Eligibility: Going for both!
Personalities: Knight – The knight is soft-hearted and timid. The only time he feels brave is when his loved ones are in trouble. He would prefer nothing more than to spend his days lounging in a pretty field, but his new friend isn’t always content to sit around.

Dragon – The dragon knows the value of her power and is not afraid to use it. She prefers to take action and does not handle boredom well. She sees adventure in all things, even if it’s just fighting pests out of the garden.

History/Story: The knight was not always a knight. Once he was a simple gardener content to spend his days tending to his tulips. Things went awry the day the winged beast invaded his flower plot. It was badly injured and distraught. He tried to approach, uncertain if he should offer help or drive the monster away to protect his beloved flowers. As soon as he was spotted, however, the scaly beast drew up, spread its wings and started hissing menacingly. The gardener hid at first, to his credit he only stayed away for most of the afternoon and by evening he had gathered his courage to approach again. This time the monster did not try to scare him off but settled for glaring.

He offered a bit of food and water which the beast accepted, albeit cautiously, and once completed a tense silence settled over the pair. Eventually the gardener found his courage and asked what had happened. The creature glared at him but opened its mouth and spoke, in a dignified, feminine voice, of a treasure she had found and the giant that had stolen it from her. She had tried to fend the giant off with fang and claw but had been vanquished quickly and thrown to the ground as though she were nothing. The gardener offered his sympathies and promised the beast that she would be safe to recover in his garden.

As the dragon recovered the two became closer until eventually the dragon proposed a plan to reclaim the treasure wrongfully taken by the giant. The gardener was nervous but agreed, his new friend seemed keen on going with or without him after all. He couldn’t leave her to get hurt on her own again. The two set off on a magnificent adventure soaring over fields of flowers, and sprawling fields of grass so tall the couldn’t see the sun through the blades when they stood in it. The dragon fended off all manner of wild creature like monstrous rabbits and wasps the size of his head. He was quite proud of his effort in the Great Battle of the Toad, managing to kick the monster square in the eye and sending it hoping away. He began helping the dragon with her fights more after that.

When finally they reached the layer of the giant they were prepared. The two slipped easily into the cave with its strange walls flapping in the breeze and found the giant slumbering. The dragon led the way in, her sharp eyes darting about for her treasure. She spotted it sitting in a massive pile that dwarfed the both of them. As they approached the treasure, however, the giant stirred. The dragon charged, scaling the giant’s leg and biting at everything she could reach. The gardener watched in horror as the giant swatted his friend off as though she weighed nothing. With a roar he took to the sky and flew at the giant’s face and, just as he had at the Great Battle of the Toad, he went for the eyes. The giant swatted at him like a gnat, but he dodged this way and that. Soon the dragon was right beside him attacking the giants face just as he did. The giant stumbled and fell and without missing a second the dragon dove for the treasure. The gardener followed right behind and the two shoved as much as they could into sacks to haul it away. As they were leaving the dragon spotted something else, sitting apart from the treasure, a sword laid out on an ornamental stand. She grabbed it and presented it to the gardener.

“A knight needs a sword.” She said teasingly before racing out of the giant’s layer.

Extra Information: The dragon is only the size of a regular lizard. Our dashing knight just spends all his time shrunk down.
Everything’s an adventure when you’re only six inches tall.

Edited: 10:09 EST to void! I won a pony elsewhere and don't want to enter solely for the Dragon Fam. <3

It's Story Time![
Username(s): Wasteland Wyvern

Eligibility: Going solo for both!

Personalities:
The Knight: Prim, proper, regal, all these things once described the Knight or rather the Prince he used to be. Nowadays he tends to be rather irritable and lethargic but that doesn't mean his manners aren't still in there, just buried deeply under the lethargy that currently plagues him.

The Dragon: Sinister, self serving, greedy, and gluttonous. The Dragon sees what it wants and it takes it. Mind you in this beasts' mind treasure doesn't necessarily mean gold coins or jewels.

