Even though her mission in life was supposed to be that of the Negaverse, Renna was still struggling to make sense of her place there, even after all this time. She had been in high school when they got her, and now, she was nearing the end of college with no greater sense of direction, not really, from when she began. If Marthozite could see her now, he would not be proud. The only thing she seemed remotely capable of was generating a modest presence as a social media influencer. Renna was painfully careful not to lay it on too thick, but had found that she had a lot more success behind the keyboard subtly shading "those weird-skirted evil cheerleaders" than she did as an officer on the battlefield. Today, however, was really more about fun. It was a sunny Wednesday, and the partly cloudy sky was casting some gorgeous light on the street. Renna was skipping her way over to a coffee stand to wait for a friend from school, Genevieve. They had bumped into each other socially and hit it off when both of them judged a pack of girls who left a clearly drunk friend of theirs at the bar, alone, past midnight. They nearly crashed into each other walking over to see if the girl needed help, and in the process of shuffling her out to an Uber, ending up chatting for another hour and exchanging social media information. Renna had liked Genevieve's dress and was delighted to hear she had made some alterations to it herself. A lunch date was set for shopping, and since then, they had become casual friends. Today, fashion was also on the menu. In order to add more content, Renna had taken to posting street-style pictures taken around downtown DC. Normally she featured herself, but loved including friends. Giving Genevieve's fashionable eye, she had invited the other girl to bring three different outfits for them to snap some shots around town. A nice cross post to Snapchat, Twitter, and Instagram -- and bam! Clickable content. Renna had arrived a few minutes early and took a minute to adjust her twists leading up into a high poofy bun. She had on asymmetrical hoop earrings, and a bohemian sundress that was not her usual style but fit the summer vibe. Peep toe booties and long layered necklaces finished off the look. It was barely 9AM -- better to hit the streets after rush hour but before their classes began -- so Renna ordered up two coffees and waited for Genevieve to arrive, idly scanning her phone for the latest news.

Genevieve didn't like the heat, it made her make up look atrocious, but today wasn't too hot - her make up would survive. That was a good thing because she was going out shopping and that normally, when by herself, could take a while. When she was out with someone else....all bets were off. Today she was meeting a friend, a really good friend in fact, and she was planning to shop!
They hadn't met how most people did, at a party or in classes, but rather they'd both met while they both tried to help a poor drunk girl who had been left alone by her giggling friends...who really weren't friends - clearly. Renna had been of a similar mind to her and after sitting down they'd become fast friends, the bar tender had even been smiling at them as they talked for and hour or more that night.
Since then they talked a lot and hung out, it was nice to spend time out with Renna as they both had a good amount in common. Unlike Jada, who was another one of her good friends who was quite the social butterfly, Renna was not a senshi or involved in the war...at least to her knowledge. So it meant talks of such things were off the table, she didn't want to risk telling an innocent civilian friend and finding out something she'd rather not find out....there would be no way to undo it once done.
With Renna's simple request to bring three outfits, for Genevieve such a request was not abnormal, she had taken her time in dressing up as she knew it was for a photoshoot of sorts. The other wanted to do street style pictures so she had to be ready; she didn't want to let her friend down. That resulted in some light make up that looked rather natural, the light pinkish hues on her eyes accented by a gold tone, her dress was in a tea rose...maybe peach color with a slender s;ash of golden silk tied at the waist to bring it in and accentuate the waist. The jewelry was gold as well while the shoes and her bag were more of a cream color. Her dark hair was down long and in loose waves, it took forever to get her hair to do anything but hang straight.
It was because of her hair, and how long that took, which had her arriving at the meeting spot just a minuet or two late. In a bit of a rush, though making it somehow look less rushed, or at least less messy, she had two outfits in garment bags with her. "I really wish my hair would make curls and waves a bit easier to get." She started off, because how else would she start off a conversation?
While she spoke of her hair, her way of greeting Renna, Genevieve took the time to look her friend over and smiled. "You look good - really good. Not your usual but it works well."

