Adding the finishing touches to her assignment, Sariah sighed as she put her pencil down, turning her head away from the papers neatly stacked on her desk. Getting up from the chair, her eyes swept around her dorm room before landing on a somewhat large picture frame.
Slithering over to her bedside table, she picked up the picture frame and looked down at what it contained.
It was her family, taken shortly before she left for Leviathan. Her Mother, mama, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, and their children.
Being the eldest of 14, it was expected that she stay and help care for her younger siblings. Her parents were quite surprised when she chose to leave home to pursue her dreams of being a Healer.
But.....she was lonely...so very lonely.
Setting the frame down, she sighed again as she looked at her sleeping familiars.
When she was little, something happened that caused her to be afraid of being alone. Sure, having her familiars helped alleviate that fear, but it just wasn't the same. She didn't really know her classmates that well, nor did she have any friends and significant other....
Looking at a picture of scene of stone imbuing, Sariah had a thought....Maybe having a little one to care for would alleviate that feeling of loneliness?
Sitting on her bed, she thought some more about it. Did she really want to do this?...Yes, yes she did want to. Could she care for a little one while continuing her classes?....Of course she could! If she helped take care of her 13 younger siblings and many younger cousins, then she could do this!
Nodding her head, her resolve hardened. She could do this.
