July 4, 2018: The world is not as it always has been. Something has gone horribly wrong. On the night of July 3rd everyone went to sleep expecting to wake into the same world they knew but they were all mistaken. The sun that rose over the sky on July 4th rose over a world thrust into the past. Gotham, Metropolis, Central City and hundreds of others were wiped off the Earth in an instant and replaced with their past equivalents. Heroes and villains were warped into alternate versions of themselves. Versions who grew up in and were nurtured by the west and it's dangers. Yet there are a few who- by either luck or the hand of fate- were immune to the spell that changed the world. It falls on their shoulders to fix it.

The Place: Tombstone
Tombstone seems to be a little bit of everything. It is the one city in the west that everyone remembers and everyone is drawn to at some point in their life. It got the all the crime of a city like Gotham with about the same level of sanitation. Oddly enough it is also the only city in the west that never was in the west. So why is it now?

Known Figures

- Sheriff Kent: The Man of Steel, or so that is what everyone has been calling him since the big wigs in the east sent him to enforce peace and justice in the west. He's been the unopposed Sheriff of Tombstone for years and he was the Sheriff who took the job from Wayne. Sheriff Kent has done a lot of good things for the city and he often uses his power- both literal and figurative- to help the city grow or rebuild following crisis. He's a good man and those are hard to find in the west.

- Deputy Stewart: There isn't much to be said about Deputy Stewart other than he is a faithful servant of the law who keeps and eye on the stars a little more than most people.

- Miss Diana: Diana runs a brothel on the far side of town. Her girls are as beautiful as they are fierce which earned them the nickname 'Amazons' among other names that the less polite folk like to call them. She works with the sheriff to ensure crime stays low by satisfying what she calls "Man's most basic desire."

- Constantine: An occult leader who is being hunted through the city of Salem. He is too good at hiding to be caught but everyone else is too good at hunting for him to stop hiding. Not much else is known about this man.

- The Joker: A clown who could never exist under any other name. The Joker was one of the greatest outlaws in the west. He and Bruce Wayne spent many years in a constant back and forth battle where Wayne would arrest him and the Joker would escape again until one night Wayne missed his mark. The Joker had lit a fire in a saloon and Wayne went in to apprehend him. Wayne aimed for the Joker's shoulder and- with his vision impaired by smoke- hit his heart. He buried the Joker outside of Tombstone and every once in a while people visit his grave to scare their children out of lives of crime.

- Oswald "Swindling" Cobblepot: Never was there a man less innocent than Oswald. He spent his life peddling lies to the good folk of every county he visits and somehow still gets away with it. He isn't any real threat, just kinda an irritation. Like a rash. At least he knows how to survive.

- Alexander Luthor: A rich railway owner who recently bought up some land in Tombstone, Alexander Luthor has done very well for himself. It is no secret that he deals in other goods that some inclined to honor the law may regard as 'illegal' but no evidence has ever been found to give Sheriff Kent enough reason to try and bring in Luthor. With as much money as Luthor had, trouble didn't stick long.

- The Red Hood Gang: The most famous outlaw band in the west. The Red Hood Gang was founded by the Joker who ran the outfit until his untimely death. After he died there was a great struggle for control over the gang and in the end it fell into the hands of Jason Todd. One of Wayne's outlaws who decided that Wayne wasn't going far enough so he had set out to kill the Joker. The Joker, in turn, tortured the man until he broke. Todd has lead the gang to heights the Joker only could have imagined since then however rumors have begun to spread that it is not Jason Todd beneath the mask.

-- Last Night --

"Breath Nathaniel. Breath. The pain won't go away so you have to get over it." Drake instructed as he shimmered into view kneeling beside Nathaniel. Nathaniel was sitting against a building wall behind a dumpster in an alley. His suit was full of holes and wet with his own blood.

"Kiss my a** you spectral s**t!" Nathaniel shouted at Drake which caused him to begin coughing some blood. The coughing died down and Nathaniel began taking deep breaths while the accelerated healing process began. "You always do this! You always count the number of henchmen wrong and I get shot for it!" Nathaniel gripped his bleeding abdomen as a few bullets were pushed out and onto the floor.