History/Story:
Years and years ago in a small kingdom of Soquili there reigned a family of Flutters who ruled over a small village and several farmsteads. The kingdom was thriving and bountiful and had little trouble feeding the mouths that relied on it even in the most bitter of winters.
The King and Queen were kind and giving always making sure to listen when their villagers came to them with problems and while they made sure to help where they could they also made sure not to allow the villagers to become too reliant on them. It was with a fair and even hoof that they ruled, always.
Now one night in one of the deepest, coldest winters they'd had in a long time their son came into this world. He was carefully placed in a velvet lined basket to allow his full maturation like all Soquili foals were. Weeks passed as the basket slowly colored along with the developing colt within and finally, finally the wicker seal broke and he tumbled into their lives. He bore his mothers colors and his fathers wings and eyes. A perfect representation of the two rulers and the kingdom rejoiced at his birth! A son, an heir!
The feast celebrating his birth lasted for three days and it was a glorious thing to behold.
He grew quickly with all the knowledge and wisdom his parents could impart, learning the tricks of flight, the ability to change his size, but most importantly, at least to his parents, was that he was kind and fair like them.
He absorbed every bit they gave him and then some.
One day our playful Prince, now a strapping young colt, was strolling the village with his bodyguard and he came across a stall selling the brightest oranges he'd ever seen. He stopped at the stall and chatted a bit with the owners, an aged Unicorn stallion and his wife a graceful if small of stature Wind mare. The lines around their eyes spoke of age but still their eyes sparked with happiness and humor. He was enthralled as the stallion told him how they grew the best oranges in the valley and if the Prince wanted he'd be glad to show him their farm. Gladly he agreed and his parents allowed this as long as he took his bodyguard and an extra guard for safety.
Weeks passed and he found reason to slip away so very often to this farm that his parents began to wonder why he wanted to spend all his time there. In secret his father took on his smaller form and followed his son to the farm where he finally figured out the secret. Their son was enthralled with the farmers daughter a beautiful cream colored Alicorn. His father was horrified by this! Assuming his larger form again he marched up to his son and nipped him about the ears showing his displeasure by the sharpness of the bites. He scolded his son and forced him back up to the castle where he was confined to his rooms.
"You know better than this! You were taught better than this!" His father raged. The Prince had been betrothed to a neighboring kingdoms Princess since he was a year old. It was an age old tradition and a song as old as time, and naturally the Prince railed against this. He had eyes only for his Alicorn mare and sulked in his rooms. No matter how often he tried to escape he couldn't seem to get away, till one night that is.
He waited till his guard changed to a new one and then when they thought him asleep he took on his smaller form and slipped out through a small hole in the stone near the roof. As he flew through the night he had no idea that he was being stalked.
Through the night flew a great beast of legend, one that hadn't been seen in these lands for many a decade. Tonight this beast had its yellow slitted eyes trained on the small form flying ahead of it and with lightning speed the dragon caught the Princes' hind leg in his mouth, the sharp teeth digging in and drawing blood! The Prince too startled and in pain to assume his larger form was forced along for the ride and when the pain became too great he blacked out as the countryside sped along beneath him...
When he woke he was in a tiny gilded cage with a lock upon the door. He got up and with limping steps looked around him.
He was in a cavern like area with glowing green lichen like plants that clung to the walls and the sound of flowing water. He knew his lands well enough to know that he wasn't anywhere familiar.
Suddenly the sound of scales whispering along the stone floor caught his ears and he turned, injured leg held up to prevent too much weight upon it. There in the shadows the dragon moved forward with a prize in its mouth. His Alicorn mare... There was blood staining her cream colored fur where the teeth dug in. Carefully the dragon lay his mare on the ground before his cage and said in a slimy grating voice, "Hello my Prince..." The voice had a mocking edge to it as it spoke his title.
"What do you want from me beast?!" He fired back at it. The slimy voice came again this time with a hissing laughter attached to it. "Oh nothing in particular... Just a moment of your time is all."
The Prince watched the beast as it moved back and forth but always keeping the mare within striking distance. "Leave her be..." The Prince spat.
"Oh this? Just a bargaining chip for now. I won't hurt her, well anymore than my teeth did dragging her in. Small as she is she was a bit heavier than I like to carry." The Prince fearing for his lover said in a more gentile tone, "What do you want of me? I'll do anything to assure she goes home..." The dragons eyes flashed for a moment knowing he'd snared his prize after all.
He heard the beast chuckle before it spoke again. "Why my Prince... It's just a trifle really... Nothing you'll really miss anyway..."
The Prince waited, breath baited for the price for his lovers freedom.
"Your heart..."
His voice stuttering a bit from fear he said, "What... My... How could I give you...?" He was confused and his tone showed it.
"Oh my Prince you can give of yourself anything you truly want to and for your lovers freedom your heart is what I want. Now the question is will you pay it?"
The Prince's mind was afire with ideas, wondering how he could get out of this, and could he save her life and escape too? Each and every answer came up no. It was her or him and as his parents taught him he should always look to give first and foremost. With a sigh he said, "I'll do it... Just let her go first."
The slimy voice, dripping with victory, spoke minutes later, "Good, good... I'll return momentarily after I return this from where I got it." Gingerly the beast picked her up in his mouth and flew off, the coppery scent of her blood lingered for a moment before drifting out with the wind and the Prince resigned himself to whatever bargain he'd struck. Just as dawn broke the sky the dragon returned and said, "She's tucked back in her orange orchard with her family and she'll not remember a bit of this upon wakening. Now a bargain is a bargain. Your heart is mine..." Its deranged, slimy voice echoed off the walls as it begun the ritual to claim his heart. He'd heard of magic in his time but he always thought it a fairy tale till now. He watched as the beast said some ancient sounding words before a pain ripped through his chest. Knocked to his three good knees he saw a thin strand of red trickle down his chest, though he didn't know how the wound came to be, the dragon moving to catch his life blood within a small container that seemed to him to pulse with the heart beating in his breast. In truth it was an illusion and the beast wasn't actually doing any true magic but the "magic" of illusion could almost be stronger than real magic if one believed enough and the Prince surely did.
When it was over the Prince felt off, wrong, changed... He looked to the Dragon and said, "What did you do to me...?"
The Dragon spoke with that same hissing laugh to it, "I took your heart and now you are mine." The Prince spoke his voice flat and devoid of emotion, "But what does that mean?!"
The Dragon shook its head wondering how stupid this Prince was if he wasn't getting it yet. "It means you cannot hurt me or mine and you must stay here and guard me and my treasure hoard for as long as I hold your heart." The Prince felt his legs give out from underneath him as the dragon spoke one last time. "Get a good long rest my Knight, for tomorrow your duties begin."
The Prince, turned unwillingly Knight to the Dragon of legend took up his mantle the next day, a sword in his mouth and guarded the Dragon from that day forth. The pendant slung about the monsters neck forever pulsed in rhythm with his heart, and the Kingdom never knew what became of the heir to the throne...

Extra Information: Nothing in particular. OwO Other than sorry for the novel! xD I tried to make it smaller but this is the best I could while conveying the story. sweatdrop

The Knight was always brave even before he was captured as a mere stallion. He has a heart of gold even if like all darkness may lurk deep within. He will always do what is right even if the price is high.

