulted into the great green expanse, and to then find their ways to the temple ruins, partnering up as they go. Each pair is to retrieve a relic from the ruins, and return, to pass their initiation. The forest is home to many types of Grimm, and they are expected to deal with the foes they encounter themselves. There are School staff on Standby, should any student find themselves in a situation they are unable to handle, but they are largely expected to solve their problems themselves.

Astra would wait on the platform to go. She had music blasting on her scroll. She knew her goal was now within reach. She would finally get to see the world. She couldn't wait to get further towards her goal . The cheery music playing was getting her pumped while she was ready to be launched.
Ariana made her way along the path, her Guan Dao out and tapping along the ground much like a walking stick, or, in her particular case, white cane, which was secured to her hip. She knew she'd be facing Grimm, and, so, she'd equipped herself accordingly in her armor. She did not know all that this test would entail, but, the young Heiress was confident she would do well and that whoever she was paired with would be capable as well. Due to her blindness, she'd been told there'd be a special rule or two for her the others would not be granted. Though, she did not know precisely what that was.
The path began to rise dramatically and she suspected a hill, though, as she move further up, she could hear subtle echoing of wind and feel updraft mixing with the wind, which meant, to her, that she was approaching a cliff or something similar. She could also hear music from ahead, meaning someone else was there. As the path began to level out, her semblance confirmed her suspicion and she drew up beside the one playing music. While she could not see in the traditional sense, her semblance showed her images in grainy relief. No minute details, but, she could 'see' shapes with it. The profile she got was some sort of faunus girl.
"Um, hello? I am guessing this is where we're supposed to meet up then? I'm Ariana. Ariana Sterling."As she spoke, her eyes were closed, though, she offered her hand in the right direction. Ariana was somewhat famous, her Father was a rising Tycoon in Military and Industrial Tech and she'd found her own fame in Martial Arts Tournaments, reaching up to the top five of the Interkingdom bracket. She'd lost just before the Semi-finals, though, it was later learned that her opponent's Semblance had been used and it was one that gave him an unfair advantage. Either way, the Media adored her and publicized ehr like crazy. The blind girl that overcame the odds, or the tyrannical father who forced his disabled daughter to fight. Both were perpetually hot topics.

Sienna made her own way up the path, regretting her agreement to oversee today's initiation of the first years. She was cranky and hadn't eaten yet as she was still waiting for her stomach to settle. A stomach that was very prominent on her otherwise tiny figure. She was just barely under five feet tall and had a very petite build, aside from her slightly distended stomach. Though, it was still quite the burden on her. She held her back as she started the climb up the sharp incline and made her way to the peak to see too students there.”Late, late, late. I've no patience for people being late.”
She took a look at the two in front of her and cocked her brow at the one with her eyes closed.."Hell, the blind girl made it on time! Ugh...don't mind me girls. Word of advice. Do NOT agree to have children. Morning sickness is a real pain. And the extra weight is bad enough. Anyway, Ms Sterling, you will not be launched like the others. We got a small craft for you to lower you down. We still don't fully understand the extent of your Semblance so, we are not taking chances. Furthermore, you will be assigned a partner, unlike the others. Normal rules are you pair up with whoever you first make eye contact with and, in your case, that isn't exactly possible. In fact, your partner just so happens to be the only other person who bothered to show up on time. Though, Ms. Renoll, you will still be launched with the others and your first task will be to find Ms Sterling after landing."
Sienna streched ehr back, feeling a few pops and found a long to sit on. She was winded slightly and it showed. She was not dressed as one might expect for a teacher, with a pair of jeans and a loose camisole top. She also did not have her weapons."Okay, if someone takes more than ten minutes, they are getting detention, I swear. I am not sitting out hear all damn day."
Ash twisted the lid on the thermos one last time and clipped it to her bag as she followed her wife out of their room. When Sienna reached the top of the hill, Ash heard her grumbling about late students. Ash frowned and jogged to catch up. What she saw was a rather disappointing view. Only two of the new students had arrived punctually. "Here, for your stomach. It's ginger and honey," she muttered before she held out the thermos to Sienna as the smaller woman explained the exceptions to their usual initiation process. Once Sienna was finished explaining what the two students would be doing Ash turned to them, "We will be watching to ensure everyone remains safe during this excursion. If at any point you feel your lives are in danger, signal us using any type of dust and we will find you. We will be explaining this again for the rest of your classmates once they arrive. And speaking of which, do you have any idea what might be keeping them? I was under the impression everyone had received the same message at the orientation yesterday."
Ash adjusted the rifle on her back and crossed her arms. She had a feeling it would be a long day.