"You asked me how many were in the factory. The ones who shot you came from the garage." Drake defended rather passively as Nathaniel tried to smack him but hit only air. "Rest here. I'll wake you if someone comes by." Drake suggested. Nathaniel wanted to tell Drake to go screw himself but the prospect of sleep was beginning to sound very nice. Healing always made him sleepy and the yoga style breathing wasn't helping. So Nathaniel laid back and closed his eyes. Boy was he in for a surprise when he opened them.

-- This Morning --

Nathaniel's eyes fluttered open to a rather unusual sight. Three men in big brimmed hats wearing black coats, vests, jeans and well... honestly it looked like all three of them had just left a cowboy convention and decided to try and rob a sleeping man. The leader, a very strange looking man, was pointing a revolver at Nathaniel who reached up and rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. Even stranger was the fact that the dark alley he had been sitting in was now nothing more than a wooden fence behind what seemed to be a wooden convenience store. It was bright outside and it was hot. The floor was made of dirt and the dumpster that had been hiding Nathaniel was now just a water trough for horses like the three that the men were riding. The leader had dismounted but the two men remained on their horses with rifles pointed at Nathaniel. Nathaniel's first thought was that Mandrake made a crappy guard. "Nice outfit." Nathaniel said to the man pointing the revolver at him. The leader was a bald man and Nathaniel could make out part of a tattoo that seemed to wrap around the man's head but he wasn't sure what it said.

"Shut up." The man growled as he pulled back the hammer on his gun. "Give us your money, your weapons, and anything else valuable that you got." Nathaniel laughed and the man immediately fired a round into Nathaniel's shoulder. "Hand it over or we take it."

"Whoa boss you didn't say nothin about-" One of the henchmen on his horse began to protest but the leader shot him a venomous look.

"We let brats like him laugh and nobody will ever fear the name Julian Day!" The leader shouted his name like he wanted everyone on the street to hear it. Nathaniel laughed again and Julian stomped on Nathaniel's leg to make him stop. It hurt, but irritating the thief was worth it.

User Image Diving deeper and deeper into the deep endless sapphire ocean, the blonde haired individual leaped out of the water, his roped harpoon in hand ready to plunge into his enemies. "I've got you now, Sutton!" he roared out at the villainous cowboy. The Aquaman dodged gunfire and dove back underneath the water on his stead of choice- a warrior dolphin which swiftly avoided the mines in the waters whilst managing to keep Arthur safe as they kept low. Arthur took the reins of his ride and swerved to the right, desperate to catch up to Jim Sutton's speedboat. Sutton by this time had contacted his mercenaries to take care of Aquaman who was riding his tail. They fired their ammo relentlessly into the sea hoping draw out Arthur. And while they failed to hit him, a bullet did manage to hit his dolphin who cried out in pain. Arthur growled in rage and jumped from his ride, swimming through the now misty cloud of blood and burst from the water, soaring over twenty-feet. The mercenaries fired every bit they had left all for their bullets to be reflected as he spun his roped harpoon around. He landed on the right of the boat and dug his harpoon into it causing it to tilt over completely.

Afterwards, he would accelerate with purpose to catch up with Sutton and like a bullet sped through the ocean. He eventually caught up with Sutton and jumped onto his boat where the frightened criminal now scrambled for a weapon to use against him. "A witch! That's what you are. I'll let them know. I'll tell them all what you really are!!" threatened the man. Arthur said nothing at first, as he twirled his harpoon. "Good. And tell them to stay out of the oceans. I rule these parts. You hear? Enjoy your swim back." he wasn't going to kill this pathetic man. He didn't kill. But he didn't have to save him either. He threw his harpoon into the boat's motor causing it to malfunction completely and stop where they were then with a smirk, bid Sutton a farewell.