The dragon is another story once grand and brave how far must one fall to stand against all there former beliefs? Now only a trickster seeking someone to corrupt to do its evil deeds. Does the dragon still retain its former memories before it fell into despair? Before it was tricked at its own game and forced to do the bidding of another.

History/Story:

Not all tales are happy ones. Not every story deserves to be called a fairy tale. This story is an odd one we have two characters much opposite as fire and water. This is the tale of two very different beings who may or may not be able to put their differences aside for the greater good...

There once lived a stable boy who only lived to please others. He was not so much of a boy but a foal who would grow up on a path he never dreamed of. He had m,any hopes and dreams he wanted to be able to take over the farm on that he was raised. He was treated well where he was.

The family he lived with never had any foal's so they treated him as their own. He worked as a stable hand only by choice not because he was forced to. He took care of all the familiars and was great friends with them. One day something unexpected happened. He had a strange dream there appeared to be a dragon..needing help. He appeared to be mortally wounded and in great pain. He woke up with a jolt a storm was raging outside.

He braced the wind and flew out into the storm without a second thought or look back. He had to find that dragon he knew deep within himself that things would never be the same again.

As the storm grew worse he was forced to retreat into a small cave. He wanted to keep searching for the dragon but the weather would not allow it. He fell into an unrest full sleep but when he awoke he was surrounded by what looked like royal guards. One of them walked up to him and pointed a sword at his chest.

"You will not speak a word of this. The price has died and you are to be his replacement. You look just like him and you will learn to act like him understood? The king believes that the prince is away for training and will not be back for many months."

I could not believe what I was hearing. How could I replace the prince? I needed to find the dragon and make it home to my family.

"Excuse me sir.. I do not wish to become a prince or have anything to do with this. I have a family waiting for me and I must get back to them"

The guard glared at me and snorted making a gesture with his head. I was led down into the cells where I was chained up so that I would not be able to leave. I did not know what to do. I was afraid for my life I did not wish to become royalty and how did they find me? That was when I noticed the dragon chain ed up in a cell across from mine.

"Beast! Did you lead these men to where I was? With your foul magic? You must be a evil dragon for them to chain you up like that. If you helped them I see no other reason why"

The dragon looked up and met my gaze but when it did my head exploded with pain and I could only try to keep from crying out. This could not be the same dragon from my visions. I could hear it speaking as if it was inside of my mind.

"You do not know of that you speak mortal..I am a great and powerful like those before me..You will show me respect I have earned... If you may help me escape this place I will forever be in your dept.."

The dragon was not being truthful but the stallion did not know that. He had gone from a foal to a stallion in such little time. Magic must have worked differently here. Magic did not exist where he was from so he did not know what the dragon could do.

"I will help you if you in return help me.. Help me escape from this place I do not wish to become a prince or have anything to do with this place"

The dragon grinned a sinister grin and nodded "Very well.. We will make a pact..I will be bound to you from this moment on.. We will escape this place..You will not be a prince but instead a knight..My knight..You fight for me now.."

The stallion did not have a chance to think twice because the surrounding chains suddenly started grabbing at him and pulling him down. The dragon was somehow freed and with a wicked smile started to speak some spell. It was spoken in dragon tongue. Flames then started to engulf the stallion and dragon at the same time.

"You are now reborn as my warrior and champion you will do my bidding for me until the end of time! My flames connect us as one we will never be separated if one us should die we both die!"

The stallion could do nothing but stand helplessly as his entire world was turned upside down. He was tricked into a life he never chose the life of a shadow knight forever tied to the will of a dragon. He would do everything in his power to not let the darkness consume him and drag him down into the darkness now within him.
Extra Information: The dragon teleported them to the Kawani lands and they lost the power of magic after this story.

Personalities: Illarin, the dark stallion, likes to think of himself as an honorable, capable knight, but the truth is that he can be rather easily distracted and absent-minded at times. He has a good, caring heart, but he's rather ineffective when it comes to performing knightly duties. Revvyn, on the other hand, is lazy and sardonic, caring little what others think of him and frequently pointing out flaws in logic from others, especially as it pertains to how he is treated (Illarin wasn't the first knight, by far, to come looking for him- he was just the biggest buffoon and most entertaining disaster). He might tell you that he has a soft spot for idiots, but it seems to be limited exclusively to Illarin, as far as anyone knows.
History/Story:

In all honesty, it might have been a rather pathetic story if told from an outsider's point of view. Hell, it might be a rather sad tale anyway considering Illarin was meant to slay the damn beast, not make friends with it, but it might have been true that he had a soft spot for hopeless causes and helpless creatures. And despite his appearance, Revvyn was as helpless as they came.

That comment would have earned him a solid tail-slap him over the head, if his lazy dragon friend had heard it.

The truth was, determined as Illarin had been to complete his task and rid the neighboring herd of this nearby interloper (all they had really suffered was some missing trinkets and a steady trickling disappearance of some mice and small rabbits, but he hadn't known that at the time), he was struck dumb when the fearsome creature he was expecting to fight had taken one look at him, rolled over and groaned loudly, muttering, "Again?! Why can't you blasted fuzzy pests just leave me alooooone," punctuated by an overly dramatic flailing of all four of his clawed legs in the air.

A moment passed, with only a baffled blink and a slow intake of breath punctuating the silence. "Uh... pardon?" Not Illarin's finest moment, he would grant you, but the sheer ridiculousness of that response threw him for an unexpected loop, and he startled at the implication that he was the invading party, here, and not the other way around. "Aren't you, uh... the creature that's been terrorizing Kawani lands?"