Renna turned at the sound of Genevieve's voice and smiled widely, bringing the girl in for a quick sidehug. She passed a coffee to her hands. "Nothing in it -- I couldn't remember how you took your coffee. Bad friend, total loss of friend points," she said, eying the bag in the other girl's hand and giving a spin at the sound of the compliment on her own outfit. "If what you have in there is only a quarter of how good you look now, I think we are in business!" Just two girls trading compliments, the usual.
"I spied an alley around the corner with some cool looking graffiti. I figure we'll start there once you've had a second to breathe." In truth, Renna liked the alley because someone had spray painted a large image of a nondescript senshi in a green and white uniform with x's over its glowing red eyes and RESIST scrawled in neon pink paint across the stomach. Under the feet it appeared that the senshi was stomping on the DC skyline.
But first, pleasantries! "So drink your coffee first -- thank you for agreeing to meet in the morning -- and update me on your life. How is everything?" Not exactly a heart to heart, but small talk was easy for Renna.

"No friend points reduced. And sugar and some vanilla are good in mine." Saying that she returned the others hug and then turned to get the sugar, and the small shaker of vanilla powder, and added a good bit of sugar and a small bit of vanilla to her drink. Giving it a good stir she took a sip and leaned into the others side a bit. "You know I have only the best outfits." Even if it meant it wasn't always designer, because some designers just did not make good choices in patterns or styles. This year....some outfits she really had wondered about when looking over various runway shows, she did it every year though.
"You know I'll never turn down meeting you, especially if it's to help you with your photography and to go out shopping." It was an easy answer and was followed by a bright smile, and another sip from her drink. Oh it was nice and warm and sweet and so good - so very good.
"I'm good. The fair they had over at the university, that summer fourth of July week long event...well I couldn't help myself. I already have five cats...and they had a set up of animals needing adoption....I really couldn't help myself." Almost whining as she hoped her friend understood just what she'd done...and why. "I sort of...maybe...adopted three kittens - siblings. I just didn't want to see them all apart."
Another sip of her drink and she was motioning for the other to lead the way. "Let's see this alleyway you have in mind. And honestly...not much else has really been going on in my life. The usual things to be honest." Which meant university, cats, her parents coming home late or being out of town on business, shopping and the other usual mundane things. She couldn't mention senshi things, though really that was lacking lately as well. She needed to get back to that...maybe call Jada soon or talk to Christa.

Whoa. "Three more kittens?" Renna did a terrible job hiding her shock. "You're going to need to buy a farm at this point. Seriously! And a caretaker." In her mind, she imagined mountains and mountains of litter-speckled cat s**t piling up in every corner of a room. Personally, Renna was more of a dog person, but she hadn't been able to summon up the courage to buy one. She hated the idea of it being alone when she was out at school by day and Nega-ing by night. She had no idea how Genevieve managed it all and said so: "I don't know how you manage." They made their way to the alley and Renna set her coffee cup down on the ledge of a windowsill. She motioned for Genevieve to stand slightly off-center in front of the graffiti, snapping a few test shots. "I think it'll look best from a low angle," she said, dropping to a careful squat in her dress and aiming the camera up toward Genevieve. "Let's get a couple of you looking squarely at the camera, doing that dead-eyed model thing." She snapped away, trying to frame the graffiti as clearly as she could. Sleet Tempest Snape Renna is going to give her the camera after she takes more photos of her so they can switch places after taking a handful of shots. Feel free to write that in your post to keep the action moving forward!