He pulled the harpoon out of the fan and jumped back into the water, finding his wounded dolphin and petting it. He would live to see another day. Unlikely though Sutton or his men would.

-- Hours later..

"It's far too hot to be on land." he said as he exited the saloon to see an apparent crime in progress. Beer in hand, he was pissed at the fact he would have to intervene. He threw it down hopefully drawing the cowboys' attentions. "Pointing guns at a kid hardly makes you a man. Then again you fellas aren't men are ya? I'll make this easy for you: let him go and this doesn't have to turn into a stand off."

Nathaniel got over the pain in his shoulder and the bullet was out a few moments after it went in but none of the thieves seemed to notice because they had been distracted by a newcomer. Nathaniel looked at the blonde bearded man and recognized his look anywhere. "Whoa, cowboy Aquaman. That's pretty cool. I dig it. Seem weird in the setting though. You know.. desert towns and stuff. Am I at a convention center right now or some-" Before Nathaniel could finish his joke, Julian kicked him in the stomach. Nathaniel still got a good laugh out of it but Julian was too distracted by Arthur to care.

Julian- the leader- stepped in front of the other two and pulled back the hammer of his revolver with his thumb. "You know what day it is?" Julian asked Arthur. The two men on their horses aimed their rifles. "The day you- Aghhh!!!" Right when it seemed like Julian was gonna take his shot, he let out a scream and dropped his gun. His hands reached down to clutch his knee where a glowing blue arrow had pierced it. The arrow quickly faded leaving nothing more than the wound as evidence. Nathaniel sat holding his bow in his hand with minor admiration of what he'd done but he wouldn't have time to admire it for long. The two riders aiming their guns at Arthur aimed them at Nathaniel but he notched two arrows and loosed them into both rider's before they could get a shot off. They slumped back and fell off their horses as the mystical arrows paralyzed them. Julian had received a less kind attack. Nathaniel was turning to shoot Julian with his bow again but he had underestimated how quickly Julian would pick up his gun again and if Arthur did nothing, Nathaniel would get to test how well his powers healed a bullet to the neck.

For Jason Blood, it was a normal day in Gotham, or so he thought. He got up that getting dressed in his usual attire, and walked out of his apartment to get some groceries. Once he got outside it was then it dawned on him he wasn’t in Gotham. He then turned around and noticed he hadn’t walked out from his apartment but rather a hotel from the 1800’s. He looked around trying to catch his bearings whilst he also noted he was in a much warmer climate. He then explored the town he was in and something about it was eerily familiar. It was then when he spotted the saloon he knew where and when he was. He was in Tombstone, he then looked down at himself and saw how was in his 1800’s western get up. How he was reliving his past he did not know. He then would walk into the saloon, and order a drink. And pay the bar keep the few cents it was worth. “Tell me, what day, month and year it is?” He’d inquire to the one serving him the drink.

Bartender

The bartender was a blonde man with a scraggly beard and familiar eyes but Jason would be unaware of why the eyes seemed so familiar. The rest of the face was annoyingly familiar too. Honestly the beard was the only thing that seemed out of place and when he spoke, his accent was out of place too. Well his accent would feel out of place because it was American but the man that Jason saw before him was not. At least Jason would get the feeling he was not. The bartender gave Jason Blood a very odd look when he asked his question but in the end still answered it "1862. July. Friday. What can I get you?" The man turned and gestured towards the alcohols on the back wall and then turned back towards Jason. He didn't seem all the interested in idle chat. In fact it seemed like he was trying to keep his head down.