A pause. Golden eyes blinked open and settled on him, scrutinizing, as the dragon creature slowly rolled back onto his stomach, never breaking eye contact, and squinted at him. "...You're not the sharpest tack in the drawer, are you?"

Illarin was affronted at the insult- and he could tell it was an insult, even if he had no idea what a tack or a drawer was. Two legger oddities, perhaps- a theory that made sense considering the odd pile of knick-knacks that seemed to litter the ground behind the red lizard creature. Maybe he liked collecting them- did he steal them? Certainly, that would be cause for concern, but back to the matter at hand... "Erm. I'm here to... slay you..?" He meant it to be a statement of fact, but the sentence ended in an upward inflection since he had honestly been expecting some form of hostility, at the very least. He wasn't sure how he felt about killing a creature that didn't seem to mean him any physical harm...

...Wait a minute...

Raising his head and narrowing his eyes, the knight looked the creature up and down, realization beginning to dawn. "You don't look big enough to be causing any significant harm to a Soquili... did you say you were being hunted by others?" While he hadn't questioned the logic of this mission before, now indignance was starting to rise up with this idea that this dragon was being targeted for reasons outside of its own control... what right did anyone have to hunt a creature just for existing?

"Oh-ho, it can think for itself!" the creature crowed with an exaggerated wave of his tail, as if in sarcastic congratulations. "And here I thought you were just a run-of-the-mill moron looking for glory."

"But that's..." the stallion wrinkled his nose, genuinely upset as he looked from the dragon creature to the area around him. "That's not right. You shouldn't be being hunted if you didn't do anything wrong." He saw the dragon roll his eyes and huff at his naivete, but for once, Illarin didn't allow himself to be diverted from his point, feeling particularly bothered on the creature's behalf. "If they're going to keep trying to hunt you, then... I'll look after you."

For a moment, there was no response from the creature, as it appeared just to stare at him incredulously for a moment. Later, Illarin would find out that Revvyn might have been rather touched by the gesture (he would never say it out loud, but they had an odd way of communicating), but at the moment he felt particularly judged by that disbelieving stare. Finally, a loud snort followed the silence after his declaration in what may have been a scoff or a chuckle, he wasn't entirely sure. "Well. This should be interesting."

Extra Information: Revvyn likes to steal shiny things. Illarin's sword was a gift from the dragon, but he has no idea that it was stolen from another Soquili- something that will undoubtedly start an argument somewhere down the line.

Eligibility: Solo, going for both
Personalities:

Dragon: She is a dragon through and through. Greedy, covetous. Bad-tempered. Fond of riddles and collectin treasures. Though her treasures are less shiny gold and gems and jewels or objects. More she collects those who are beautiful or unique in some way, shape or form. And the knight is her greatest treasure and acquisition.

Knight: Though he always dreamed of a life of being a knight, honorable and protective, he was too shy and timid and fearful to go out and actually do anything about it. Until he met her. His dragon. The one who gave him the courage and reason to be brave.

History/Story:

From the egg, she had known she was special. Different. Unique. Things that once she hatched became less positive. Odd. Strange. Freak. She learned to be difficult. Unapproachable. Distant. But she longed deep in her heart of hearts to belong. To have companionship. To be loved for who she was. But alas, it was not meant to be. She tried many times and in many different places to find others like herself. But time and time again, she was disappointed. Until she finally gave up any hope. Then she found the glade. It was a place of quiet, serene beauty without anyone there to tell her how things should be. It was a place she could live in harmony and just be herself.

And so it went for many moons. And for the most part she was content with her quiet life. On occasion finding others like herself who might need kindness and a kindred spirit. Eventually becoming a part of her hoard of treasures. Some stayed only hours, some seemed like they would stay indefinately. But no matter what, they were her treasures, and she would always see them as such...

It was a mystery how the young flutter stallion had come to the glade. She didn't know how it happened. Just that one day he wasn't there and the next, he was. It was as simple as that. A small flutter stallion, little larger than the average butterfly. Who didn't even know his own name. All he knew was that somewhere deep deep down, he wanted to be a knight. That in his own mind at least, he was one.

He knew he he was a knight, and so she decided that he would do his best and he would be her most prized treasure. She would find things to help him become who he was meant to be. Her Knight. Her Protector. Hers. She found him bits fo armor and a sword. Letting him know he could do anyhthing . Be anything. But she would always see him as her knight.

So he took it upon himself to live up to the faith she had in him. He decided to stay. To not know the who the what or the why of his past. He would be hers. Her knight.

Extra Information: Far away in a small glen in a small wood, lives a flutter stuck in his shrunken form with no idea that there is anything that could be different for him. And a winged lizard who found shelter away from the rest of the world that might otherwise consider her to be a freak or not normal or just … not. Here she found safety. Shelter. Home. Here two fragile hearts found a place to belong. The rest of the world be damned.

knight: sharp, cunning, honorable. believes in the good of others. never a quitter
dragon: greedy, secretive, but possessive. loyal to her knight
History/Story:

They met when he was still a young foal, off on a journey to explore the lands. He found an egg, thinking it was that of a condor, and brooded. It later hatched the size of a lizard. Okay, that was weird. Why would such a large egg have a lizard? But he grew fond of it. And it started to grow. Bigger and bigger. Until it was the size of his own head!

The two began to learn things about life together. Whether how the lizard was a dragon who would fly and breathe fire. How the foal was training to be a knight. They had training together, however, they had to stay hidden. The dragon surely would be killed by the knight's kind if they found out that one dragon still lived.

So the knight would guard his dragon, and the dragon would tell him stories of dragon legend and keep him warm.