Astra was rocking out when she saw a hand reached towards her. The woman's eyes were closed, that was weird. She would look at the woman, taking out an earbud. In time to hear instructions from the teacher. Wait, she was already partnered up! Cool! That made things so much easier!
She would shake the hand of the girl that held it out. "I'm Astra Renoll. If anyone calls me anything different it's a lie!" Her voice was happy and uplifting. Her ears at full attention. "I don't understand, why is she being lifted down and I'm being launched? Shouldn't we go together?! How else can we get to know each other?" She would then look down, trying to see the girls socks. She would wrinkle her nose, not being able to get a good view of them in her battle outfit.
Arirana had noticed the teachers approaching, but, as she hadn't encountered them on the trail, she assumed they'd taken a different path. The smaller one started complaining and advising they not get pregnant and the other appeared to be looking out for the first, offering her a drink as they explained some unique rules. She shook hands with her partner she introduced herself and then questioned why she was getting launched. Honestly, Ariana felt bad that she was getting special treatment, but, the ability to only sense within a limited range would make a plummet incredibly dangerous so, she knew that it would be unlikely she'd be able to land safely herself.
"It's because I'm blind. My semblance helps offset that, but, it has a limited range that, from what I understand, is far far less than how far people can see. I'm sorry if it feels unfair. I'm more likely to just collide with something than I am to make a safe landing if I'm launched off a cliff. I assure you though, I'm not completely helpless."

Sienna took the thermos her wife handed her and let her take over as she drank. She knew it had some medicine in it, though, Ash only ever added a little in to help with Nasea. The young heiress answered the faunus girl's question as Sienna lowered the thermos. ”Yes, that and Ms Sterling's father is a large contributor to Beacon in terms of donations. It wouldn't look terribly good if we impaled his youngest child on a tree or splattered her all over the forest floor. And, a slight correction on what my wife said. We will be watching, and she will lend aid if it is absolutely needed. The school is forbidden from having me enter dangerous situations and my Wife forbids the same to me. So, I will simply keep an eye on everything from up here. Now...where in the hell are the rest of the students?”

Coal rushed to the Cliffside, panicking along the way saying "Crud, crud, crud, crud, crud! I can't believe I did that!? I mean I am usually more punctual then this, but this is ridiculous. I mean I was never late for anything, expectially class, oh man the principal gonna have a fit!" But then as he was finished speaking, he tripped and began to roll somehow up the hill to where everyone else was in a dizzy state. Of course in this state he figured, 'next time, watch where I am going.'.
He shook off his dizziness and looked to see two teachers so he sit himself up but stayed on his knees and apologized repeatedly saying "I'm Sorry! Sorry, so so Sorry! I am usually more punctual then this! I lost track of time and then tried to find the place but that's no excuse hope you forgive me-OUCH!!" Unfortunately that last one he hit the metal plate in front of him with his head and started to roll around on the ground back and forth saying, "Ow man, that hurt! Why is there a plate there? how is there a plate there? Why is it even hidden?!" When he said that last one, he continued to roll around for a few more seconds until he stood up exactly where he was at where it began, weirdly enough getting stared at, "Why is everyone looking at me like that?"

Ash crossed her arms and frowned when Astra complained about being separated. "That's quite enough," she stated, "We are already making a lot of exemptions for this and, as already stated, it is for the safety of Ms. Sterling. You will have plenty of time to get to know each other after you find one another in the forest. You will be launched with the rest of the students as you should be fully able to navigate by yourself in the trees, am I clear?"
The discussion was interrupted when a young man tumbled into the clearing. Immediately he started rambling off apologies before whacking his head on the corner of a launch pad. Ash shook her head and sighed. "Please calm yourself young man. There is no need for such antics. As for your query, that will be answered in due time. When the rest of your classmates deign to grace us with their presence. For now you should stand and introduce yourself if you have not already done so."
She turned to Sienna and whispered, "This certainly will be an... Interesting year."
She glanced upwards when she heard a rustle in the trees behind the students.

