User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Name: Theophilia Pepper (sister to NovaCracker's Alexandra Pepper )

Nickname: Fee

Age: 10

Birthday: July 10th

Sign: Cancer

Gemstone: Ruby

Blood Type: A+

Fav. Food: Blueberry anything - actual blueberries, blueberry muffins, blueberry candies… she loves it all.

Hated Food: Barbecue - it’s sticky and messy and awful!

School: Knightside Elementary

Hobbies:

Cello - Theophilia wanted to play an instrument from the time she was old enough to speak. She couldn’t decide on one, however, so bounced back and forth between considering more typical, known instruments like piano and clarinet and violin, but none of them were something she could really picture herself picking up Then, when her mother took her to a nearby music store in hopes that would help he make a decision, she saw a cello and instantly fell for it. She’s devoted to practicing it, and will even lug it around to the park and other outdoor areas so that she can practice somewhere other than her bedroom. Right now, she still plays mostly simple pieces, but her skill is growing and she enjoys it, and that’s what really matters.

Cavy Care - This may not sound like a hobby, but Fee is very invested in taking care of - and attempting to train - her two pet cavies/guinea pigs, Elsa and Anna. So far they’re very well-cared for, but the extent of their training is to start bouncing around and making happy noises when they hear a bag or the fridge. But hey, she’s invested in them, and is always eager to talk about cavies and small pets in general with anyone who will listen! (She almost snuck her two to school in her backpack once, but reconsidered when she realized they wouldn’t have water.) She’s almost gotten them to let her put little hats on them, so Fee’s convinced she’s doing an excellent job.

Pressing Flowers - Fee loves flowers! But she doesn’t really like gardening, because it’s too messy and she can’t stand the feeling of dirt under her nails. So instead, she picked up the hobby of pressing and saving flowers. She has several books full of them, and has a few of her favorite pressed flowers framed and hanging on the walls of her bedroom. Fee doesn’t have any particular preference about what sort of flowers she saves - if it catches her eye, she’s quick to ask permission (if it looks like there’s someone who owns the plants) to take a flower or two home, and will usually keep a few plastic bags on her to store them in for the trip. Everything from wildflowers to cultivated flowers catches her interest, and as a result her collection is beginning to take over her room.

Virtues:

Dedicated - When you decide to do something, you can’t just stop because it gets had or because you don’t want to do it any more. You have to keep at it until you finish it, or until you get to where you want to be, even if it’s difficult. Though she’s still young, this is a concept that Theophilia grasps relatively easily - there’s no reward without putting the work in, after all; why else would it be considered a reward? She’s the type of child who takes both commitments and promises very seriously, and does her absolute best to follow through on whatever she’s agreed to do simply because she said she’d do it. Even if it’s hard for her or she starts getting frustrated, she’ll keep at it until she simply can’t any more, because it’s the right thing to do.

Compassionate - Fee is something of a bleeding heart; she cannot and will not stand by if she sees someone upset or in need, whether they’re older or younger than her, a person or an animal, or even a particularly droopy-looking flower. She’ll find a way to involve herself, to try to fix the problem at its source or at least make it a little easier to bear whether there’s anything for her to gain in doing so or not. There are a lot of problems out there in the world that are just too big for her to really help with, and she knows it - but even if she can only help with the small ones, like collecting cans for the local food bank or offering to help a classmate with their homework, it’s still easing someone’s pain, somewhere, and that’s good enough for her.

Organized - Most children don’t carry around a day planner or keep their homework in carefully-tabbed binders divided by subject, but then most children aren’t Fee. She likes to keep track of where and when everything is and should be, and goes to great lengths to keep from losing anything. Forgotten homework or missed lessons are alien to her, because she’s careful to pencil everything in on her little day planner the moment it’s written down, and keeps that planner on her at all times. Her personal space, too, is neat and clean, and she’s generally the person her classmates can go to in order to find out what a quiz is going to be about or when one of their bigger assignments is due. Fee likes her structure, and does her best to keep everything around her neat, orderly, and sensible.

Flaws:

Gullible - Fee is a trusting child; she wants to believe the best of everyone and her first instinct is to expect honesty from them. As a result, she tends to be rather gullible and can fall for manipulation or even believe in ridiculous tall-tales without ever once questioning the reality of the situation. She doesn’t stop to think about what she is hearing - about whether the boy who sits next to her is really sick or just wants to go to the nurse’s office to get away from classwork, or whether high schools actually have training to get past laser-infested hallways. If someone tells her that’s the case, then she assumes that to be the truth until it has been proven otherwise - leading to an immense sense of betrayal when she finds out that what she was told was anything less than the complete and utter truth.