Personalities:
Knight- Vigilante, Clumsy, Honest
Dragon- Sly, Greedy, Loyal
History/Story: The knight roamed the lands. He preferred to sweep in to correct a wrong he saw being done then away in the night! The knight didn't care much for praise and fame. He never settled in one place. One day, on his travels he spotted a dragon attacking a soquili for the bright jewelry she wore. The knight drove right in, sword flashing he drove the dragon back after a few mishaps. After making sure the mare was unharmed, he tracked the dragon to it's lair.

"Come forth beast and speak to me!" The knight bellowed a challenge to the reptile. He waited for the dragon oozed from it's den. It hissed at him and replied, "why should I do that arrogant horse?" He blinked surprised at the refusal. "Because I want to talk. You shouldn't steal from others. It will get you into trouble." There was a hiss and a laugh from inside the cave. "Trouble from you? Please! You could barely keep your feet in our fight. Go bother someone else." The knight sighed. Others had brushed off his advice too. He went about his way.

It wasn't long there after that he heard a fierce battle raging over a hill. The knight cantered up, sword drawn. There below him was the dragon fighting a skinwalker. Who was in the wrong here? He hesitated a moment, then made his choice. The knight rushed into the fray, distracting the skinwalker and helping the dragon get away. The pair battled the skinwalker until he retreated. The knight panted and put down his sword. "I warned you didn't I?" He eyed the dragon. The dragon eyed him back. The knight caught his breath then headed upon his way.

The dragon contemplated the situation for awhile. He was grateful to the knight for saving him. Perhaps there was something he could do in return. They did fight pretty well as a team. The dragon slunk after the knight.
Extra Information: Dragon still tries to steal stuff, but doesn't always succeed.

Names: Stallion: Shale (My bf named his RDR2 horse this and I thought it was really lovely). Familiar: Kaolin (to go with the kind of Earth theme of 'Shale')
Personalities:
Shale: Shale has always been a distracted boy. He rarely finds anything that can keep his attention for long. He never means to hurt anyone's feelings from walking away from a conversation, it just happens. Its not that he sees something shiny and goes after it, its more like his mind is always turning and thinking of other things. Its partially why he can have such good concentration during his fighting and training. Because he can asses others fighting style (If they have one) and build up a defense and attack plan.
Kaolin: Kaolin is a charmer. He likes nothing more than to talk to the ladies and flirt. He never seems to be serious about anything;. He is like Shale in that aspect, that fighting is one thing he becomes serious over. As soon as he clicks into fight mode, he doesn't turn it off unless he has won, or on the brink of death. But for Kaolin, its all about family. He fights to protect. For him, that is the only reason to fight.
History/Story:
The two of them, at present, are warriors for hire. They have passed their clan's tests and now venture out into the world to help others. They have heard tales of a small village of horses small as Shale. They plan to head in that direction, but will detour for any who need their help.

Shale was an abandoned basket that a clan of fighting lizards found one day. They had never raised a soquili before, but they had ulterior motives for this steed. It seemed one of their new trainees lacked the fighting spirit. So the elders decided to ingrain into the two that they were bond brothers and needed to do anything to protect eachother.

The clan was in luck. Shale grew to love the art of fighting, and learned it with speed. With Kaolin, this tactic also worked. He couldn't stand to see his brother be harmed in the training, so he decided to train himself. That way, he would insure if Shale ever got into a scuffle he couldn't handle, he would be there to cover his back.

Extra Information: Small plot idea: I would love to have them find a large stallion after they leave the clan picking on a mare that they can test their fighting prowess on. But they are only used to fighting woodland creatures so they fail at besting him. Because of this, I would love for them to find someone who can teach Shale how to fight in his large form, and teach Kaolin the art of dodging in and being a distraction.

I would also love for him to make it to the Aos Si Kingdom at some point so he can see others like him. Maybe he can help around the town and find someone who needs some work done. Maybe Kaolin can get into a little trouble at the Tavern wink .

Horse:
This soquili is a warrior to the core, but he has a knight's chivalrous heart. He falls for the princess at first sight, but it is not for her beauty, it is for her heart. Even though he comes to secure a political marriage through violence, the violence is the one thing he refuses to use. He is protective and determined. His fortitude is legendary in his home kingdom, as is his prowess in battle. Some would even say that he is a berserker.

Dragon:
This lizard familiar and dragon was once a soquili princess. But now she is trapped in the form of a dragon. Her heart is generous and her regard for life is strong. However, she will do what she must to survive, and she will do what she must to find true love -- and a cure for the spell that cursed her.

History/Story:
A long time ago in a kingdom far, far away...

In this kingdom there lived a princess. Her beauty was legendary, as was her sense of independence. She had many suitors, including the king's pet wizard. The wizard had dreams of glory and conquest, but he was no fighter. Instead he concocted a plan to win the princess' hand and decimate all neighboring kingdoms, making them easy to conquer.

The wizard kidnapped the princess and placed her in a tower surrounded by a moat and defensible walls, a modest fortress. Within the fortress, it is said, there lies a dragon. But this rumor is very new. In fact, the princess IS the dragon.

Princes from neighboring kingdoms with a fondness for the princess came one after another to kill the dragon. And each time they met the dragon the princess had no choice but to use deadly force to save herself from the prince. She did not want to be such an expensive trophy. She was angry with each prince even as she grieved over their deaths. If a reptilian creature can weep, this one surely did.

The wizard, meanwhile, laughed at each and every corpse, sometimes even kicking it.

