The slicing blade indeed deflected the kunai, but they went to the sides and were partially cut into. One of them just barely missed 13. This… this was not the proper defensive technique that she desired. She needed to widen the beam of wind. Her previous technique was made only for offensive and cuttin. It involved focusing the chakra and releasing it at the end of the swing of the fan.
Knowing this, she tried something new. She applied the opposite logic to the new technique. She spread her chakra throughout the fan and let it flow out for the entire swing. This time, a much larger blast of wind was delivered, which blew on the snow.
She knew that the fan was also good for more than just defense and offense. To master it, she needed to be able to use it to get around the battle field. She focused chakra into it and swung it down at the ground. It sent her high into the air, and she found herself spinning as she struggled to aim her fan for a second swing, then she crashed to the ground and rolled into a tree.
She got to her feet, wincing from the pain in her side. Well, she could use that to move in an emergency but… flight was out of the question for now.
She wanted something powerful too. If she were going out into the corruption to fight monsters, her normal assassination wind blade may not cut it. She swung her fan in a different pattern this time, making multiple windblades. It was a bit exhausting and took up too much movement however. She had an idea though. To make it more efficient, she manipulated her chakra to form multiple wind blades with a single swing. Doing this, she found that the blades launched in different directions. At first she thought this might be troublesome… but after a bit she could control their directions a little, and the checkered pattern that they flew off in would actually create an offensive wall that an enemy wouldn’t easily pierce.
She still had a few other wind techniques she wanted to practice… but thinking back, she had lost her fans recently. Without them, she’d only had access to her La’Ahad techniques. She hadn’t even had weapons, so she had no real means of inflicted massive damage if she were disarmed in combat.
This was something she needed to remedy for the future. So, she would use those things. She looked at her hands. There were small holes in the palms, barely visible. She remembered when she had been sent to a certain man, who by his number-name that Thorns went by was called 3. He’d installed these things in her arms. He’d explained briefly how to use them. But the next thing she knew she’d been sent off to Fuji, and she’d never received the proper training.
She gritted her teeth and held her hands in front of her. She’d been told that if she did it wrong her arms could explode… but she found that it was actually pretty easy. Only once she surged her chakra in the wrong direction and felt a slight pain. But she was blasting air waves out of her hands before she knew it. She tried this technique on a rock poking out of the snow. At first it just blew the snow away, but she found that she could alter the wave between how much sound and wind was outputted, so that she could shatter rocks this way.
Another problem she had was more tactical. She hadn’t been brushing up on her spying skills, having had to focus on winning fights since she’d come to the city. But having a quick way to retreat would come in hand. She practiced flooding her legs with chakra and moving, until she found that she could move extremely fast. She moved from one spot to another, appearing to have teleported to anyone who may have been watching: the body flicker technique.
