Challenge rules: 1. Draw every day and ink your drawings. 2. Post it here. You can post daily or post your work in bundles once a week or bi-monthly, as you choose. 3. You may critique and comment on other's art. 4. All art images must be placed in spoilers and adhere to the image size requirements for gaia threads (500px width), otherwise we risk stretching the page.
If you're late to the party, don't worry - take the challenge and post your work here anyway!
Do you? This is my first. I've no idea what to expect! Have you picked a theme yet?
Not really. I try to push myself and draw different things each day but was thinking about drawing one of my oc characters different depending on the prompt for that day. Still not to sure. xP
Its your first year!? That is always exciting~ Inktober is pretty fun and the community is pretty cool also. Have you picked a theme yet? : 3

That's really cool. I think I'd break from stress if I tried that. So curious to see what you'll come up with!
Yokai, sort of. I got that long horizontal watercolour moleskine sketchbook and saw someone who took an A3 page and filled it with drawings for Inktober (instead of a drawing per page), so I thought drawing them all over 2 pages (maybe I'll go onto the next 2 pages too) in like Wylie Beckert, Atelier Sento, Kim Jung Gi style. Mononoke, the anime, is also pretty cool to take inspiration from.
I really miss Mushishi. So I want something soothing but interesting and lively, and subtly creepy. I also selected a lot of yokai with softer personalities. Themes of heartbreak and loneliness, but also mercy and kindness - to lighten the horror and trauma stories a bit. But there are funny ones like the monk who wipes off his face to scare people. I probably laughed too hard at that one.
They don't match the prompts 100%, but I'm looking forward to tell their stories. *excited*
Just.... Have to finish my commissions before then.

Ah I can't wait to do Inktober this year I already have a list written down of what I'm going to do each day; having one OC for each prompt. ^^ Let's hope I actually get every day this year lol

I'm going to start with heads & down to the shoulders + hands, just because that's where I am right now as a beginner and I don't want to divide my attention to everything just yet.
By the way, I love the things you shared in your art diary! Looking forward to reading more of your thoughts.

Are you talking bout inktober or are you referring to the study class?
I would suggest that you forget about hand for the time being, hands are difficult to draw and should be focused on, i drew over thousands of hands, just hands , my teacher said i am verry good with my hands so i may be able to help you there.

Both, ideally. But I think some of my planned Inktober characters will need full bodies - some of them are mermen and such. I'll need to draw hands sooner or later. The thing I struggle with the most is feet... But thanks! I'll use all the help I can get!

Feet are very hard and interestingly enough this was never an assignment however i choice to draw my own feet from time to time, and as a favorite theater for me is ballet i love dancing, watching peoples legs and feet as they do the amazing tricks that they can do. Iv been drawing ballet for years and its some what of a passion for me. It would be interesting to see if there is material on the subject, so many people concentrate on hands, i can't say that iv seen allot of feet drawings at deviant or any where ells, also drawing the male form is just as rare so congrats on that, i will also be working on my male figures, i have no problem drawing them in the nude or any other state its never bothered me, i just like drawing the ladies because of personal choice.

Well, there are plenty of study material on all of that, though. Have you decided on a theme for your Inktober challenge yet?