Sometimes, too, he bragged about his ingenious plan, which unfortunately for him finally met the ears of one more rescuer. This soquili, a born-warrior, had accompanied his prince to the dragon's tower. He witnessed the death of his lord and the subsequent mourning by the dragon. Of course his confusion, even though he was unable to hear the actual conversation was defeated by the pantomime that followed. The evil wizard. The impotent dragon, obvious pleading. The gentle care of the dragon with the prince's corpse. This dragon could be an ally if the warrior played his cards right!

In the fight that ensued, the dragon was not attacked and therefore did not attack. To the warrior's great relief. The wizard, however, was a tragic case. Before he could be forced to return the princess to her true form, or at least insinuate any information about the cure, the warrior accidentally killed him in a scuffle. Now the princess is trapped indefinitely and the warrior has pledged himself to her care and new quest.

"But you know, for the first time in my life I know what it is to fly... "

Extra Information:
- I would probably re-write this in a better story form, with dialogue, etc.
- The wizard is not pre-existing, though he would be fun to "resurrect" through customs.
- Eventually in their travels, the knight and his princess the dragon will fall in love, despite their species difference.

History/Story: The stallion, once a noble, beloved knight, would do anything to help those in need, esp those close to him. Yet...as self-sacrificing as he was, and how much it was valued by others, it left him feeling empty...as there was nothing left for...him. And the one he wished to be lifemated to, was often jealous of his time, time he was giving to help others, and not be with her. It left him feeling broken, hurt, and directionless. So he set off on his own, leaving everything behind, to try and find meaning, purpose, peace. On this journey, he came across a dragon that he found both friendly, but mysterious. Initially he wasn't sure if he wanted her hanging around. Afterall, he wanted solitude and peace. But the dragon was persistent, insistent she could be a valuable ally to the knight. For reasons even he doesn't understand, he felt compelled to allow her to stay. Not much is known about her by the knight. He knows she prefers to keep her business...as her business. Little does he know, however, that she is actually a servant of his once beloved, sent to help keep him safe as he tries to find out who he really is...

Jocelyn ( Stallion ): He's a real knight - knows how to use a sword and everything! He's honest (some of the time) and has a wide streak of roguish charm. If someone was actually in danger he'd do his job for real, but when no one is he's content with his playacting.

Finley ( "Dragon" ): It used to be he was largely a hermit who minded his own business for the most part until he met Jocelyn. It started with a deal for him to be left alone but gradually he warmed up and they became friends. Now he's just as into mischief as Jocelyn is - though more often than not he becomes the voice of reason so things don't get too out of hand.

History/Story:

Jocelyn came to a flutter village that was in a panic - they claimed to be harried by a dragon! Being a good knight he offered to go and slay the beast so that they would no longer be plagued by it. It took some tracking but eventually he came upon the beast. It was quite the dragon - he'd never seen one before despite telling the villagers he had. But there was work to be done so it was no time to admire - he drew his sword from it's scabard and charged.

Finley thought the knight might be intimidated and leave until the moment he came at him. They fought sword and claw to a standstill, too evenly matched. This did leave them with a bit of a problem.

"Well fought..." He was tiring and out of breath. They'd been fighting for what felt like hours. "Since I cannot win, perhaps we can come to an arrangement instead?"

"If it will let me live and be left alone, I think we can. What do you propose?"

"You come to terrorize the village again and I 'slay' you in front of the villagers." He knew just the way to make it work too. "Then you sneak off home once the coast is clear."

"Woefully dishonest." He huffed softly and flapped his wings. "But it lets me have my solitude and scales intact." He feared if this knight returned a failure then the fluttering ones would seek out more knights to do the same again. "What is your name Sir Knight?"

"Jocelyn."

"I am Finley, and I believe, we have an arrangement Jocelyn."

Extra Information: Jocelyn does spend most of his time being small, but every now and again the urge strikes to have a "big" adventure.

It's Story Time!
Username: Kitsune Mistress Nyoko
Eligibility: Both
Personalities: Knight - Named after the very first White Knight, Muiris has always felt like he had some grand destiny awaiting him beyond the safety of Aos Sí. And perhaps this belief affected how he developed. While noble of heart, Muiris has a tendency to be a bit brash and rush headlong into things without much thought. He thinks himself a gallant protector of the weak and innocent, although truthfully he's more likely to be in need of rescuing himself than doing much of the rescuing. But he's young yet, with room to grow. What matters is that his heart is in the right place, and he does genuinely want to be a good knight.

Dragon - In many ways, Ruaidhrí is the polar opposite of Muiris. He is slow to act and weighs the consequences of each decision he makes a great deal before committing to action. He is the stability to his knight's desire for action, serving as both adviser and confidant. Above all else, he loves a good tale, and spends his personal time developing stories to regale Eachan and Fada alike, although he finds himself favoring the more diminutive. He finds his voice carries more weight when entertaining those of a similar size to himself. And it's dreadfully difficult to get Fada to see him as the dragon he so clearly is.
History/Story: A true Sidhe born to the Seelie court, Muiris spent much of his early life in the peace of Aos Sí. He grew up hearing stories from his mothers, of a distant land across the great sea and the families of knights that protected it. Tales of the origins of the Eachan and the tragedy of the Fada - how very much they must miss when they spend their entire lives so very large. And perhaps he came from a line that had a slight purist tendency - his parents were Sidhe, after all, and why should their gallant little knight settle for anything less?

Truly, his mothers doted upon him. And while they respected the traditions of the herd they had been born to and born Muiris to in turn, they did their best to stack the deck in favor of what they wanted for him. Their favored pet name for him was one from the tales they told him of the first of the White Knights, and he grew so used to hearing it that it was only natural he consent to it on his first naming ceremony. Why wouldn't he want to be named after the heroic knight he'd grown up hearing tales about? And much of his youthful games of pretend involved him as the dashing knight, going on grand quests to defend the innocent.

