Hobbies: Cooking -- Cooking is one of Kestrel's favorite hobbies, there are few things she loves more than preparing a meal for family, friends, or herself. She loves making stews and cheesecakes best but she is always on the lookout for new recipes to try.
Drawing: -- Animals and fossils are among Kestrel's favorite things to draw, and they usually come out at least fairly well. Though she does occasionally attempt to draw people, these efforts are less successful.
Virtues: Passionate -- Kestrel is a very passionate person, and it shows in her dedication to her work. She loves what she does, and pursues nearly everything in her life with enthusiasm. She is willing to try almost anything once, and though she is not overtly reckless, she will often jump headfirst into situations with little prior knowledge.
Meticulous -- Kestrel has a tendency to be incredibly precise and careful with her actions. She is very particular in the way she does things and can be something of a perfectionist. This does result in her being somewhat slow in her work, but very consistent, and the work she provides is generally of high quality.
Rational -- In spite of her passionate nature, Kestrel does her very best to maintain a rational, logical train of thought and is an avowed skeptic. She believes that there is a logical explanation for everything, and will do anything she can to debunk something that seems illogical to her. While she will not go around telling children that there is no Santa Claus, or starting arguments with religious people, she feels little need to cater to these beliefs beyond showing basic respect to the people who hold them.
Gentle -- Kestrel tends to be very gentle in her actions toward people, soft-spoken, with a soft touch. She has a strong aversion to violence and will do her best to mediate fights, both physical and verbal. While some people find her to be a busybody and will tell her to mind her own business, this does little to dissuade her from doing it again in the future.
Flaws: Tactless -- In spite of her meticulousness in her actions, Kestrel is less careful when choosing her words, and often puts herself in awkward situations through her loose tongue. She hardly seems to know the meaning of discretion, and unless directly told not to, will casually talk about nearly anything in conversation. Though this is more often than not an innocent mistake, it has caused her (and her friendships) a lot of issues in the past. In spite of her efforts to mitigate it, sometimes she genuinely doesn't realize what is and isn't appropriate to say in a social setting.
Conceited -- Kestrel is quite proud of herself and her accomplishments, no matter how minor, and doesn't hesitate to show it, sometimes to an aggravating degree. She will shamelessly babble on about herself, not seeming to realize that others find it incredibly irritating. She sees very little wrong in taking pride in herself and isn't particularly interested in changing that aspect of her personality.
Naive -- Kestrel grew up fairly sheltered, and as such, has a fairly idealized worldview. She does realize that there are terrible things in the world, but she genuinely believes that humanity is fundamentally good, and has the capacity to work together to overcome them. Because of this, she is fairly trusting of people, and while this has yet to land her in any serious danger, it has great potential to cause issues for her.
Impatient -- Kestrel is fairly used to instant gratification, and has a great deal of trouble waiting for things that she has no control over. She will become antsy and frustrated if things don't go quickly and will bother the people in charge with constant questions. In situations like waiting in line, if she doesn't have something with which to occupy herself she will become frustrated, and if it is not something that is extremely important to her she will sometimes leave if it takes too long.