User Image Arthur looked at the kid with a brow slightly raised then quickly returned his glare onto the men who's leader stepped up to base. A snarky comment was incoming, they never learned unless you made an example out of them. To his question, Arthur remained silent. He didn't flinch because of the man's threat but because of what had whizzed by him. Blue eyes were set on the sapphire arrow piercing the lead cowboy's patella. "Well I'll be," Arthur said, almost wanting to tip his hat off at the kid. It would appear he could handle himself after all. He watched the archer make short work of the two on their stead and inadvertently saved his life. So, it was only right for him to return the favor and the opportunity was primed for him with Julian trying to pick up his firearm. "Not so fast partner." he swung his harpoon through the very hand the cowboy reached out to his gun with. "That look like it hurt." he mocked, snatching the harpoon's head out of his hand and back around his broad shoulders. He turned facing the archer with a smile, "You owe me a beer, kid. You got good moves. Don't know too many guys who could handle a bow and arrow against guns. Especially round these parts. Not too wise to be honest. Then again who am I to judge?" he revealed a smile underneath his thick beard and gestured to his bloodied harpoon's head.

Julian didn't need to know how to read to read the situation he was in- which was good cause he couldn't read. So as soon as he saw a chance he booked it as fast as he could, leaving Aquaman and Nathaniel on their own in the alleyway. Nathaniel would have stopped him but he was getting over the fact that he had just watched a man he assumed to be a weird cosplayer impale another man. Alright. That happened. Nathaniel got to his feet slowly and looked down at his clothes which had not changed from the ones he went to sleep in. He didn't know it but the outfit Mandrake had insisted they wear had pieces which predated the west. As a result they had not been changed when the rest of the world did. Still, aside from some weird looks it wasn't too much of an issue. The bullet holes from the night before were gone leaving only the one where he had been shot in the shoulder but that was fine because he doubted it would be the last time he got shot wherever he was now. He also found himself with a quiver of arrows that he hadn't had when he went to sleep. Most of the time he just conjured arcane arrows and fired them. Aquaman had seen that much. What Aquaman wouldn't see was Mandrake Lo materializing beside him. "There is something wicked at work here. This is the Aquaman. Play along, we must see where this goes." Mandrake claimed while examining Arthur. As usual it was hard for Nathaniel not to comment on what Mandrake had said but he did not. Few knew about the roommate situation in Nathaniel's body and he'd have liked to keep it that way. Then again it wasn't likely to stay secret for long. Especially if what Mandrake had said was true.

"It wasn't too hard. All the guns were pointed at you." Nathaniel finally replied as he dusted himself off. His shoulder had already healed but Arthur wouldn't notice if he wasn't looking at it. "Thanks for the help but I think that-" Nathaniel walked passed Arthur out into the main street of Tombstone and immediately realized that his plan to just get back to his house was not an option. "Well... s**t..." He mumbled as he looked around. Drake was right. This was bad. The town seemed to be primarily build around a single street with buildings on either side of it. There was a bank, a general goods store, a sheriff's office at the very end, a train station at the very other end, some houses and other assorted shops, and then two rather large buildings directly across from each other. One was the saloon Jason Blood was in and the other was Miss Diana's brothel. "Alright so then if I was going to buy you that beer where would I go?" He asked as he turned back to face Arthur.

Jason looked over the drinks and the man serving them. The man h knew he remembered from somewhere, but couldn’t place where. What also Jason could remember is that this man wasn’t the man he remembered serving at this saloon. At least he pretty sure thought he remembered there being a different person. The year did match however, what he did remember of the place. It means some how he went back in time to relive his past. But either his memory was off on how he remembered things (which he couldn’t rule out as a possibility given how old he was), or somethings were out of place and that someone was mucking up with his past. First thing he needed to do was figure out how he ended up from being from in Gotham 2018 to Tombstone 1862. “I’ll have a whiskey please.” Jason requested. He then decided to inquire about his bartender. “So I don’t seem to remember seeing in these parts before. Are you a new hire? What also threw Jason off is the barkeep sounded differently from what he remembers or rather the voice didn’t match face of what was familiar and what wasn’t. As such he still couldn’t place where he recognized the man from.