It was only natural that he choose to pursue life as a Ridir, and he began training as a knight the moment he was old enough. Of course, he quickly discovered that being a knight was nothing like the childhood games he so often indulged in.

Being Sidhe offered him no advantage from his instructors, nor did the noble lineages of his mothers. He was worked the same as any other trainee, offered the same accommodations, and given the exact same lessons and tests. And perhaps he might have even chafed a bit under this treatment. He wasn't particularly excelling in his training, and his impulsive actions often ended in him being reprimanded. He didn't understand why things had to be so difficult when he was just trying to be like the noble knights from his foalhood stories! He was even named after a knight. Shouldn't it have all been second nature for him?

Eventually he was allowed to move onto the second stage of his training, and he worked alongside a more experienced knight on regular patrols to get firsthand experience. And this was where the real trouble started to pop up. Muiris still hadn't learned to temper himself, and often leapt into situations without thinking things through. It seemed his first instinct was to fight any and all perceived threats to the village, when oftentimes it would have been better to simply encourage any nearby Eachan to hide until the threat passed. It earned him many reprimands from his partner, and things eventually culminated with an ultimatum.

Either curb his reckless instincts, or find another job. His brass actions weren't just putting himself in danger, but the entire village.

He couldn't believe what he was hearing! In his mind, he was being reprimanded for protecting the village. Couldn't they see what a good knight he was? Why were they punishing him for chasing away intruders? Perhaps he needed to prove to them that they were wrong. He was destined for greatness, after all! He would be a legendary hero, and everyone who doubted him would regret ever doing so!

It was with that thought in mind that he stole away the next day, heading further up the mountain towards where he'd heard there was a great dragon. And the dragons in his stories were always dangerous beasts that gallant knights slew to defend their villages. It wouldn't be that difficult, would it? He had his own sword and armor and everything!

Of course, the trip was no easy one for a small Sidhe who'd never bothered to learn how to unshrink. And while the rocky slopes the dragon lived in would have been a short journey for a Fada, for an Eachann like Muiris it was an arduous journey. The winds were stronger the further he got, and eventually he could no longer fight the wind with his wings and had to resort to continuing the journey on foot. It was difficult not to feel a sense of relief when the rocky mountain cliffs and the dug out cave within them finally came into view.

Muiris stood outside the cave and demanded the dragon come and face him. He'd expected a great, hulking beast to attack the moment it stepped out! What met him instead was an elegant red and gold creature that only barely brushed the bottom of his belly when standing at his full height.

He introduced himself as Ruaidhrí and asked if the gallant knight before him had come to hear one of his tales. It was a greeting that completely threw Muiris for a loop, and all he could think to do was agree. He was invited into the cave, and despite what he'd set out to do found himself instead spending the evening with the dragon, deep in conversation and being regaled with more than a few tales. Ruaidhrí even offered him advice after hearing his own story, imploring him to take a moment before acting to think of the lessons his mentor was trying to impart upon him and how his actions might affect the Aos Sí.

Muiris spent the night, and found himself leaving the mountain the next morning humbled. He apologized to his mentor, promised he would try to do better but he might need help. A lifetime of impulsivity couldn't simply be willed away in the face of a single encounter, after all.

He found himself visiting Ruaidhrí more and more often, taking his advice and listening to his tales with equal frequency. He was fond of the dragon that he'd initial sought out for the supposed glory of slaying him. He grew to love him, even. It was a departure from everything his mothers had wanted for him. He was supposed to find a nice Sidhe to settle down with, continue the bloodline after reaching glory as a knight. But here he was, in love with a dragon instead. And while he was certain Ruaidhrí both returned his affections and wouldn't mind him finding a Sidhe to eventually bear his children, he couldn't even fathom the thought of children that looked nothing like his hopeful mate.

It was a thought that weighed on him for a long time, even as he grew closer to Ruaidhrí. Even as his graduation to a full fledged Ridir approached.

Again, his beloved offered him a piece of advise he found himself sorely in need of. He didn't need to dwell so heavily on children now. They would come in time, when they were both ready for them. For now, Muiris needed only to focus on his graduation. And perhaps, if his heard desired it as much as Ruaidhrí's did, a lifemating ceremony?

A proposal.

It was one that both completely blindsided Muiris at the same time as it was entirely expected. It had been something they'd discussed, after all. A life together. Somewhere in the Aos Sí, perhaps not right within the Great Tree itself, but somewhere in the kingdom where a Ridir was needed. He accepted, of course.

Ruaidhrí attended his graduation as a knight, and their lifemating ceremony happily coincided with Muiris' third birthday and his second naming ceremony. Before the entire village he declared himself to be Muiris Ruaidhrí Ciaridir. Named for the first of the white knights, mated to his dragon, and carving out a name for himself. Not as a white knight, but as a black one.
Extra Information:
-Muiris's mothers are a cisgender mare by the name of Tuilelaith Ó Fionnáin Áine and a transfeminine nonbinary mare by the name of Síthmaith Ó Allmhurán Medb. He is their biological son.
-Also worth noting is that both his mothers took on the family names of their mates during their lifemating ceremony. Tuilelaith Áine is descended from the Ó Allmhurán family and Síthmaith Medb is descended from the Ó Fionnáin family.
-While Ruaidhrí was born and raised near the Aos Sí, his family was fairly isolated from the herd beyond the very occasional visitor. His bond with Muiris is going to expose him to their culture in more depth than he had ever previously experienced.

