He had a date.
To put it more succinctly - and accurately - he had kind of a date. He had the possibility of a date, and yes, the girl he'd met at the old school arcade hadn't really said a date, and all she'd done was given him her phone number, there was still the future knowledge of a date.
Noah slid his thumb sideways to unlock his phone as he strolled down the crowded Destiny City sidewalk, weaving haphazardly around the passers by and ignoring the ones he bumped into. He was looking at the scrap of paper with the girl's - Petra's - number, tapping it in carefully, then hit dial and held the phone up to his ear.
It rang once, twice, then -
"PSYCHE. You've reached the HANGUP HOTLINE. Too bad, loser, she didn't give you her real number, sorry to b - "
Noah jerked the phone away from his ear, gave it an outraged look, and hastily hit end call. He felt a welling sense of disbelief and mingled annoyance because who wouldn't want to date him - and then wondered if she had accidentally given him the wrong number and she'd actually meant to give him her real number.
She'd seemed so interested in him too. Noah exhaled a breath in a long sigh, head bowed, still scrolling through his phone, his feet in their very nice looking loafers padding along of their own accord down the sidewalk.
He wasn't looking where he was going. Which meant that as someone stepped out of a small coffee shop, Noah, his coppery auburn hair falling over his eyes, smacked straight into them with a small oof of surprise and a squawk as something hot cascaded over him.
"OW OW OW - "

She hadn’t learned of the wonders of tea before working at TEArimisu. What a difference it was to have an alternative to water and occasional juice! And free ones at that when she went on break, as she did then with a quick call to her boss. It had taken Stormy some time to get used to working again, but Jane had been accommodating even with school looking closer and closer, and she couldn’t be more grateful. And now, with a lunch break available, Stormy had made some fresh green tea, taken a sandwich, and decided to take it outside since it wasn’t blisteringly hot. There was a cafe nearby that didn’t mind if she used an empty table during slow hours, and it would be under the shade of an umbrella to boot.
Carrying her meal in one arm, she reached for her phone as she made her way over. Dad seemed to have left a few texts, cancelling their dinner due to something at work. Stormy wasn’t terribly surprised and, with a little guilt, felt relieved she didn’t have to worry about one on one contact with him just yet. She was just about to check if Nevada had sent her something when the collision happened.
Hot tea spilled over the stranger as she fumbled for both sandwich and phone, succeeding only with the latter. The former fell with its little tray and clattered, not quite splattering the sidewalk but falling apart nonetheless. A small but startled noise left her as she tried to collect her things. “I’m so, so sorry,” she said quickly. “I wasn’t—I didn’t burn you, did I?”

Noah could feel the scalding liquid seeping in through his sweater vest, and tried to pat at it fruitlessly, stupidly, because that was the first thought that had come to his mind, and it turned out to be a very stupid thought indeed, because that just meant that he got more hot liquid on his hand.
"Ooooooowwwwwww - "
He heard the clatter of - something, probably falling - and opened his mouth to say something - rude, probably - before he caught sight of pale pink and white hair and large green eyes that were attached to a flustered looking girl who was hastily trying to gather everything up.
A Bingo sign flashed in front of Noah's eyes.
"No, no it's totally fine," he said brightly, beaming at her, and then dropping down to his knees in an attempt at helping her gather things up. "Uh, I mean, you know, it kinda hurts and all that, but it's not like, terrible, it could be worse - oh, dude, did you lose your food?"
The poor sandwich was lying in a sad looking puddle of bread and interiors on the ground. Noah scooped it back onto the tray rather messily.
"Uh - I don't think - I mean, the thirty second rule is probably gross," he said, wincing a little.

The second wave of embarrassment came in: she was doing a stellar job giving a first impression of her place of employment on top of everything else. Awesome.
"I'm so, so, so sorry," Stormy continued to say with a wince, even going so far as to bow her head a little as he helped her clean up. The ruined lunch was an afterthought; she could always snack off leftovers or crackers or something, if she found a moment to sneak it in. Then it hit her.
He looked decently dressed. Oh, God. This man wasn't on his way to an important meeting, was he? Horror returned in nauseating, doubled power.
"Um, here!" Untying her apron, she offered it to him as a sort of towel to try and salvage his clothes. Not that it was entirely clean itself, but...