"A caretaker maybe but not a farm." She lived in a big enough home, it was more than big enough. "Honestly it felt empty with just the five." It was one of those homes where even if everyone was home you might not notice at first, it was just that big. "I don't know if I'll notice the difference too much...but I really didn't want to see them all split up." And she hadn't really been able to help herself, she had a soft spot for the furballs.
"A big house, litter boxes all about, and enough time to wander about and clean them all twice a day." When you had enough litter boxes tucked away, hidden away from most peoples sight, it meant most didn't see much actions so each one didn't get used a lot, meaning less smell in rooms which housed a litter box. She also had a lot of scratching posts, towers, and other various toys and needs for them. Everything was scattered about the house in various rooms so no fights broke out over things. There was plenty to go around.
When they got to the alley she did notice the lovely art someone had spray painted there, how could she not? It was....not really offensive but it was a touch bothersome. Nothing that really put her off. It wasn't like her friend picked this alleyway due to that, like she agreed with the message. It was, in hr opinion, just her friend looking for something unique and colorful - which it certainly was.
"Maybe even a shot with the coffee in hand?" She questioned, already setting her coffee aside for the moment, she had modeling to do after all. "Low angle I think is a good option, I see what you're going for." And she did - it would look amazing. It wasn't a look which came naturally to her but it was one she could pull off with a fair amount of ease. "Do you want snob as well?" She asked, already lifting her head a bit and shifting her facial expression just a bit.
It was when Renna was done with her that Genevieve took the camera to have her turn at picture taking. "Mmmm....you have a bohemian look so maybe something soft nothing too aggressive or dominate...something almost thoughtful?" Unlike her friend who, who was better at this than she was, she took pictures from several angles. They could find the best ones later - right?

Posing wasn't necessarily a passion of Renna's, but she knew that this was a simple, easy way to boost her presence. She grabbed the camera back from Genevieve and perused some of the shots. Solid stuff. She sent her two favorites, one of Genevieve and one of her to her phone. "Time to tweet a teaser," she said. Grabbing one where Genevieve was pulling a sort of mean-mug look, Renna uploaded it with a caption: Summer style in the downtown DC light! #graffitigospel #dontbeabadguy Subtle, she thought. Just... call the senshi a bad guy and move on. Right? With a click and a whir it was flashed off to post on her account. Purple eyes popped back up to the other girl. "Why don't you throw on the next outfit and we'll keep it rolling?" Sleet Tempest Snape May be good to speed this up so it doesn't drag -- in your post, you could summarize that they got through all the photos and then at some point Genevieve spots the negative hashtag? What do you think?

"Sounds like a good idea." Tweeting out a teaser was most certainly a good idea, one Genevieve was on board with. "Why don't you send those to my phone and I'll tweet them out also." Since she had her own fair share of friends on twitter, she liked to friend everyone she could on twitter. She was a social butterfly both in person and on social media; she really couldn't help it.
With the others words spoken, and knowing the pictures would be sent to her phone to tweet, Genevieve went to find a place to change before she could return for the next set of pictures to be taken. The same process was followed as before, and repeated even a third time with the third outfit she had brought for herself.
It was a whirlwind of a morning, and afternoon, as they got the pictures taken and she had posted some while Renna had posted others. The tweets had been posted so they could spread around social media. Genevieve's navy eyes hadn't seen the responses yet and how they may, or may not, have taken off on social media. She wasn't expecting anything viral, she was not that popular, but she was hoping to get them spread about amongst those she followed and around the local area as well.
"We should get some food and then hit up that shopping? I think the pictures took a while." They had gotten caught up in it - and who wouldn't? It was fun!
"Maybe something light; since it's hot out?" She offered, tapping a foot on the pavement, holding onto the garment bags still, as she pondered what was nearby that fit the idea for lunch.
While she did that her finger kept moving down her twitter feed before pausing as she landed on a picture, one she'd also posted to twitter, but this one was from Renna's account and with slightly different hashtags...ones which had Genevieve really well...uncomfortable but also wondering what her friend was trying to say...there had to be a message there. Renna didn't say things for nothing, at least not when it came to these sorts of things.
"Those pictures came out good - really good. I didn't hashtag mine the same....should I have? I mean if there was a message we were going with I didn't know." How else to approach the topic, and figure out what was up? She hoped this didn't blow up...she really did, she also hoped her friend wasn't attacking senshi somehow.Akina Tokuwa Let me know if this works.

