"There, it's finished," Kitalpha breathed to herself and sat back on her hooves to admire her handiwork. It had taken months, but her pet project was finished and it looked perfect. To her, at least.

She had been obsessed with one of the plays they had read in class and one character in particular had drawn her mind's eye. During slow periods or whenever she would let her mind wander, Kitty would find herself doodling designs for this character. Finally she had had enough and just started putting it together. She had designed and stitched and secured three costumes for fun.

Her friends thought she was crazy, but she didn't mind. It had helped her figure out exactly what she wanted to do with her life. She had always known she wanted to go into fashion, but not normal fashion. She had always adored plays but not acting in them. So with this project done, it had sparked something inside the Kirin and opened a whole world of options she hadn't thought of before.

Setting her tools aside, Kitalpha grabbed her laptop and surfed the Grendel website until settling on a dual major of Fashion and Stage Design. That would cover costumes, right? If not, she supposed she could switch later to something that would fit better. She already knew some things about fabrics and such, but there was so much more out there she could learn. New techniques and styles that could be applied even to costumes from plays set in the distant past.
