Darkness descended on the garden as Dark Raven roamed the barely cut paths through the brambles. His wings held high over his back to keep the feathers from getting caught. His ears flicked as the howls of the Timber wolves echoed through the distant trees. One was soon followed by another, seems that the pack was hunting. Some poor pony or other creature had stumbled into the forest after the sun set. Reaching an opening in his roam, Dark Raven flexed his wings and took to the air.
"What are you hunting?" He mused taking wing over the gnarled tree tops, dark eyes peering down through the gaps.
At first her hadn't seen anything before a small black shape leaped from across a gap. Pausing to hover in the air, he looked in the direction whatever it was, was heading. Looking again the forms of timber wolves streaked across the patch of light. Crap! Taking a dive through the branches to breeze up past the wolves. One snapping at him as he drew too close. Dark Raven used the wolve's wooden head to launch himself further a head.
Shooting forward and leaving the pack behind, he caught up with the prey they were chasing. It was her, the filly from days ago. Her small wings held close to her sides as she ran, a pair of saddle bags on her back. Looking forward the trees here grew thicker, on the other side was a place no pony should set hoof.
"Turn back!" He shouted pulling around and dropping before the filly forcing her to stop.
"Go back, this place is not safe. For you." Taking up a defensive stance, he knew the wolves would catch up with them soon, he had to get them all away from this part of the forest. For her sake and for his own.