The day had gone well, and the girls were lightly debating where to go to grab food. Renna was subtly hashtagging just a couple photos in the bunch, nothing too suspicious, but she was going through a liking particularly funny anti-senshi responses in the comments. lookmahnohands 2 minutes ago real girls over evil cheerleaders, u rule, one of them blew up my train station, was late for 2 ks! Like.Renna was so engrossed in her phone that she didn't notice at first what Genevieve had said. "The hashtag? Oh yeah, definitely use it," she said. "I think it really fit with the graffiti for that one. Art and a message. People need a little more than a pretty photo to sink their teeth into." She kept walking, scrolling through more photos and oblivious to any unease on her friend's part.

"Mmm, how about I use a different hashtag..." Already she was tapping one out on her own phone before hitting send. #GirlPower #SuperGirl That sent she smiled to the other, showing Renna her tweet.
"I think this fits as well." Better than the others comment, much better in her opinion. "The graffiti was a good backdrop to the photoshoot - it was unique. I can't picture finding something like that in any other place." Since their city was the only place with senshi, knights, and more roaming around.
"This city is rather special and unique. I'm not sure it's always a good thing though." She really wished her parents lived elsewhere at times, she really worried about them here. This city was unique, for sure, but it was unsafe.
"Oh! And how about here for lunch?" She asked, after taking back her phone and pulling up her idea, a nearby cafe.

Renna was smiling happily at her friend. At least, until she saw the hashtag. The light dimmed in her eyes. "Super Girl?" she said, scoffing a bit. "You don't really mean that, do you?" Talk of lunch was a bit forgotten.

"I would think they are. They seem rather capable and like super heroes would be - don't they." She didn't think of herself as some sort of super hero, far from it, but she had to come up with something. They had magic, or super powers as some might say, and they did what super heroes did so why not use super girl. "What makes them not super hero like?" Did her friend dislike the senshi for some reason? She could have had some bad experience, somehow, and now had a thing against senshi. It was a possibility given the cities issues and most civilians not having a clue about the different factions in the city. So maybe it was even a bad interaction with the Negaverse...maybe even a corrupted senshi. All were really possibilities.
"Bad experience with them?" Time to perhaps find out...maybe, she hoped. She was curious now, she also now knew she could never tell her friend about herself.

Super heroes? Renna stilled. Is that really what Genevieve thought? It pained her to think that a friend of hers might value the other side. Look, Renna could understand. She didn't always agree with the methods her compatriots used, but this was war. The senshi were not of Earth -- so why allow them to take it, ruling over them? "They destroy the city," she said, aiming to keep it simple. "I have seen some of them control water, shoot fire, make people sick. People get hurt, all the time, because of them. How many people have died as a result of their fighting? It's not natural." There was so much more that Renna wanted to say, but she couldn't risk revealing she knew too much. Sleet Tempest Snape Short works! Mine was tiny.

"They all do. They're all terrorists but super heroes also in the sense of having powers, which they all clearly have. I kind of wish I had some sort of power also, it would be neat." She had powers, dealing with bats, she just sort of sometimes wished she had cooler powers.
"I mean then again it could be something like x-men or something." She wasn't one for comic books but she had seen the movies, they'd been good actually. "It could be super heroes who are causing damage not meaning to. I mean the super heroes in movies seem to do damage without meaning to and wanting to."

Renna fixed Genevieve with a serious glance. "So in your book everyone's a good guy? Even with the lives lost and damage done?" She shook her head. "I'm sorry, Genn, but that just doesn't make sense. If you're a terrorist, how can you also be a hero? It feels like the city would be a lot more peaceful without any magical girls wielding power over the rest of us. Sure, it would be cool to control an element or whatever in theory -- who didn't grow up debating whether they'd rather be able to turn invisible or fly or whatever? But in practice? I mean, in reality? If you got a power, it wouldn't be like the fun X-Men. It would be like Logan -- just a lot of gruesome death, except this time you would be involved. You could be the one that ends up killing." A beat of silence passed. Renna suppressed a shiver. The idea of Genevieve actually wanting to be a senshi made her feel ill. The Negaverse wouldn't need to exist if the senshi didn't. They wouldn't need to protect the planet from those aliens if the aliens would just go back to their homes and leave Earth alone. Why couldn't her friend see that?
