Rodeo Life - Maybelle grew up in a rural area near Destiny City and was a farmhand for as long as she could remember. She eventually grew into the rodeo life as part of taking care of her mother's horses and delights to show off her guns underneath a feminine exterior. As such, she's used to the muck and chore list that came with the lifestyle and is comfortable around a variety of animals as well as being spotlighted.
Shitty Romance Novels - What can she say, there's something fun about inflicting terrible synonyms for sex on herself. May sometimes blogs about the more choice selections, which can devolve into rants about why this is bad and you should feel bad if the writing is particularly egregious or problematic.
Virtues:
Nurturing - May is the mom friend: she's got bandages and pain pills in her huge purse, she's ready to bring snacks to get-togethers, and she's here for when the times are toughest. The world can let you down, but she promises she never will, with a kind hand and some colorful language towards the wrong-doer.
Passionate - A day can't be dull when she's around. Maybelle has A Lot of Feelings and is happy to share them, be it through talk or through shared activities. She has the energy to do her civilian job, handle a friend's problem, do her nega job, and still think about how to prepare dinner later that day. Flaws:
Invasive - She doesn't think she knows best, she knows. It's obvious that her advice is tops and you should be listening to her. What do you mean she's being nosy? She's just looking out for you, sweetie! Someone needs to! Maybelle often toes the line between friendly advice and commanding someone to do what she says, and the worst part is because she really and truly cares.
Short-tempered - May tries, she really does, but sometimes getting under her skin can be just a bit too easy. And when this girl's angry, it's there to stay for quite a while. It's not always an explosive temper, as sometimes it's the passive aggressive, maliciously compliant kind. Oh she'll do what you say, but she'll do her best to make you regret asking her to. "Kill them with kindness."