Crybaby - This child is a walking tear factory. If something or someone upsets her, her immediate reaction is to burst into tears and sobbing. She doesn’t take teasing well, or criticism, and if something happens that results in either pain or embarrassment for her she will start sobbing and have no way to calm herself back down. In fact, the day one of her classmates figured out that her initials were ‘T.P.’ and started teasing her about it, she got upset enough that she made herself sick from the sobbing and had to be sent home. She’ll cry about getting a bad grade on her homework, about missing her favorite T.V. show, about the ending to a book she’s just finished. She’ll cry about sad animal rescue commercials and if a movie has an emotional moment she will be sobbing by the end of it. She’s a very sensitive (and weepy) soul, and carries tissues on her for the next inevitable upset.

Spoiled - One might more kindly word it as ‘over-indulged’, but Theophilia is used to getting what she wants, when she wants it. She’s not the sort to be malicious about it, but because she’s used to getting whatever she asks for from her mother, she has trouble understanding that the world doesn’t usually work like that. The very concepts of ‘doing without’ and ‘that just because she wants something doesn’t mean she’ll get it’ are alien to her, and so when she runs into a situation where the world doesn’t or cannot cater to her particular needs and desires, she starts getting upset. She’ll cry, she’ll whine, and she’ll make everyone else around her as miserable as she is until she’s gotten her way - once that happens and her world is mended, her behavior will straighten out and she’ll stop her weeping, which of course only serves to give her a stronger belief that the world can and should align itself to satisfy her. Sometimes, however, she’ll get what she wants and belatedly realize that she’s actively hurt someone in so doing, which will set off her tears and she’ll be an inconsolable mess of guilt until she’s had some time to calm down and sort herself out.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Large Image

Eyes: Large, round eyes that are a soft periwinkle color.

Hair: Very pale blue, slightly wavy hair that falls a little past chin-length.

Face: Theophilia has a very small, fine-boned face, that can get a little dwarfed by her hair at times.

Clothes: When she doesn’t have to wear her uniform, her preferred clothing is… whatever makes her feel pretty, really - this can be anything from a fancy party dress to a T-shirt with a favorite cartoon character on it. Whatever she feels most beautiful in changes from day to day, and as a result so does her fashion. A particular favorite item, however, is her guinea pig kigurumi.

Hello! It looks like you've put a lot of thought into Fee and what kind of young lady you want her to be. Her flaws and virtues roll together well and I love her hobbies!

I do have a quick question about her musical hobby before I can drop off a trial stamp, though!

"Theophilia wanted to play an instrument from the time she was old enough to speak. She couldn’t decide on one, however, so bounced back and forth between more typical, known instruments like piano and clarinet and violin, but not of them sat well with her. Until she saw a cello in the music store, and instantly fell for it."

I'm reading this part in two different ways, and I'd just like a bit of clarification. At first I read it as Fee has actually played/started to learn how to play piano, clarinet and violin but finally settled on cello after seeing one in the music store, and then I read it as she thought about which of the three she might want to learn to play and then decided that a cello was the one. I'm pretty sure, in typing this, that it's the latter but if you could just elaborate on that a little bit we can move right along!

I also think that the cello is a fine choice in instrument. It was my first choice elementary school too! Although I wound up playing violin because the school I went to had more lesson spaces open for violin. >.>

Confession, I wrote that part of her profile when I was half asleep so I think the wording came out really awkward. I just rewrote that bit and tried to make it clearer. Hope that helps some, and lemme know if I need to work on it some more.

(I myself was a piano kid but I've always loved the way cellos sound? And the idea of a tiny chibi with a big instrument was just too cute to pass up.)

Looks wonderful! Have a trial stamp!

One of the GMs will be by to drop off a final stamp.

(Unrelated to stamping, but music...

One of our 'field trips' in elementary school was to see the an orchestral ensemble. I can't remember if it was one of the older schools playing their concert or not, but.... They played the Jurassic Park suite and the main theme played by a string group? That sold me on it.

Cellos have an amazing sound. Apocolyptica is one of my favorite string ensembles just for that deep bass.)