User Image Kid had a pair on him and jokes. Maybe he wasn't too bad after all. Arthur gave a small smile at his thank you. "Don't mention it." he returned in reply. The archer suddenly left their conversation abruptly and Arthur's eyes followed. Maybe there was more trouble after all. What had he gotten himself into? Wondered the fisherman. The tense moment was broke up by the boy who turned and asked where he could pay his debt. "My man." Arthur happily said. "Tavern's right here. Best in all the town. I know the bartender though so keep your money. I look out for him and he does the same for me. I appreciate the gesture. Show what kind of a man you are. Your old man raised you right. Follow me." Aquaman said, turning on a heel to face and enter through the tavern doors. Inside, were a bunch of fellas laughing and carrying on. Some whistled at the maidens while they poured their drinks and others took part in dart throwing.

Bartender

"I've been here a while. Maybe you don't drink enough." The bartender replied as he poured Jason's whiskey. Once it was done he set it in front of Jason and went back to the other end of the bar where he had a book. He would have liked to read a few words from the pages of that book but before he could none other than the Aquaman and a guy in a dope hoodie walked into his bar. He and Arthur had a special arrangement that amounted to 'I give you free boos, you keep people off my back.' It was a deal he had made out of necessity. He knew what Arthur liked and poured two glasses before either of them could reach the counter. When the kid in the hoodie took of his hood at the counter the bartender seemed to quickly move back over to Jason. "Anything else?"

Meanwhile...

Having walked into the bar with his new friend and taken a seat at the counter, Nathaniel was still trying to figure out what exactly was going on. He looked out of place and wasn't ignorant to the few people who had noticed. Most seemed not to care but also didn't particularly seem interested in being near the weirdly dressed guy. Nathaniel had a thousand questions but fortunately Drake was walking around the building to try and find answers. Drake could interact with the material world but if he did he'd become visible and it would begin to drain on Nathaniel's energy. So the odds were that he would only be able to gather information he could plainly see. Until he got back from his search, Nathaniel wouldn't have to hear his voice. "So what do you do exactly?" Nathaniel asked Arthur to break the silence. Nathaniel generally hear about Aquaman from the news and he noted the very specific part of his name that seemed to imply a preference for the aquatic. It made him wonder what Arthur was doing all the way out here. Tombstone didn't seem to be anywhere near any large bodies of water as far as Nathaniel had seen.

Jason would take a swig if his whiskey and look to the tender inquisitively, when the tender made it sound like he’s always been there. Which didn’t fit with at all how Jason remembers this time line. And the man did seem familiar but out of place. He was trying to investigate why he was reliving his past and why only the place and setting seemed way he remembered it but not it’s people. Like the barkeep for example, Jason was pretty sure should have a British accent. That much Jason remembered, of the man.

There also was the possibility he wasn’t reliving it but traveled back in time, where there could be two Jason Blood’s, which he wasn’t drunk enough to even cope with that notion and dismissed as soon as it aroused. He also rationalized it away with the fact he doesn’t know anything about time travel and that was some other super hero’s expertise. As these thoughts fleeted away he’d finish his glass of whiskey. “Another please.” He requested, knowing this investigation was going to take a lot of effort.

It was then Jason noticed the Saloon’s new comers. Which again people he doesn’t remember ever being here even though Arthur was someone who seemed to be regular. Especially with Nathaniel wearing clothes not from this Era but the one Jason remembers being from. The spell was losing its hold on Jason, and only reason it affected him was the confusion between his reality of his past and what ever reality this one was. Jason finally remembered the bar keep’s name, and exclaimed out loud, “John! You’re John Constantine! And you don’t belong here! Well don’t belong in this history.” Whoever has been toying with Jason’s past and his friends would soon pay, but first he had to find out if he actually was in his own past or if this was more akin to an illusion.