Kikyo nearly fell out of her hiding spot in the tree at the scene unfolding below her. She shoved her hand into her mouth to keep from bursting out in laughter. Her initial plan had been to wait until all of the first years had gathered for initiation but the majority of the new class was taking too long. She had already been in the tree for nearly thirty minutes. "It's now or never," she thought, a sly grin spreading over her face.
She stood up on the branch in the tree and made her final checks, drawing a dark cloak around her and a hood over her head, before jumping down. Kikyo landed with a thud in a crouched position before slowly standing up. She kept a hand on her weapon in case any of the firsties spooked and attacked her. "Not that I don't have faith that Professors Llwyd and Llwyd would stop them from maiming me," she thought, "Better safe than sorry though."
Auburn was a little behind schedule, but, she wasn't worried. Unless the newblood were completely incapable, they shouldn't need rescuing for several minutes at least. She was in her mission gear, covered from toe to shoulder in a light armored suit with her massive sword strapped onto her back. She made her way up the path and came to the launch point, remembering last year. She'd proven herself when ehr group attracted a Death Stalker. None of the rest were ready to take on the thing, but, Auburn had them lure it to an overhang. She'd climbed down a little and held to the side to watch an, wehn the creature was in position, she'd launcher herself using her semblance, and punched through the caracie with her sword.
But that was last year. By this point, she was regarded as one of the more elite students. She still lacked academically, but, she was definitely improving. She'd barely even been literate when she first arrived, still, she clearly understood most of the material and the bits she struggled on, she still passed . She was just in time to hear the smaller of the Professors Llwyd speak, and walked in on Kikyo leaping down from a tree. As though it was a regular mindless chore for Auburn, she simply walked up behind Kikyo and just lifted her up by the collar of her shirt and approached the cliffside and launch pads.
"Ignore Kikyo, she thinks herself a good pranker. Now, Kikyo, you gonna behave, or, am I launching you? I know how to activate them you know."Anyone who knew what Auburn did would not doubt she knew. Physical tasks she learned after seeing it done once so, since she had no money aside from what she earned with the odd side job in town, she paid off her education by assisting around the school. She was able to repair something after seeing it done once and tasks would range from simple things like errands or cleaning, to more complicated things like repairs or, in this case, providing support for initiation.
Depending on Kikyo's answer, Auburn would either set her down on the grass or launchpad as she pulled out her scroll."My name is Auburn newbloods. I'm a second year and I will be assisting Mrs. and Mrs, Llwyd. I won't step in unless it is needed however. My primary reason for being here is to deal with tougher Grimm. The Professors are of course more capable in general, but, my specialty is hitting hard and I can end a fight in one hit if needed." She looked up at the others, whom she towered over at six-foot three, nodding to the professors. "And just a friendly warning from a senior student, Professor Llwyd, the pregnant one, does tend to make disruptive students float during class before giving them detention. And Mrs Llwyd is not particularly fond of those who misbehave or cause her wife problems. So, I strongly recommend being on your best behaviors in their classes. Especially girls. School uniforms for girls include skirts. You do not want to be floating around the classroom in a skirt. Kikyo found that one out the hard way."

Weapon(s): Judgement is a massive sword that is 77" long, 14" wide and weighs 54 lbs, but, has no unique properties other than that. Auburn is able to wield this beast of a blade, even one-handed, because of her Semblance.
However, her boots and bracers are equipped with mini cannon-like guns that fire off dust rounds and the bracers can deploy into gauntlets when she wishes to switch to hand-to-hand. (See Mission for image of bracers and boots)
Semblance: Stallion’s Strength: Auburn’s semblance is a passive one that enhances her Strength, Speed, Agility, Endurance, Durability, and even recovery by strengthening her muscles directly. She can semi-activate it to give her an even greater boost, though, doing so can lead to painful and sometimes severe injury and cannot be sustained for long periods of time.
Noire heads towards the direction of the initiation of the first year students. " Ah this is quite the scenery, Definitely more to see then the snowy landscape of atlas." Noire says as he muses at the scenery around him as a breeze blows by him. As he edges closer to the launch site he says others already there or appearing there. " Oh my it seems there quite lively." He thought to himself as he can somewhat overhear and see whats going on.
He casually walks to the launch pad area of the cliff. Smiling and waving at the others as he walks by them. As he waits he takes out is weapons to check them out quickly to make sure he was well prepared for what is ahead. " Hmm I have enough magazines and clips for now, Lets see I also have two sets of two throwing daggers and knifes and one special magazine with 10 rounds only in it." He mumbles to himself under his breath. Then Noire puts his equipment away proceeding to think to himself for a few moments. " I hope this will be enough. It will prove to be a good test for "that" part of my semblance." He then sighs. " Problem is I only brought a limited amount of these special items, Since there not easy and take time to make." He thinks to himself while looking at the others who are gathered there.

Astra would pout. She knew that they were just being difficult. Then she moved her tongue in her mouth, before she would animate. She didn't care that they said to drop it. If they were paired and she was being lowered down, Astra would have to move away from the goal to find her partner. That didn't make sense at all, however there was another way.
"I can always take her in my Cheek pouches. It's pretty big in there!" Her smile would be big. She had never seen inside of her semblence, but she was able to fit a doll house in there, so it was big enough for a human right?! "That was she is launched as well, and is safe!" She knew that most people were grossed out by her Semblence, but it had it's uses.
Astra would then here a man, he was wearing black and he had black hair. She looked at him briefly, her tail bouncing up and down. Then another person appeared. He was checking his weapons. Her eyes would light up as she saw them. She wondered how they would feel or fire. There were stars in her eyes.
Ariana had simply stood there, listening. It seemed the teachers were adamant on their position that she be lowered down while her partner seemed adamant she join them. Then, some boy showed up and started panicking. A girl jumped from a tree and another girl seemed to chastise her. It was utter chaos and she briefly rubbed her temples. Teh her partner seemed to suggest carrying her in her mouth. It was not an appealing thought.
"E-excuse me? Um..I-I'm sorry...but...that doesn't exactly sound very pleasant. Don't worry though. I will know what direction to head in and I am used to navigating without sight so, I'm pretty good at maintaining a direction. I'll meet you halfway."