Personalities:
Knight: Halvard is a proud stallion through and through. He doesn't take any nonsense from anyone and can often come off as brash and uncaring. Though under it all he can be a real soft hearted fool. When it comes to his friends and loved ones, there is nothing more important. He would do anything and everything for them. There are no limits to what he would try and accomplish for someone he cares for. Even though he is soft on the inside, his hard exterior tends to keep strangers a good distance away. Which is fine with him for the most part. When another does something stupid, he makes sure that they know it. His judgement can be just as harsh as his inside is soft.

Dragon: Viseryd is not very nice to say the least. She doesn't like anything or anyone getting in her way and will happily make it known to them. Though what she wants can often change on a whim. One moment she'll want to be your friend and the next moment she thinks that you are the most annoying thing on the face of the planet. Really everything depends on her mood. So it's best to either catch her in a good one, or leave her alone at a good distance.

History/Story: It was a day much like any other. Halvard was out to find this lizard that everyone in the small village he was passing through had been telling him stories of. Busy saying that it was a no good terrible creature who tormented them to no end. He really didn't take much stock in the stories, but figured it would ease their minds if he went out to check anyway. So there he was. Knee deep in bushes and wondering what his life choices had brought him to.

As he ventured further into the woods he started wondering why the heck anyone even came out this far to be bothered by the lizard in the first place. Like really. Who needs to go out this far for anything from that village. He just shook his head slowly as he came upon the cave the creature was rumored to live in. Struting up to the entrance he cleared his throat rather loadly. "Anyone in there?" Then he tilted his head into the entrance to listen.

Shuffling. Soft shuffling.

It was a strange noise to be sure. Maybe the villagers weren't crazy. It sounded enough like a lizard wandering about to him. Slowly he started making his way inside.

Very slowly.

Halvard didn't want to scare off whatever it was. As soon as his entire body was in the entrance the shuffling increased speed directly at him, followed by a rather annoying voice. "Who do you think you are just wandering into my home? You weren't invited here. I don't invite anyone here." The lizard came right out into the open, standing in front of him and hissing softly. He almost snorted with laughter at the attituide he was getting. "Excuse me? I was sent her to get rid of an annoyance. And I see that I have found it." He huffed at the lizard. "Listen. For real. The villagers don't want you to mess with them anymore. Whatever it is you seem to be doing to them." He sighed a bit then turned his back on her.

"Then I'll go with you."

He blinked and turned to look at the lizard. "Excuse me again. But I'm pretty sure I didn't invite you to come with me anywhere."

"I don't remember giving you an option. I'm pretty sure I told you that I was going. I didn't ask permission." The lizard made her way right up to him and practically attached herself to his leg. The face that Halvard made at that point. It was something someone should have framed.

He has been stuck with her ever since. He has no idea why the lizard deciede that she was going to follow him around everywhere. Heck, he didn't actually find out her name until she had been following him for a solid week. But he has gotten used to it. He just accepts that this is his life for now. Who knows what the furture may hold for the knight and his dragon.

Extra Information: They are going to adventure everywhere together and slowly learn things about the other. Since he is an unwilling participant it will be difficult at first, but he will slowly learn to enjoy her company. She will probably never actually enjoy it. But she finds something interesting about him. There will be a lot of quips and banter between the two. Really just a lot of fun for anyone who isn't them.

Personalities: The knight: The knight is fearless, energetic, and gullible. The dragon is fearsome, proud, and somewhat manipulative.

History/Story: Once upon a time a dragon heard a scuffle in her domain. She sought out the racket, observing stealthily to access the situation. A tiny, newborn flutter was being set upon by two rather ordinary lizards, who rather than putting the thing out of it's misery were taunting it, bringing about pain for the sheer joy of it.

It wasn't the sort of the behavior she tolerated in her domain, and beside that, the foal looked rather tasty for her. Being as it was in her realm, it belonged to her, and the tender meat should go to her before the general rabble.

The two were no match for her, falling swiftly as they were already distracted. It was as she slurped down of their tails that she regarded the foal where it cowered by a flower. Tasty, to be sure, but it was still small. There was no meat on it's bones, and she already had more than enough to eat. Perhaps if it stayed with her, eating the sweet grass in her field, it would be more appealing when she was hungry. She was certainly stronger than it, it could be a useful thing to have about.

"Follow me, there's water nearby." Her tone was brisk, with no room for argument, but some creatures were stupid, so she looked back as she moved toward the small brook nearby. The thing was following her on shaky legs. Good, it was obedient at least.

As it began to grow, for some reason or another the dragon found reasons not to eat it. Him. He was a curious thing, but it meant that he stumbled across plenty of bugs, or could tell her if he came across the trail of a toad or lizard. It wasn't until she was looking up at him during one of his reports that she realized how tall he was. That he could possibly run away from her. Possibly fight her. And perhaps she would not be the winner in her own domain.

Yet, even with that knowledge, she still couldn't bring herself to kill him. Instead she hatched a plan. The first sword was a crude thing, little more than a sharpened stick with another bit of twig tied to it for a handle. Despite that she presented it to him as great formality.

"By accepting this sword, you become my knight. My champion. You will patrol my domain under my blessing, and pledge your allegiance."

He accepted, naturally, his eyes sparkling with that ridiculous emotion that she'd been told was love.

Extra Information: The knight truly does think the dragon has his best interests in mind. He's convinced that she rescued him simply out of the goodness of her heart. His moral code is basically to protect her kingdom, and he doesn't worry about the morality of dispatching any creature that dares to trespass. Or that might make his lady a good snack.
