Scribes studying late in to the evening was not uncommon in the vast caverns of the quartz caverns. Tirion'Manu had been writing a few things down on one of the hide scrolls and had lost track of time. There was no outside light source from with in the cavern that held the vast majority of the prides scrolls so it was very hard to tell the passing of time. A long yawn from the gray lion was the only indication that maybe it was late with in the cavern. Sleepiness started to set its claws on Tirion the moment his yawn had escaped. "Well s**t... I guess its late," He started to roll up his scroll so it could be understated until the morning. " .......... L-liiiiiiii---------gh-------------t............he-----------.............bl-oooooo-oooooooooooo.......................da........." Something responded to him and it didn't quite sound like it was coming from any living source that Tirion had recognized. Maybe some one was playing a trick or he was hearing the sounds of a conversation twisted by the curves of the cavern? The logical side won out and Tirion went ahead to assume that. Never mind the fact that the cavern had noticeably gotten a little chilly since the sound. "... Anyone ... there?" Tirion called out in to the darkness of one of the caverns.

 Kamau was heading in from his last patrol of the evening handing the graveyard shirt of patrol off to another lion, he was heading towards his sleeping area when he heard someone calling out Anyone there? He also heard some faint sounds he thought perhaps were cubs or other lions whispering in the dark cavern. He didn't think anything strange of it at first. As he drew closer to the voice that had sounded the clearest. He was a white form moving slowly towards whoever it was. It didn't occur to him to mention himself to the other lion. He figured he would make greetings once he got closer. "Trition?" He said once he was within a few feet of the other lion. "What's wrong?"

There was now sounds of paw steps through the cavern but they didn't sound eerie like the voice before it. A voice followed but it wasn't eerie either and sounded more based in this plane of existence but it said something that Tirion wasn't too found of. Triton. He had a few guesses who was behind that voice but he was too relieved to be angry about that right now. "Kamau?" He greeted. The pale lion standing before him very well could be a spirit lurking with in the cavern with his pale complexion. Tirion padded up to him quite too relieved to correct the wrong name. "Thank the gods its you. I think I ... did you hear anything?" He looked quite concerned. "I swear I heard a ... voice... But it was strange.."

He nodded but he wasn't sure if Trition could see him in the low light so he said "Yes it is me." He considered the sounds he had heard. "I heard something faint as I was coming in from my last patrol but I wasn't sure what it was, I thought it was merely lions in the cavern who had not gone to sleep yet. Do you think we have an intruder in the caverns." His fur ruffled the very idea that someone had gotten past him and invaded the cavern ruffled Kamau's fur in a very unpleasant way. "If there is something that does not belong in the caverns I will find it." He said firmly.

"..." It hadn't occurred to Tirion that there could be an intruder. Was it possible an intruder could get with in their caverns? Tirion supposed it was entirely possible and Kamua would know more about the dangers of this than he. "You think they fell and got hurt with in the caverns? Maybe they are calling for help." This could be a rescue mission or a search for some one up to no good. " .........loooo..........QQQQQ...............SHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..." The voice carried with it a very cold wind through the tunnels. Tirion froze on the spot and looked to Kamua. "Yes.. An.. Intruder?"

Kamau frowned considering what might be going on he didn't like it one bit. "We need to search the caverns, we can't be too sure, I don't want to wake the others, will you come with me in case we do find someone hurt?" Even an intruder didn't deserve to die hurt and alone somewhere in the caverns. "That broken sound, if it is an intruder they must be badly hurt." He said firmly still not thinking of anything supernatural.

Tirion didn't like the idea of navigating these caverns for some reason but he gave a curt nod. He'd never allow some one to wander alone because he was too afraid. For some reason Tirion did not like the sounds of the voice he was hearing or the sudden coldness hes was feeling. "Right." He nodded, "Could you... lead the way. I'll make sure I have your back." Tirion's sister may have been a high Chevalier but he was a scribe and there was a reason he decided a life of learning.

Kamau nodded "Thank you." He nodded once again and fluffed his cold fur strange it hadn't felt cold outside and it hadn't rained today so why was it so chilly in the cavern tonight? He shook his head trying to gather his wits about him they had a job to do and Trition had agreed to go with him so he didn't have to find any of the other Chevaliers to help him search the caverns. He moved forward towards where he thought he was hearing the voice coming from.. "Call out if you are there!!" He said in a steady voice. Not yelling since he didn't want to wake everyone in the cavern. He was determined though to find whoever was in the caverns. He thought he saw a glimmer of something in the darkness, but how could that be??

Tirion'manu followed closely after Kamua as the two lions navigated the complex twist and turns of the cavern. The paler lion called out in to the darkness and while there was no verbal response there had been something visual that blipped in to existence. A light and it seemed that it wasn't a glowing crystal. Tirion backed a step away from the now floating light in front of them. The area was growing colder by the second and it gave Tirion the heeby geebz. "What the hell?" He felt the words dry the back of his throat as he asked the question. ".......aeeeeee.........sseeeee...............kiuee.................arrrrrrrr........ARRRRRRRR!" The voice seemed to be coming from the direction of the light. Tirion wanted to back up more but his nerves wouldn't allow that. He was stuck in place.

Kamau wasn't sure what to do, his first instinct was to rawr and get everyone out of the cavern to protect them but it was merely a yelling light. As far as he knew that had never happened before. Then again he was pretty sure there had never been a glowing ocean before. They had determined it was nothing harmful. So Kamau decided to take the risk on his pelt and moved through the cold cavern towards the ball of light. "Have you seen anything like this Trition?" His tone was soft. Then he swiped at the glowing orb of light with his paw to see if it would disappear so they could both get some darn sleep. If this was the source of the sound there wasn't a lion in the caverns they didn't know. Screaming ball of light the very nerve of it. What were the gods thinking?

Tirion was too preoccupied with a screaming ball of light floating towards them to really get mad at the Triton comment. He was too busy thinking of plausible escape routes but failing to move any part of his body to execute any plan of action. "....I've never seen or heard anything like it. I don't like it and I think we should go..." It was not his job to be brave. It was his job to write things down.

Kamau batted at the screaming ball of light making it disappear "Alright now we can go." He said simply "I'll have to talk with the other chevaliers about this matter, no one will get any rest if we have screaming balls of light in the caverns."

Five more lights appeared around the males. They were not screaming but there was an uncomfortable feeling of dread that the two should move on. "Uh..." Tirion backed up. "S-sorry but ... We ... lets..uh ... leave"

Kamau frowned deeply "Alright come, you are right we need to speak with the others if I make one disappear and five more appear we have a problem. Go in front of me I will cover our retreat." He said. He didn't like retreating but he had a scribe to protect and didn't have many choices right now.

"I-I'll be sure to write things down..." There was no argument from Tirion about the lights and retreating. As instructed, he was quick to exit as quickly as he could while being quite grateful that Kamua was there to have his back. This was a terrible phenomenon to have in the caverns. Had the glowing waters actually been a curse?