Arthur hadn't answered Nathaniel's question but he wouldn't get the chance to. Many things happened at once but it all started when Jason Blood proclaimed John Constantine's name. The saloon fell silent, the piano man stopped playing, and all eyes shifted to Jason and John. Even Nathaniel was drawn from his conversation and his attention shifted. John suddenly seemed to be on a back pedal. "You've lost your mind friend." John started but didn't get much out before a patron chimed in. "Wait a minute he's right! Somebody go get-" A gunshot broke through the air and the patron who'd been speaking went silent. The shot came from a new comer. A man wearing a hat of two colors but a man who had a much more notable feature. Harvey Dent was known around these parts as one of the most dangerous bounty hunters. He'd lost half of his face to the same bar fire the killed the Joker while he was trying to steal the capture from Wayne. One of his men had identified John a bit earlier and gone out to get him. Now Jason had confirmed that agents report. Dent shot his gun in the air the first time but now had it trained on Constantine. "Don't make a scene. My boys got this place surrounded. You're coming with me." Dent pulled a pair of shackles from his belt and tossed them at John. They landed on the counter bd slid a bit but John didn't put them on. "You're making a mistake-" John tried to negotiate but it wouldn't get him anywhere. Not here. Dent cocked his pistol and Nathaniel saw the look in his eye. Dent was going to shoot John. It felt like time slowed for Nathaniel as options raced through his head. He couldn't talk to Mandrake in the middle of the saloon, and especially not while he was right next to Arthur. Not that Arthur seemed very responsive. Nathaniel panicked and did what seemed right at the time. He forgot he was in the west and that nothing could really be what it seemed. Just as Dent squeezed down on the trigger, the spectral Mandrake Lo materialized in front of him and pushed the gun upwards causing Dent to miss John entirely.

"Witchcraft!" Another patron yelled before chaos truly erupted. Dent punched the spectral Mandrake who seemed unfazed. Mandrake put his hand on Dent's chest and then pushed causing Dent to fly backwards through the saloon doors and into the muddy street outside. Dent rolled around and got back onto his feet as the saloon goers began to flood out the front door crying that one word 'witchcraft!' John seemed surprised for a moment at what had occurred but that surprise faded quickly and he pulled a Winchester rifle off the wall and took cover behind the bar. "Oh hell, Jason you just can't keep your bloody mouth shut!" John's false accent slipped away immediately and gunfire began tearing through the building. Dent had ordered his men to fire and Nathaniel had hopped over and hid behind the bar as well.

Jason then immediately hopped over and behind the counter. “You could’ve told me it was you!” He said from behind the counter in the heat of battle. Jason knew at this point his friend John wasn’t influenced by whatever was screwing with Jason’s past, and everyone’s present. Jason then reached up over the edge with his hand casting a spell himself. He figures at this point s**t had already hit the fan and things couldn’t get worse than they were already. He yelled “Away!”, the spell he conjured would be a wall of air and force, it’s purpose was to knock those present from the other side of the counter on to their asses, to buy himself, John and their unknown ally more time. And again in the midst of the chaos, “So can you please tell me what the hell is going on?!” Knowing full well John wouldn’t be able to answer his question right away.

"I'd like an update too!" Nathaniel shouted from a bit away before shuffling across the ground towards the two sorcerers. John was the one who accidentally made Nathaniel what he was but John didn't know if Nathaniel knew. All the same John was not going to be the one to bring up that secret history. Jason's spell aided a few of the patrons in their escape but Two-Face's Gang hadn't started making their way back into the saloon yet so it didn't push them back.

"If I knew I wouldn't be playing bartender mate." John replied as he loaded the rifle. "I woke up and found myself in cowboy country with a price on my head." John could have cast any number of spells to get them out of the area but it wasn't his way. John popped up from behind the counter for a moment and took aim at the swinging saloon doors as the goons began piling in. A few had already tossed over tables and taken cover behind them but the ones coming through the door had no cover so John put some bullets into them. When the goons behind the table popped out to shoot John ducked back behind the bar. There were ten gang members total including Dent himself. Dent was moving around the back with four guys and the other five had tried to come in through the front door. Two were in cover behind two different tables. One was now dead on the ground, and one was hiding behind the entryway. John's face shimmered slightly and his beard vanished. No point in the disguise now. "It could be worse. At least we know this isn't real." John shouted over the sound of incoming gunfire. Nathaniel was still thinking over what he wanted to do and so he'd sent Mandrake to look around the building for exits. It left him without powers while Mandrake searched but it was the only way to move around without getting shot.
