Hopping off the stepladder with his prize, Tleilaxu hugged the latest book, Zephyros: A Brief History & Guide to the Eastern Continent, to his chest before making his way to the closest table where his growing collection was with a spring to his step. Placing the book on the top of the pile, he pulls them towards him in preparation to lifting it. When he lifts it, he is caught momentarily by surprise for a quick moment by the heaviness.
'Okay, so maybe I did bite off more than I could chew,' Tleilaxu thought to himself as he quickly righted himself before the books had a chance to topple out of his arms.
"Stupid, stupid. Heavy," his tail quietly reprimanded him.
He couldn't help it. He loved history, and the pile in his arms reflected that love. The books he had so far were as followed:

Euros: A Brief History & Guide to the Western Continent
Auster: A Brief History & Guide to the Southern Continent
The Divergence: Speculations on the Lost History
The Demon Civil War
The 50 Year War Simplified

The pile, he admitted quietly to himself, went just bit above his head, making it a tad difficult to see in front of him. Walking a bit through the book aisles, he tried to adjust his grip on the books, when he bumped into a mass and fell to the ground, the books scattering around him.
He would later admit to himself that maybe he should have adjusted his grip before he started moving.
Looking up, he met the gaze of pale green eyes with no pupils. The little Nightmare had a pale teal skin and short green hair cut so the bangs covered the left eye.
"I'm so sorry!" He managed to stammer out as he managed to quickly pick himself up from the floor and offer his hand to help her up. "I didn't see where I was going. Are you alright?"Word Count: 341

Pippi was wandering up and down the aisles in the extra large library looking for specific books to read. Once in a while a title will catch her interest as she was somewhat ahead of her classmates in reading comprehension so she preferred books a Junior or Senior may read although sometimes they were out of her league so to speak.
The books she was looking for concerned Psychology which was a career choice she was considering heavily. She was fascinated with how people act, things they do, why they do specific things and the outcomes of said acts. Although Psychiatry was also a possibility that was a little to deep for her to understand at this age and she decided on waiting until she was older to attempt to read up on this specific medical speciality to see what it entailed.
Reaching up for a book on the 3rd shelf, her body turned half way she suddenly felt as if she was hit by a brick wall. Startled she lost her footing and fell into the bookshelf causing several books to fall down, narrowly missing her head. Turning her head quickly she saw a lightly colored braided haired freshling with an adorable tail seemingly struggling a bit to get off the floor and suddenly reached a hand out to her help up.
Startled for a second, she realized the voice was a soft, sweet voice and it seemed genuinely concerned for her welfare. Smiling she reached out and took their hand. "I am alright although those books seemed a tad bit boring I had no idea they would try to bop me on the head!" her eyes twinkling as she laughed. "I have done the same thing in here, it is hard not to. All these books! They are endless!" gesturing towards the large section they were in.
Turning her attention back to the freshling, she decided to introduce herself so it would not be so awkward. "Where are my manners? I am Pippi and you are?" awaiting their response she smiled warmly.

Helping the girl up off the floor, Tleilaxu couldn't stop his cheeks from turning a dark pink when he heard her laugh. 'She's really cute, and she's got a cute laugh,' he thought to himself, almost missing when she introduced herself to him.
"Pippi's a really cute name. It suits you!" He gave her a bright smile.
Tlei almost jumped out of his skin when his tail softly bumped into his shoulder, giving him a stern look.
"Oh! M-my name's Tleilaxu. Sorry if it's kind of hard to pronounce, I didn't pick it. You can call me Tlei or Xu if you want to."
He shyly smiled at her before giving the library a cursory glance, nodding his head. "There are so many books here; I bet it would take ages to read all of them!"
Feeling his tail bump into him again, he turned his head to look at it, his braid swinging as it softly settled onto his back.
"Mess, mess," it said as it pointed it's snout downwards.
Tlei followed it's gaze, and his dark eyes widened at the mess of books at their feet on the floor.
"Oh man," he said as he dropped to his knees. "We better clean this up before the librarian finds us and starts lecturing us on how to care for books."
He quickly but carefully sifted through the books, putting the ones he had into a pile.
"Which books are yours? We can separate them before putting the rest back on the shelves."

Getting to her feet, Pippi noticed a fluffy tail it seemed to move by itself. For a second she thought it was communicating with the young freshling who knocked into her by accident.
Watching the interaction she was fascinated. In her classes she had yet to see a freshling of this race. Not wanting to appear rude she forced her eyes away from that cute tail and saw a pink flush on the freshling's face.
Then a voice, saying how cute her name was and then their name which was a mouthful to say. She was about to ask if there was something else she could call them when she heard "You can call me Tlei or Xu".
The tail seemed to be agitated about the mess on the floor, so Pippi bent over to begin to clean up the mess when she was joined by the freshling.
Xu she liked that name so this is what she decided to call him. Xu seemed to chatter as if nervous. Pippi thought this was cute and smiled.
"I like the name Xu, alright to call you this?" "As for which books is mine, I was reaching for something that caught my attention but to be honest it's not important. I was wandering about trying to find a few books that is different from what I usually take out" she said in a rush. "I like books on Psychology and Psychiatry but most of these books are for Juniors and Seniors, I try to read them but most of them are to far advanced for me yet." Shrugging she began to place the books in a pile to pick up.
"I agree about the Librarian, they seemed to be well rather crotchey, I think that is the right word. I heard a Senior say it about another Senior who was mean" laughing she sat back and plopped back on her butt. Leaning her head on the shelves, she sighed. "I know I should get this cleaned up but it's so many books, do you have a library at home?" she couldn't help it she snort laughed. Covering her nose she felt embarassed and of course she giggled again which turned into another rather loud snort laugh. Feeling her cheeks heat she looked around trying to figure out how to get out of the mess of books on the floor without making a bigger fool of herself. Thinking to herself "Hmphh, I am acting like Snow Lily!" her eyes getting wide with shock.
